Just got a sanction to JSA (Advice for appeal)

    Hi

    I was told today i might face sanctions for not turning up to a job interview what sort of thing can i expect?

    the reason i did not turn up as i had a panic attack just before i went i put this down on the form when it was sent off are they lightly to let me off?

    thanks for any help tony :)

    You should start a new thread rather than tag this onto an existing one. Regarding your missed appointment I'm afraid that you will lose money. :(

    We do not have discretion, we are paid to do a job, if we let one off and not the other then we would be seen to be unfair. What we do have are 'treated provisions'. If some-ones reasons falls within these accepted provisions, and I stress this can only happen so many times, then yes we can accept their reasons. But we certainly do not let some people off and sanction others. The rules for claiming JSA are simple, be available for work, actively seek work by taking reason prospects that offer the best chances of securing employment and attend all interviews as arranged. This includes interviews with JCP, employers or partners.
