Essex girl - great news about the puppy!:j

Thanks crazychick - the tablets are working a treat!:D I feel much better, hope your backs not giving you too much stick!

Had a disaster here last night while I was at work, DS1 left the gate open  and our 3 dogs went walkabout:eek: we live on the side of a road so it could have been a tragedy, luckily a neighbour caught the 2 small dogs and put them back but the big lurcher was injured, not sure how and ran off, DH found him up on the school field in a state of shock with some cuts to his mouth and leg, this morning he seems to be his usual self so I am so relieved!

Had a sleep-in at work last night and was up twice to a service user so am shattered today.

have been and put a bet on the Grand National which we both love to watch. have splashed out a tenner:eek: on 5 horses, had a quid each way so its fingers crossed for me!

Hope you all have a lovely day, its nice and sunny here:j

    Take care xxxx

Emma - i have the same problem with my ex and my father. My Dads wife caused me so many problems when i split with exOH, and my dad backed her all the way, so we no longer have any type of relationship, which still hurts now, but its even worse when my dad has let my ex into his house, as he is one of the only people who knew all my ex put me through. I tried to send my dad a letter a few years ago, saying he was welcome, although i couldnt forgive his wife, and i never heard anything back, other than a load of lies my ex turned up with, saying my dads wife had seen this letter i had written and i had apparently written all sorts about him in it - i told him to ask to see the letter and he would see that she was lying and causing problems - i dont know if he did or not.
But, never mind - im a great believer in looking at what i have got rather than what i havnt, and although it hurts not seing my dad, i look at my family and see that its him that is missing out, not us.

Good Luck with the Grand National today. I normally put a bet on, but too busy to leave the house at present! Dare we ask who you've backed! Do you choose potential winners, names or jockeys? I normally go for names and my luck they fall at the first fence or its usually a donkey!

Back is improving, had a better yesterday. Trying not to over do it to !!!!!! it up again! But then again, I cant sit still as that agrivates it more!

Feeling better after my weepy moment!
OH cutting the grass now. Bedding all ironed, just got to strip beds now. Nice sunny day, so hope to get it all washed and out on the line!

    Morning :hello:

I'm still in jimjams with cup of tea - I don't know how you lot do it on Saturday mornings, especially those of you without little ones to get you started!

cha97michelle - I love your new avatar - bubs is really growing up!
Master kyle and Master Pink - Happy Birthday :bdaycake:
kittie - glad your dd and oh are now sorted out ((hugs))
Crazychik and catowen - how awful that your dads should take sides against you. My relationship with my dad went through a rocky patch in my teens as he was not a very nice person in the few years before he split from my mum - and although I still don't think he realises there was a problem, we are fine now.
lil_me - take care! I hate it when I have no voice (specially as singing is the source of part of my income! - LOL) but I love Queenie's idea about doing a treasure hunt for the boys ;)

Well I have a busy weekend ahead so I need to get out and about shortly. My freezer is still jampacked with food so I don't really need to go to the market today (though I am completely out of fresh fruit so need to go shopping somewhere.) Didn't manage to open my ISA yesterday due to huge queue at the bank, so need to pop down to the nearest branch that's open on Saturday afternoons. Luckily it's the one on Walworth Road and there are loads of good value fruit & veg places there too.

Tonight is best friend's birthday party (his actual birthday was on Tuesday) so will be out socialising at a wine bar in Waterloo. That means I should go into Central London this afternoon and buy him a present - something interesting and alcoholic should do the trick ;) Might pop into Bravissimo too as there's a really nice top in the sale there and I would like to try it on.

Ha - I suppose that means I need to get dressed and actually do all these things! :o

    See you later

    Rzl xx

Catowen - thanks for that - Ive just PM'd you.
I really admire dlb for her contact she's made with her mum, despite their rocky past. I hope I find the strength one day to do the same.

    Hi all

<HUGS> to those in pain, physical or emotional.

I heard yesterday that research has shown that those sleeping 6 hours a night live longer than those who sleep 8 or 9 hours. Any consolation to the insomniacs out there?

Spent about an hour this morning trying to pack away all the flours I bought from Shipton Mill. I decant some of them into tubs, each one with 500g in which is the right amount for a basic loaf. The speciality flours (like ciabatta and french bread flour) go into Lock n Lock cereal dispensers (which are currently the Lakeland free gift!), but I have to really pack them down to get them all in. I love making lots of different types of bread!

Next few days I will try to restrict myself to making standard white loaves trying each flour so I can see if I can tell the difference. I don't really expect to be able to, but you never know.

Two lots of washing on the line, DW emptied and is on again. Kitchen cleaned, floor swept and washed. Bought some better quality wooden hangers from Lakeland to replace the carp ones from Mr T (what a false economy they were!). These ones are better made, and most importantly have something on the bar to stop trousers slipping and sliding. They have other features too, which are of no use to me: skirt hooks and each one has a belt loop thing. Box came with a free tie hanger, so I'll probably post that on Ebay at some point.

I also walked down to the garage to get my carriage out to give it a bit of dust off, as I'm going to sell it. DH came with me, and he's taken a couple of bits off to repaint. Once that's refittted I'll take some photos and then I'll get round to advertising it.

    OS Plans for the day:
Have a vac pack session in a moment to vac pac all the meals I've frozen this week.

Dinner tonight is Shepherd's Pie, made with delicious mutton mince.

Got to plant some more bulbs in the front garden. We had our driveway done last Autumn, and it looks lovely. I planted lots of winter bedding, and I couldn't believe what a difference it made. So then I planted a range of spring bulbs which started flowering in Feb and will continue to May. I'll miss them when they've gone, so I've found some which flower in June/July to add.

Am also trying (not very successfully) to summon the motivation to start tackling our concretery. A couple of years ago we decided to rescue the rockery from the ivy that covers it. It took me a day, and to my horror I doscovered it wasn't hiding a beautiful neglected rockery, it was hiding lumps of concrete. I didn't have the inclination to dismantle it, so I let the ivy grown back. This year, it's coming out completely. All of it.

Right, I'd better get on. Thanks for listening.

    xxxxx

    Back again

Thanks All for the comments about my little dog - am so glad he is such a lovely animal and he adores the kids.

Nelski - that is strange - have turned all the rads off by their valves but the bathroom ones are still on. As doing loads of washing they are boiling. Garden has no shade at the moment, house is like an oven - I look like a beetroot. The Gasman had to order £300 of parts so Homecare definately worth it.

Am waiting for sisters removal lorry to turn up any minute then can direct it to her house and will take a walk down the sea wall - hopefully there will be a bit of a breeze down there. Not that I am moaning about the lovely weather!

    Afternoon,

**hugs** to everyone who needs or wants them.

Loads to do today and just cant be bothered!! Got up late and now i cant believe its 1:45pm already!!!

Had a phone call off work off my manager wanting to know what my sick note said as she couldnt understand doctors handwriting.. i have no idea he didnt tell me what the word was! She didnt sound too happy with that answer.. or that bothered id be back in on thursday. *heres hoping she'll sack me* Soooo dont wanna go back.. being off sick has concreted im worth more than the £4.45 an hour im paid, and everyone around me has said ive been such a nicer happier person the last 2 weeks while ive been off... I feel much better in myself mentally too (ok not physically cos im off sick!) but im not as depressed, stressed out and dont feel like a pile of worthless c**p like i usually do when im working there.

I get picked on really badly and left out of everything there cos i dont "fit in" due to not spending my wages on wardrobes of new clothes or going out boozing and sleeping around......because unlike the rest of them i dont still live at home or in case of the older ones have an OH who also brings in a wage and covers all my bills so my wage is "pocket money".... ALL of my wages goes on bills and usually dont even cover them!! :( Im paid less than any other full time member of staff cos of my age, and because i didnt get the promotion i was promised, yet have most complex dept to look after and also cover security on the guards days off for no extra pay! Its so demotivating to know im busting my bumcheeks for 8 hours a day for £31.15.. minus my travel to GET to work and its £28.85.. so thats evuivalent to £3.60 an hour  thats without factoring in my lunches or the numerous birthday collections they have (which if i dont pay into makes the bullying worse!!) I was on more than that as a saturday girl at college when i didnt have bills to pay!!

Anyway sorry for the moaning, i just have no-one to talk to except my mum and ex-oH and they both sick of it im sure. :o:o:o:o

Better get my backside into gear and start on my list...

    1/clean bathroom
    2/hoover stairs/landing
    3/wash dishes
4/put WM on with another load
5/go find nearest post box and post my 5 job applications :rotfl:
6/plant some seeds to start off on windowsill
7/cook something nice for tea! (been living off HM ready meals all week :o )
8/do a quick tidy up in all the rooms - just to make them all presentable.

Hmm.... doesnt sound much but looks worse all written down :rotfl:

    Have a good afternoon all...

    xxx
