i think some people have misunderstood me - iwanst referring to anyones age when I said youth club ( I certainly dont know peoples ages!) but more the behaviour and nonsense.
thats what the arms is for really, I hang out in there at times, it can be a really good laugh. I dont know why DFW is turning into a mini version of Arms, when theres a really good one already established down the page!
No I realised you weren't really talking about a youth club. I think it was wishful thinking on my part.....
I tried the arms once and got scared and came back to the comfort of what I know.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

To use Immoral Angel as an example (hope you don't mind IA) - her diary inspires so many people and also (I think) helps her to stay on the straight and narrow herself - at the same time, she is a regular contributor to a huge number of other threads, and offers advice to newbies being chased by debt collection agencies, struggling with budgetting etc. She's one of the backbones of the forum, and if the odd bit of light heartedness keeps her coming back day after day, then I think that's got to be a good thing.
There are people on here who are *only* here for the social side, but they're very few and far between.
The Arms is great, but I find it much more cliquey and daunting than DFW, and can descend into nastiness rapidly on occasion, so I prefer to stay in the safety of this forum.
The bankruptcy board has a bankruptcy inn thread - maybe that would be a solution on here, to keep the socialising side of it all in one thread (or perhaps start a new one each week, to stop it getting huge and out of control)?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I must admit I've tried a few of the other boards and asked questions and I was either ignored or shot down in flames. I tend not to venture from the DFW board now.0

Because it's friendlier here. Probably youth-club is a good analogy. As opposed to the big "grown-up" bar with its fondlers and letches..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'

That was suggeste before as the "Diaries" board. But people were concerned that it would split the "eyes" and the newbies would go unanswered."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

They're harmless really...
At least letches on here try to be amusing and varied, and not say "I'd do you!" for 500 straight posts..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Do you think? I havent noticed any fondlers or letchesmust look a bit harder next time!
To me this sort of argument doesnt really work though, I wouldnt ask on here for advice about my mortgage and I wouldnt ask in the savings board about the best way to drill a hole. this site- large as it is, is very well designed and its obvious which sections are for what.
If newbies come and ask a question about say "whats the cheapest way to refit my bathroom" surely long haulers like us ZTD should be saying- ask about this in the In my home section- as we are able to educate the newbies among us into getting the most out of the whole site - surely:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Agreed. You can ask an off-topic question here, and get more good answers than when it's moved to an on-topic board.
The irony absolutely fountains out of that situation..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I'll say it again. I love the diaries and I'd hate to see them go. They are a massive part of the DFW board and super helpful to everyone. I post on the diaries and on some of the party threads. It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. That's not what lyn or I am talking about.:A
