Morning toughies, im so sorry byatt for your loss of your beloved dog. Sending you warm thoughts and hugs. Its a year next week since we lost our little dog, bless him.

Yesterday I worked from 715am until 10pm what a long day that was. OH stayed up to chat to me, he received the post-mortem results and his uncle had died from a heart attack. They mentioned it would have been over in a second, but not sure if this true or just to make everyone feel better. They are awaiting on a solicitor to give the instructions on funeral arrangements.

I am waiting for the talktalk engineer to call ad finally replace my youview box. Fingers crossed this will be the 3rd visit arranged and 2 so far cancelled.

    have a good everyone x

    NuttyP,
Good luck with the home visit from the engineer.

Glad the news has come through about OH's uncle and they've tried to alay fears. I hope it was quick but doubts always exist and if it helps then its worked.

There is no good thing about the loss of a loved one but you can try and lessen the hurt.

I have lost track of how many musicians/song writers release their feelings in music, it happened again last night with a song written for the artists late Father. Everyone deals with their grief in the way that is right for them. Even he said it takes years.

    Morning all

    well done peanut!
Good day yesterday housework wise, more cleaning and decluttering done. Only thing is the more I clean and sort, the more I can see to do - still tons but getting there slowly and surely. Good to be on a roll. Oh and really pleased to get big mildew marks of my kitchen nets - wasn't expecting to and planning to buy new ones so a result!!

Yesterday was council recycling day and I could have put out extra bags with the decluttering but no special recycling bags left. Council offices have run out and neighbours have too so all stuffed in cheap black bags around the house which are splitting. Blooming typical! Hopefully get rid of next week if they have new stocks of bags.

Been a carp week with the kids off mainly due to DS8 being ill, bad weather, lack of funds... Today as house is looking good (in comparision to a few days ago anyway!) and DS8 is getting better, I am going to take the kids out to a cafe for a drink and cake. DS8 still not up for anything active and its rainy so that's all I can think of. Then back home to play some board games or crafts with them. Also just booked a cheap family film at the cinema on Sunday - bargain tickets for £1.50 each and kids can take some of their Easter stash to chomp on. Will round off the school hols.

Ok off to get dressed. Have a good day everyone. Sending you all a big smile and positive thoughts.

Peanut Well done! even if you're not going to use it yet its good to get it under your belt.
Pops I bought one of those 'memory foam' toppers a couple of years ago & they REALLY are warm. I got mine 'cos I had a back injury - all OK now but I'm keeping the topper on 'cos I'm such a chilly mortal!
I have seen them from time to time on our local freecycle - mainly because for some people they make the bed much too hot

Fairly nice day here yesterday & I managed to get out in the garden for a while. Did a survey of the 'estate' & I've got a lot of work to do after this awful winter. Maybe I'll be able to get my potatoes planted this weekend!

Right - arris in gear & get the downstairs cleaned up today :)

Peanut well done in re passing your exam.

SQ well done on the extra housework, you put me to shame!! Glad your little one is feeling better, a nice cake and a cuppa always does the trick.

Silvasava hmmm our garden needs a little tlc at the mo. Maybe this weekend if the sun is out I can do a tidy up. I would like to replant the border in the front garden, its sad but I like to have flowers there for passing people to see.

Popperwell, thankyou for the kind words. Its true OH does feel better knowing that it was quick and sudden, as in didn't suffer. He was 78.

TV engineer has been, and upgrade the internet to 12meg broadband, we had 7 before. I didn't know apart from it being a bit slow sometimes. We have a New tv box so while at work I can record all the things I want and watch them when or of I get a free bit of time.

Right im off to get my hair sorted from the messed up just out of bed look. Then its work...... take care everyone x

Jem if there is petrol spily, wipe up as much as you can. Then sprinkle salt and biscarb of soda on it to eliminate the smell. Most of all try and leave the window open to ventilate. How do I know, well les just say OH got me to fill the can for the lawn mower and then rest is history!!!

Have a great day with your mum.

Afternoon toughies, hope you're all ok, hugs all round if not! :D

Had to spend silly money getting new shoes for littlies today, wiped out this week's spare cash and then some. Off to see a friend this aft, which will be free, don't even need to drive, in an attempt to balance the books.

A relative had her appendix out a few days ago, but turns out surgeons took part of each bowel, too, as they didn't look good, she has to wait a week or 2 for results - we're all hoping it was just infection and not the dreaded C-word - she's got 3 young kids so we def don't need any bad news, thank you God! :(

My mum's been hard work this week, memory seems really bad ATM, conversations are constant repetition, I took her for a hospital appt which she'd apparently cancelled months ago (and of course forgot about!), so has to be re-referred - she keeps saying sorry for causing us so much work, but we don't feel like that, just sad that she's starting to slowly change from the confident, independent lady she's always been! My depression seems to be lifting slightly - good job, really, as I couldn't deal with mum otherwise! :D

Sorry, all the above sounds negative - think I need chocolate this aft! :D

    A xo

Cheapskate: Yes, definitely chocolate. Preferably industrial strength chocolate. You can never go wrong with chocolate. Hope things look better soon.

I'm recovering from spending several hours yesterday trying to clean the tiny kitchen of one of our drop-in regulars. I did the bathroom a couple of weeks ago and under a lot of nagging from me he has managed to keep it not too bad. But the kitchen .......! Yuk and double yuk. I'll spare you the grisly details but I came home and stood in the shower for ages trying to disinfect myself. Where are Kim and Aggie's cleaning team when you need them? I will try to finish the kitchen next week and will then gather up all my courage to make a start on the bed-sit. Don't try to imagine it - just don't go there.

I've an unexpected free day today and I made lots of plans. Stop giggling at the back there! That's right, I've done nothing yet.
Soooooooo.......... I'm getting off here and actually DOING something. Yes, really.

Lamb casserole with dumplings just cooking - cannot wait, the aroma is wonderful. Its about the 4th meal from my leg of lamb and well worth it.

My new apple tree's arrived today so I went off to plant them asap and the heavens opened, added to my general soggyness I managed to cut 2 fingers and looked down to see blood running down my arm. Ran up to OH (in his bed cos he was pooh) with a box of plasters and disturbed him for the 5th time but he plastered me up and turned over back to sleep bless him. I am now totally finished any major outlay on the garden and its now upto the seed box to provide food and floweryness. My tree's are Braeburn, jubilee, cybele and Charles Ross all on M9 rootstock apart from the Charles Ross so thats got the best spot in the garden. I am so excited and thank you to whom ever recommended D T Browns, excellent service and cost me £32 for the £4. With the price of good apples they will certainly re-pay the outlay within a year or 2.
