Good news all round then. As you might expect Pops, you missed a good night at the Club, no new faces - although one good voice you may not have heard before.

Some red-sticker bargains from A!di, gosh, those are worth having, two gorgeous breaded cod fillets for 90p the best of them.

I'm also pleased with the lovely white split-wood linen bin I got from Wilko's for £9 - it's for my bedroom.
The (plastic) bathroom linen bin is still going strong and looking completely unworn after 35 years, so will probably outlast me. It was bought in Germany, made by Rubbermaid and is far sturdier than anything you can buy now. I just wish someone would use the same sort of plastic for clothes pegs. Every summer I buy a couple of dozen and by every autumn the same number have broken as the plastic isn't photo (as in light) stable.

SQ - thank you, you have all been so lovely this week.

I did indeed make the dentist - I cried all over the receptionist and the nurse and the dentist - they all now think I am a suicidal lunatic! He has done a temp filling but I have to go back to have a root canal and crown done on it - if I had gone months ago it would have been much less :(

Its been a mad day today again and I was incredibly down and depressed I really do need this school holiday so much. My dad keeps sending me guilt messages and if I dont reply he sends a more guilt message. Then he calls and I snap.
Sunday will be difficult as we would usually have a big Easter dinner with my parents - but due to my dads constant guilt trips I cant bear the idea of being in the same room as them. Like you SQ this means a talk with the kids to explain its not happening.

Added to the rest of the stuff I understand why I feel so low, I have decided this evening to take control of it in order to get through it.

So tomorrow I am going to plan Sunday in a totally different way - will still do a nice dinner but will plan a trip out afterwards, or a get together with friends maybe. Then an egg hunt for the kids and a chilled evening.

Discovered this afternoon DS9 needed an Easter Bonnet for tomorrow - why cant they warn parents earlier?? My dentist app was 4,30 and I had promised the kids a treat trip to Ikea for dinner, so arrived home at 7.30 to make said bonnet and cupcakes for the teachers.

Have ended up being very simple as my enthusiasm has waned significantly - so cardboard ring, plastic plate on top three cupcakes all decorated, wrapped in cellophane with big bow - no way it will win but at least he has one.

Missrlr congratulations - phew you must be so happy.

Kidcat, I think you need some 'Me' time hunny or you will be laid up with a lurgy like I was. I know its crisis after crisis but you need to stop and breathe somewhere along the line - I have the very t shirt :D Good idea avoiding confrontation and planning the weekend that will be best for all of you xxxx

We have a distant relative of OH's coming on Friday morning, which sounds interesting so have to sort the house out tomorrow. He has such a tiny family that to find a new member was quite a shock - hope he is nice.

SQ sounds like an interesting time in your house, willow weaving looks fun. I remember Kirsty Alsop doing it and even she managed a passable sample.

Hugs to all in need hurrying off to bed as early start tomorrow xxx

    Great news Misslr.
Kidcat well done for being brave and going to the dentist. Sorry it's not over yet. : ( I'm hopeful your parents will come to their senses eventually, but in the meantime rest, enjoy and forget. I hope there's no crisis today!
We have people coming into the house while we are away, to look after the rabbits, so am in the horrific situation where we have to leave everything clean and tidy. The horror!

I am working at home today - but as they owe me about 4 weeks so far this year, I won't worry if I don't do much. I do have a couple of hours of emails to sort.

I also have the mother in law coming this afternoon, until Monday. SHe couldn't come last week due to weather so I can't moan. I will be spending the next few hours tidying and vacuuming. I am also going to treat myself to an hours soak in the bath. I will take some work reading with me and count it as work time :D I love having a flexible job.

Still some snow on the ground, but not too much now. DS is at school till 1, he has gleefully gone in his own clothes as school have allowed anyone with 100% attendance to have a non-uniform day. DD has broken up but has to go in tonight for her final performance of the school production - she is then off to her first "teenage" party , which as she is nearly 17, I feel we have got off lightly so far. OH and I are joking about which police station we will be picking her up from :p. She doesn't drink so I am confident this is a joke. She will take 2 alcopops and that will be it. It does mean one of us turning out at some unearthly hour and driving a fair way to pick her up though - that's the problem when school is a fair way away, friends can be even further.

Oh well, this won't get the kitchen cleaned - catch y'all later.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning all,

trying to type with stripey cat all over me. I don't sit down often enough I think so cats have to get their quality time in when they can.

Still not well but feel noticeably better today :j. DH has done the school run but will have to venture out this afternoon for parents eve. Wanted to get organised in prep for school hols but not going to push myself til I feel better. Nothing is that urgent that it can't wait. So :p:p:p to housework and food shopping! Will just have to spend a big chunk of weekend catching up as won't get much done with the kids off and taking them food shopping is a . Will do some laundry though, daresn't leave it to pile up now we have got rid of the tumble dryer. YES we are officially a tumble dryer free zone! Got through our first winter without one :) though couldn't do it without a dehumidifier.

DH offered to pick something up for tea yesterday. Got a meal deal, 2 fairly disgusting pizzas and 2 sides - he chose onion bahijis and sesame toast - what a combo! Perhaps it was me without much appetite but it all tasted fairly horrible. DH was pleased at a bargain for £6 for 2 of us adults- I dread to think how much our shopping bill would be if he did the shopping.I am working on letting go of my control freakery in prep for me eventually getting a paid job but its so hard when DH has no idea at all about some things. I am also trying hard not to criticise as well as I know that isn't helpful.

9am and still not dressed, what luxury! I think I can manage another cuppa before I plod on with stuff at a snail's pace.

Ohhh just to add we have lovely sunshine, sending a few rays out to anyone who hasn't

    sq:)
