well done on braving the dentist kidcat and for changing your Easter plans to suit yourselves. :T Life is too short to put up with lots of unnecessary nonsense. In fact I think I will add that last sentence to my signature!

vjsmum finger's crossed all is ok with your DD's party tonight. First times for things are always hardest - it will be a relief when its over and all went to plan.

I never ever watch daytime TV (or much TV of my choosing - only one TV and the majority males rule :D) unless I feel poorly so might curl up on sofa with some toast and TV :p. I know how to live the high life ;)

  • MISSRLR Brilliant news and huge congratulations to Mr Missrlr for being so clever!!!

We have the yellow ball in what for a real change is the blue stuff this morning, it's still bitterly cold out there but what a difference to your spirits when you can stand by the window and feel the warmth coming through the glass. DD1 is home for a few days and we are venturing to I*ea this morning as we have a couple of vouchers and she needs a couple of things furniture wise so He Who Knows is driving us in and collecting the flat packs in the car, he's a poppet in that respect and never minds.

Well done all who have braved the dentist, proud of you all, it's not my favourite place either but I see it as necessary maintenance and make myself go, but it's not easy is it? Hope everyone who is poorly or feeling down gets some of this sunshine and feels better for it, have a good day all, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Morning all. I have finally caught up on all the posts here. I have to arrange a dentist appointment as i have broken a back tooth. It just feels like too much to cope with at the minute. Eldest daughter confided to me sunday night that she had done 3 pregnancy tests and they were all positive. Monday morning she woke up in agony and bleeding heavily so i took her to her doctors appointment so she could register as a patient and they advised that i take her to a&e. Took her and after waiting nearly five hours to get results of blood tests, they said the pregnancy tests had all read false as she had never been pregnant and it was just an extremely heavy period with a lot of pain. She is still in pain now as the tramadol and tranexamic acid isnt really helping.
Life is emotionally exhausting at the moment what with eldest daughter, little brother and a neighbour who told me she thought i was being a bit 'precious' over bullying and not wanting my 5yr old to go to school (i home ed her). Middle daughter(16) threw a wobbler yesterday as i vetoed her having a sleepover at boyfriends house and then moaned that she hadnt even had a birthday party when she knew full well there was no way i could afford one and 12yr old son decided yesterday was perfect for slamming doors, shouting and thundering upstairs in temper. I also need to find a better job than delivering my catalogues but i cant find one yet.
I'm sorry for moaning like this here but i cant get to see my best friend recently without eldest daughter or brother in tow so cant get it all off my chest anywhere else. I really need to cry all over someone but no privacy to do so.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

VJSMUM, I too have taken the approach that as long as they are sensible I accept that they make want a drink. We allow ours an alcopop or two but its making it not such a drama that helps. We have always been taxi drivers to our girls, and im proud that she wants me to take or collect her. Some of her friends also ask for lifts as they don't want their parents there. Its very sad really.

Tuesday I was taxi after the end of term trip to London. Just giggly teens after too much junk food and candy. My only tip is take a large towel and a bowl just in case!!!!!!!

Pleased with my shop this morning. Came to £30 (which included a £4 change mat and £3 on OHs easter gift :)

But I had a £5 off £40 voucher so stocked up on nappies and wipes which took it to £42. Using my voucher and a price promise voucher it came to £35 :)

So basically got a weeks worth of free nappies! Yay :)

Quick visit just to catch up.

Loved the story of the picture Stiltwalker. What a determined little soul. She is really going to make the best of her life.

Well done Missir's DH. What a relief.

VJ's Mum. In our day we also acted as 'pickers-up' after parties and discos. My friend arrived at a disco once, to pick her DD up and said to the bouncer on the door, "Could you just go and tell the girl with the red hair that the dreaded mother is here." Whereupon he bellowed across the hall, "Hey! Cinderella! Put Prince Charming down, your coach has arrived." It was a long time before her DD forgave her.

As for littlies confounding health visitors, when my 18 month-old DS1 was asked, "What colour is that car?" He shot back with, "Would that be the Morris Minor or the VolksWagon Beetle?" I have to say that DS2 didn't speak at all until he was nearly 2. And the loquacious DS1 spent almost his entire adolescence conversing in Neantherdal grunts.

Hope you enjoy your Easter break everyone. Here it is manic but am managing to see the family (and give Mia her big, soft, yellow duck) on Good Friday, squeezed between services, vigils etc. Will try to catch up sometime next week.

PS. Fuddle, enjoy your weekend with your family.
