Having a good chuckle over the visits to the littlies by the Health Visitors. DS1 at 16 months was very slow to crawl & walk (big boy) but he could hold a conversation with you. HV saw him playing & asked him about his digger. Disdainful expression on childs face as he said ' Its not a digger its a JCB' I had to turn my face away :) DS2 used to call Mercedes Benz - Sadie Ben - a name that's stuck in our house!

    Quiet isn't it:(
    Hopefully for good reasons...

I'm doing ok I suppose. You may have seen elsewhere I had quite a good spree with the YS stuff in Tesco the other day and also a local kind of cake shop:p:o:)

A shopping trip a bit like Lynn had today(lots of chicken breasts, gammon steaks and a poussin)

    So some nice meals ahead.

I'm sure they'll try and take it away asap but secured a bus pass so got out today. But one reason I went(a bookshop closing down, books 50% off)a book on wartime recipes. It was closed and empty. At least I saved the cost of the journey.

Found and GQ answered me...that an extra hour of CH daily and my toastie electric blanket cost me an extra £31.50 for approx a month so back to hot water bottles, thermals and PJ's...Quite cosy until the HWB need topping up again...last about three hours.

Hopefully this weather will give up soon(though I hear another two weeks of it are likely)

Missed my music club again:(had a rare visitor arrive almost as I was due to go out. All being well this will not happen again. The weather has been very cold and windy too but any snow has disappeared quickly. I meant to e-mail my friend on the town and still will...I miss this club reluctantly.

In Darlington Friday I thought that was cold...but Durham on Saturday night, nothing could keep me warm...shirt, thermals, thick socks, two hats, two scarves, gloves and a thick coat but it did not stop others(lots of bare flesh on show)walking the town centre and going into the bars and clubs. They were well behaved/happy causing no problems.

Me, typically middle aged and seeing two shows booked ages ago but a couple of nights to forget worries and be happy in these hard times for all...

    Richard Digance and Pam Ayres.

Nothing much planned over Easter but hope to make the effort to do something special foodwise. Thanks to offers and YS I am spoilt for choice, I even have my first duck breasr roast in the fridge freezer.

That's as exciting as it gets for now...oh and I think my mild meds are helping, I am still in charge and not in a daze but they have taken the edge off things as the 1st anniversary comes round.

    Take care everyone...

    Hello everyone

    Have fun Bexim!

Did you get to the dentist kidcat? I read your post about your trip all over town, to the zoo and just about everywhere. Good material for a comedy sketch - the sort of thing you might be able to laugh about later but very stressful at the time. How do you do it and stay such a lovely and inspirational kidcat?

Glad you're ok pops and the ADs are helping.

stiltwalker -loved you sharing the story of your daughter's art purchase.

marie - hope the funeral went off ok today and tomorrow's does too. Hope you are coping ok. Thinking of you and sending hugs.

Not much doing today. DH is at home revising for his exam by a stroke of luck - so he took kids to school so I didn't have to rush about feeling so rotten still. Managed to make my course today but several people missing and half of us ill so we were a fine bunch. Course over-ran, got home, had a late lunch and crawled into bed for an hour.

Kids are really tired especially DS8 who is still struggling with a cold. One day to go and then we can relax a bit. I always plan lots for the school hols so we have a fun time on a small budget. Nothing too much planned yet with the last couple of weeks being hectic. I probably try too hard as we don't have many holidays away and haven't seen my parents/sister/DH's parents for ages (cos they are all pains in the butt.) Boys are starting to ask when they can see them which is a whole post in itself :( and I think DH and I are going to have to sit them down and explain. I think they will be really upset and possibly angry with us. I want to protect them from it all but they are old enough now to suss something is going on. I won't lie to my children and will be open with them but obviously at a level suitable for their age and personality.

Anyway on to positive plans for the break. We will do some crafts and games at home, sort out all their toys and activity stuff, invite friends over and get out in the fresh air. They are booked on a pottery workshop together and another family willow weaving workshop (so I can go, yay!) through the local schools who arrange brilliant holiday activities for £2 a session. Probably do an egg hunt and pop round for a little friend's birthday another day. [STRIKE]Some[/STRIKE]lots of chocolate eating and watching films in PJs will also take place! I will take them on a day out somewhere like a musuem if I can and then another day out with a group of friends from toddler group way back - we try and meet every school holiday. Actually sounds like I have the whole fortnight organised now I have it written out!

sorry to ramble on. better get some sleep
    night all
    sq:)
