Hi nutty, so are you wanting to stay at the old job because it's enough to keep you afloat? If I've understand that correctly I don't blame you. I suppose when you waft away everything, what you have to ask yourself is 'would I be happy working somewhere where I was happier but constantly worrying about money and bills' or 'this job is pants but at least I know that we can keep plodding along'.

When you lose the lot you get scared very easily don't you? I think we're both all too aware that things can spirral and very quickly.

Hope you're ok and your no burdon.

Fuddle they are lovely. I like the colour. Thumbs are not really hard. Sometimes I find putting the work down and making a cuppa before going back to something helps to get my brain round a difficulty.

I put the picture in my above post. I made two pairs in white sparkle yarn.

    Nuttyp (((hugs)))

Oh I like those. Little house gloves. :) Is it a ravelry pattern? I like the cuff as opposed to the puff going up the wrists.

Hi everyone, hope your all well. Ive had one of those days, as in i had the 1st day of my induction. Well its turned out the job is only a 8 hour contract, not the 16/20 i was promised. So ive had tears and 'what havve i done' time. I handed my notice in last week, giving 4 weeks notice. So ive bitten the bullet and rang my area manager to ask for if i can retract my notice.

Im sat here crying, what have i done. I have to work, and i have to earn at least minimum wage at 16 hours for us to be ok. We lost our house years ago through the last recession, and then ended up with such a short fall we had no option other than the bankruptcy. I really hope ive made the right decision by staying put.

OH says do what makes you happy, but it isnt an option. We have to live, and its unfair for him to do extra hours every week to try and make up the money each week.

Im sorry for burdening you all.
i so sorry for you i hope you will be ok!!!
is it not illegal taking you on telling you its for 16/20 hrs then giving you 8 i would go to citizens advice maybe im a bit too rash in saying that maybe someone with more knoledge on here can help you. xxxxx

Hi grandma247 and fuddle, its true loosing everything makes you appreciate everything 10 times more. We are 5 years in and still have no debts. Its hard and im very careful what i buy.
Fuddle i hope the new house is ok and you get the chance to move, you deserve a nice new home.
Well OH thinks ive made the right decision, we will see.... Maybe its a case of better the devil you know. At least i get paid every month, and i know its a business not likely to be going anywhere. Even through these hard times, bookies are still busy.

I have tomorrow off, going to have a day withmy DD who doesnt live at home and her best friend who is also 21 but has a little girl of 18months. I will pretend shes my grand daughter for the day!!!!

Hope everyone is wrapped up warm.

  • Hello from another Lurker! Glad to see that the thread is back on track!

People being snotty about charity shop clothes? that's crazy!

I say this sat here in my Evisu Jeans (£3.50) and American Baseball Hoodie (£4.00) listening to a bunch of 2nd hand CDs (50p-£1) in the light of a big ugly candle (£2.00) from the charity shops near me.

She's probably jealous that you look so good and spent so little - so I'd probably take it as a twisted compliment!

Hope all is well with everyone!?

  • Hi grumpybear x it's so nice to see lots of new people popping up. Before I started posting I was a longtime lurker, but this is now my favourite place to be (especially while DH is watching football, wish he'd stayed in bed ;) ).

I got the girls to jump on the bed and get him up so I could go to bootcamp and I've worked off my bad mood and realised that I am an ungrateful cow. DH works hard and I work hard and together we are a great team.

I must have missed the charity shop post, that is shocking! All my best buys have been preloved and my girls love a good rummage too. They often ask to go at the weekend so they can choose a new book or game.
I think even if we could afford new everything all the time I would still love to buy CS because if nothing else it supports the charity.

going to try and squeeze some conversation out of my grumpy old fart now. night all x
