What we did elisa was put baby in the growbag then put her at the bottom of the cot so she couldn't wriggle downwards and ticket a blanket right round the three side of the mattress, over the sleeping bag. Baby was wedged, so to speak, with nowhere to go but upwards and if she did them she still had that sleeping bag on her. They are really good for babies although we waited until they were a good few months old. When tiny weenie and no risk of wriggling, I would go the sheet and blanket route but still lie at bottom of cot/ Moses basket and took in round mattress. Hands are a problem as they do get really cold, but some little white scratch mittens.
HTH, enjoy
Edit: it goes against all our caring instincts I know, but babies a&e said to be quite fine cooler, and much better off. The recommended room temp is 16-20 degrees. We strived for 18 degrees in the sleeping room which is actually quite cool.0 -
I can't remember the last time it rained. We're on our third hottest February ever, there is no question that temps are rising throughout the State. And after a couple of days, the house gets hot and it is difficult to sleep. Himself went for a swim at 9pm the night before last. I just lay on the sand in the dark and hoped he didn't float away to Rottnest, 'cause I couldn't see him!
Does your friend have a houseful of little ants, or do I have the monopoly? I'm wondering if they are busy preparing for the coming of the Greatest Flood Ever.
We've had a heck of a lot of rain again today, the AFL field next door is flooded again. I'm glad it's not that hot here though, now that we can't use the AC. How is the humidity there? That seems to be the biggest issue here when it's hot.
I seem to recall her mentioning an ant problem there, but we've had a hell of a year for them too. It got to the stage in the bathroom we had to resort to using stuff from the professional pest control, because the commercial stuff didn't cut it. And ant armageddon when you're on the loo is not good. That said, I wish it was just ants we'd had issues dealing with this summer, other pests have seemed equally as hardy.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

My DD2's house has no heating & she had grobags for all her children when they were babies, now they all sleep with their dressing gowns on when it's cold. My DD1, always slept under her duvet & still does today at 32!

What a lovely image that conjours up SOFTSTUFF, the 'Little Haggis' which presumably lives in abandoned Puffin burrows and is prone to jumping out on hardy walkers at odd times and scaring them witless, bless!!!!! That will keep me smiling all day, thanks, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Morning all, sorry I've not been in for a while - our life's a bit FUBAR at the minute!
(((Hugs to anyone who wants one)))
Rant alert!!
Over the last few years, we've lent our eldest 2 bits of money here and there to bail them out when things "happen" - how can they have so much bad luck? Bad money management, more like! Well, we'd said no more, but now DD's about to be evicted from her flat, completely her own fault for no forward planning, so despite really wanting to teach her a lesson, we are lending enough to stop the eviction, but with a heavy heart. She's going to pay back a reasonable chunk each week/month until her entire debt is gone, and DH told her she can't ask for money ever again. When do young people ever "get it" about planning? Even with our low income I can save a bit, God knows how we'll manage when I finish my job this month, but we will cos I'll make every penny cry for mercy! :rotfl:
Sorry to moan, good people, feel better now and the sun is peeping out!
Going out for dinner tonight (saved up for weeks!) with DH's sisters, child free as DS is babysitting - even getting a lift from SiL so may be able to have a drink if enough cash!

CHEAPSKATE you can never turn off from being parents can you? no matter how annoyed you get with the offsprings, the instinct is always going to be there to help then out of whatever pickle they are currently in. You're just doing what nature intends you to pet, it's involuntary. You'll certainly manage very well when you leave work, because you're a determined little tryer and we'll all help if you need it, that's really what our little band is all about. Always ask, no matter what it is you need to know, we'll somewwhere in the collective knowledge pool have an answer for you. Enjoy the sunshine today and have a lovely dinner out this evening, luxury is not having to wash up after the meal, yes? Look after you, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
