I did jem, DH met with him today. It's looking positive. I am going to visit the house on Saturday.
  • PIC - Go talk to them and ask what really happened and what was actually said by everyone concerned. You only have a note and a confused DS to guide you, you need the whole picture to see what really happened. Try and stay calm, it's easier to deal when you're not stressed. Let us know how you get on, we'll be thinking of you both, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Jem, i would like to once again volunteer my services as chief taster. fudge is my favourite type of sweetie.

I'm also p'd off that DH has taken the curtains down to wash them and they're still wet in the washing machine and it's made the LR really cold, while he's tucked up warm in bed feeling sorry for himself my feet are icy.

eta; i'm not annoyed that he was trying to help, only that he's got half the job done then left me to finish off again.

:) Sorry to takea while to post back; work n'stuff.

I'm such a nitwit I don't know how big an I-pad is; think Nuatha was a help, though?
I have some good news - OH has got a job!!!!! :j :T
It's poopy pay and not really what he was after, but a job is a job is A JOB!!!!! :D:D:D It's through an agency but won't start for nearly a fortnight as it's a MOD contract so he has to go through security clearance and all that. It doesn't have to be forever, at least he will be earning while he looks for the job he really wants.

Anyone job hunting, there are jobs out there. Don't give up hope and don't stop looking for them!:)
    :jOh well done, Mr Thriftyniftyme.:j
It is worth talking to some of the rescue centres to find out if your flat really isn't suitable. Often a small, indoor-only environment is perfect for a 'special needs' cat. Often their special need is only that they can't go outside and need someone to love them :) We had a deaf-blind cat living with us for his final years and once he figured out where the furniture all was he was fine (well, he boffed himself on the head occasionally) :rotfl: and he liked nothing better than to snuggle up on the sofa with us and purr to us how much he liked living here :A
:) Aww, I'm getting tempted. I feel so guilty when I here about cat sanctuaries overwhelmed with pets. Trouble is, there is literally nowhere to put a litter tray in this tiny flat.

My living room is 9 x 12 has the kitchen off one side of it which is 6 x 6 and the hall and bathroom are tiny, too. I've given it a lot of thought, plus I go away for the odd weekend and this isn't the kind of place where you'd ask a neighbour to pop in to feed your precious.

I have to resort to fussing strange cats when out and about. They seem to have a sixth sense for attracting a cat-looking fool, don't they? Happiness has four feet and a tail.

(((((PiC))))) I'm sorry that you've been upset by this note from the school. It does seem to have been clumsily-worded. Perhaps you could ring for an appointment to discuss it face to face to work out what was said?

Any accusation of racism tends to be a hot issue i (and I've no time for racism) but I think this may be an over-reaction to a perfectly-innocent enquiry from the lad which wasn't phrased in the latest PC-speak. As no one has probably taken time out to define to the youngsters in question exactly what is and isn't acceptable in any given situation.

Please don't take it too much to heart, I'm sure it's a storm in a teacup.

Speaking of tea, I need to go and have my meal.

    Laters, GQ xx

PS Sounding good about the house, Fuddle, sending you good vibes. And a collective hug to anyone who needs one tonight (and all the pets, too)
