thankyou MRSL, i know deep down my dad was laughing at me.I was never the normal child!!!! It made my girls smile, and DD fiance and his parents ( our inlaws are lovely, be go on holiday together!!) were there. Theey were the best support ever, and they even took aphoto to show people 'somethign different'. Dad liked flowers but veg were his speciality at growing. On a strange note, the year before he died my dad found on the roadside a rosebush, that had fallen from a trailer going out of a field. He planted it, but came to nothing while he was alive. The summer after he died, it had the most amazing flowers on it, my dad would have been amazed. And they were very fragrant.
Must get my self in gear, work is beconning me. Take care, will pop in late tonight. x
on a similar note, my mom's friend gave her a tiny Japanese maple tree. it grew
for 15 years and shriveled up and died shortly after the death of her friend that gave it to her. Nature works in many strange ways.0 -
My ex tried to stop me attending my Dad's funeral, he sat at the front with my stepmum, I was relegated to the back row & ignored by all.
Ten years ago & I still can't think about it without pain.

missrlr, silvasava and mcculloch
- thanks so much for your posts, just what I needed. Logically these are only small things but when you feel really anxious, things can feel bigger than they really are. I know lots of you will understand this.
Mcculloch :T - the CV advice is brilliant - thanks for taking the time to set all that out for me. I really appreciate it. I have been trying in vain to adapt my old one and I realise now I will need to start afresh and angle it differently.
Good news alert would like to share! Just before the school run got a call followed by a very late letter through the post immediately after to say I have an interview for the volunteer role. So pleased (and now something else to worry about - a panel interview but no pain, no gain huh?)

Hugs ginny - sorry your respite day was ruined like that.

Hester - hugs too.
Molly - what a kind person that vicar was. I'm glad s/he was a comfort to you.

Realised I missed lunch but have been picking the last hour as so hungry... well it is Friday so

Hester, your ex sounds like a right ****.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Another day when I've not accomplished what I set out to do, (ironing).
Never mind, I had Mia for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. Is there anything lovelier than playing with a 5 month old who laughs with great belly laughs, smiles gummy smiles and deep dimples and then goes to sleep on your shoulder -though only after the 55th rendition of "She'll be coming round the mountains".
Nutty: Your wreath sounds wonderful. I wish I had that sort of imagination, it would have just suited my Dad. I did get him a cake for his 80th birthday with fork, trowel, gardening gloves and an overflowing trug of vegetables all made out of icing on the top. But the wreath would have been just right for him. I did do the tribute to Dad at the funeral and had the whole church rocking with laughter so I did my bit!
HH: The more I hear about your ex the harder I find it to see the good in everyone. Some people just don't have any good. At least your Dad had someone at his funeral who was genuinely loving and grieving for him. I wonder if your ex will have that.
Off to do another half an hour's ironing before Emmerdale

Same here Monnagran DH wanted to go out on his trike as it was sunny here & asked me to go with him so I 'womaned up' & put on my new set of CS red leathers & went for a spin - Solent was dead calm & it looked lovely over your way MG I always used to call my DGD 'my favourite waste of time' but time with the littlies is never wasted 'cos it goes all too soon.
So - I hav'n't put my slow cooker on, I hav'n't hoovered & dusted downstairs & I hav'n't made a start on the mending pile - I have helped DH finish off the Lemon Drizzle cake & he's just poured me a Sangria - oh I am so spoilt - hahaSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
SQ congratulations on the volunteer interview, well done you, don't worry about it, you'll be fine!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.
SILVASAVA it will all still be there tomorrow, but you might not have the cracking day to enjoy that it was today, good use of your time today if you ask me!! Wasn't it lovely?0 -
Does anybody know if I can freeze Asda low fat phili type cheese.
It doesn't say on the tub.
I have 3 unopened tubs that need eating by the 11th.
We usually put it on pasta, but as I am not eating it, the cheese has been left in the fridge and forgotten.
They only cost me 50p each, but I don't want to throw them away.0 -
Possibly On My Own though it is not recommended and I had to look up Philidephia as my guide...
