Thanks Popperwell.
I looked on-line but everyone seems to say different things.
As we are not going to be able to eat it all in 3 days, I will just freeze it and hope for the best. I have nothing to lose.
If it thaws yucky I will bin it and use the jar of carbonara sauce we have (that tastes lovely but absolutely stinks for some reason).0 -

I won't say what I think of some of your relatives - but if you could pick and choose them -you would have a small and close bunch. You did everything you could while the person was alive and could appreciate it and the others can get on with empty gestures after the fact."This site is addictive!"

SQ, I'm so pleased my advice helped. That's great. You probably know, but I forgot to mention, that it's a good idea to list education, quals and job history with the most recent first, and do include any voluntary work just as you would a paid post, with (Voluntary) after the details.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Morning all. Have been woken up very early by the postie with a delivery we were not expecting. We bought DD2 a pair of Nike boots as her birthday present last year and she left them at an outdoor center that she spent a week at during the summer (July) on her Summer of a lifetime scheme that she had joined. We contacted the center, they found them and sent them a check as advised to cover postage but they never arrived. Well out of the blue they turned up this morning. We are going to have one happy teenager on our hands when she surfaces from her pit today. What a good start to the weekend.
I am going to treat OH to breakfast in bed this morning as he has been so good this week as I have not been functioning well due to a flare up of my back pain and it has been just about all I could manage to do to go to work this week. I loved Thursday nights tea when I told him I was in too much pain to cook. I have lots of portions of home made meals in the freezer, he brought me the white board off the garage wall that lists everything in the freezer and said here is your menu for tonight :rotfl:, well it made me smileI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Morning all. Mrs veg plot what a lovely surprise for you and your daughter. I also loved the 'menu'. Sometimes a little whimsy helps to lighten an otherwise dreary day.
Savingqueen good luck with your interview.
Silvasaver what a lovely sounding day - it sounds just about perfect to me.
Greyqueen have you sent nursie yet or has she maybe sneaked out behind your back? My children actually washed up with out moaning and arguing last night. They also went to bed and settled for sleep without me moaning at them. Very strange but very welcome.0 -
Nursie texted me first thing; she's holed up in your eldest's wardrobe.
She exercising her old magic, just pretend she's not there unless things get out of hand, in which case don Kevlar and hurl a grenade at her.
She always makes her way back here, eventually.;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning Toughies, we have a very wet day and the hound and I did a 2 hour walkies in it this morning, bleugh!!!!!! I decided that I only wanted one set of wet gear hanging about so went off to do my morning visit to the Co*p in all the gear including muddy wellies, then I caught sight of me in a shop window, and realised just why everyone was laughing!!!!!!! Oh well, they're used to me by now and know I'm harmless!!! I am not sure what we have coming tomorrow in terms of snow as the weather forecast seems to change with every news but have everything we need for a few days and will let it happen, as I can't do anything else. It's sleeting as I type and feels quite cool indoors. It's reading 13.7 on the indoor monitor so I'll keep active and warm up. I'll bet you're glad you had your ride yesterday SILVASAVA, you wouldn't want to be out on the trike today would you?
Hope you are all keeping warm and dry, stay safe Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
I'm struggling a bit at the moment. It's ANOTHER grey day. I had a crap nights sleep, including a nightmare that woke me in tears and gasping for breath. I'm feel like I'm banged up forever with OH who is just not 'engaged' with me any more, and we seem to be right back at the beginning of all the problems moving was meant to solve. I don't know why he came with me TBH? He never wants to do anything, and it's usually DS who walks the dogs with me. Are they all like this by the time they are in their 60's? I know he's older than me (10 years), but I'm up on all the latest stuff (probably because of the kids) and still care what I look like, and want to go and do new things,
Valentines day is a real trigger for me getting depressed, because he will by me a card. It will be a national trust wildlife picture and he'll write "Happy Valentines Day" in it - just like he always does. It feels like a total cop out. I have to decide, again, if I can do this. The last two years I have persuaded myself that I can buy a card that simply says 'Happy Valentines Day" and sign my name in it, much like buying a work colleague a birthday card, but I've ended up leaving it until the last minute because it gives me such issues
It's DS's 21st on the 15th too...so I really don't want this to be the year I loose it. I've been taking anti-depressants for the last five years because of the way he is. and honestly I'm really only here because I can't afford to leave. There I've said it
I think I'll go into town and meet up with DD for an hour or two and try and shake this off a bit.

katie ((hugs)) I think valentines day triggers difficulties for lots of people, certainly me - I have told the kids I want to ignore it this time and hope OH forgets
My OH just doesnt get it at all - no matter what I say he cannot grasp it, so I would rather we ignore it. Is that something you could do - just agree to lat it pass?
