Whiskers: it's the drop in oestrogen levels (sp?). They don't get weaker with plucking, it just seems like they get stronger and stronger. I look out for hair-removing cream at the pound shop and stockpile a couple of tubes whenever I see any. I'm thinking that using it twice a week isn't often enough. Honestly, I could cry sometimes, it's so humiliating feeling like I'm turning into a man.
Good luck with the job unixgal!
SDG: just go on ruddy strike. It wasn't until my mother sat down and cried after being treated totally thoughtlessly by the rest of the family that we sat up and took notice of all the hard graft she did. I could have died from the guilt and never forgot it.0 -

That's on the cards for me Wednesday this week...I've been sent to the GP by my optician as they've picked signs of cholesterol up in my eyeballsSigh. I know they will want me to diet, but I've been looking and I really don't think I eat a lot of high cholesterol stuff...there's a chance I'm just prone to the signs and don't actually have it

Good luck on Wensday, and it is posable it could be a misshaped eye ball, like mine was, which gave the sign's of glaucoma.£71.93/ £180.000 -
Well done with getting an interview unixgirl - good luck!
Fuddle - I bought the Aldi foundation recently in a bid to save money and really like it. I haven;t been to hairdressers for an age ( a good year I guesstimate) and ditto with the home hair dye kits but I'm not ready to ditch the warpaint yet - helps my confidence and mine is more grooming than glamour anyway.
(((((SDG))))) - you deserve a break and afraid its up to you to put your foot down - have a tantrum, shout, sob, go on strike, whatever it takes but get your point across and some help. I feel I am running a hotel here at times and I'm trying to gradually change things. I think you need a more dramatic approach and if it means leaving the house to hide away in a cafe, a library, at a friends, in the car or wherever - just go. If you need a nap and feel too guilty to so say, tell a porkie if needs be - terrible headache. You have to get crafty and think of your needs at the moment.
nearly falling asleep as I type so will switch off the lappy and hopefully off to the land of nod

I tried hair rmoval cream but found it just made the hair stretchy, I then went from tweezing, to waxing, I'm now 61 & shave every morning, depressing? Yes, but better than going to work with a beard.

On a bizarre note, why is facial hair on women so unacceptable?? It's not as if it's uncommon or bizarre, but even the most logical and low-maintenance of us don't go as far as to leave it on there. I gave in to grey hair when I hit 30 and I'm fine with that, evangelical even, but I'll be damned if people see me beardy.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Good luck for Friday's interview, unix.
Softstuff, I'm very low maintenance (notice the lack of make up tips beause I never wear any) but the facial hair? Nope, not going to let that sit there.
I recall a woman of 30 ranting humourously about The Things No One Tells You About Having a Baby. Her chief rant was the chin hairs she'd acquired with pregnancy which seemed intent on hanging around forever after. It's possibly the last taboo.
Mind you, I saw an old boy last year with a clump of hairs along the middle of his nose, not a monobrow, just a random outpost of hairness. There's always some burger worse off than you....Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Good Morning!!!! We have the yellow ball popping up just over the garden fence. Nice to see it back again in full force. The wind has dropped too, so will attempt to peg the washing out later on.
Re the foundation, my daughter uses the natural collection from bo0ts and its 1.99 . We too have also bought some makeup from aldi, and eldest DD is a beutician and she said it was very good. The factory shop (if you have one) often have some bargains in there.
Today i need to top the prepayment meters up, i forgot to do it friday as i was working and saturday they had to be put on the emergency function. And yesterday i forgot again lol
I also have to go to shopping again, i thought i was doing so well but then when i was putting it all away i noticed a couple of things i had forgotten. OH rang this mornign and said i forgot to get him any pastys for his lunch. I would make them all the time but sometimes it just isnt possible due to work.

Morning all! My yellow ball is pale and weak looking but at least it isnt raining. I have a load of washing to put on the line shortly and i think it will actually dry for a change.
I've managed to get rid of most of the smell of WD40 from my bedroom and thankfully it was the pillows rather than my headboard so new pillows to be bought today.
Unixgirl - good luck with your job interview.0 -
Morning Toughies, clear and cold but sunny this morning and with a hefty breeze blowing, weather forecast says it will freshen through the day and get very cold. I have a real treat this evening my lovely SIL and I are having a very rare trip to the cinema to see The Hobbit and she has suggested a meal beforehand. We have decided to go to a chinese buffet near the cinema and I'm so looking forward to both, she'a lots of fun so it should be a nice evening.
When I was diagnosed with high blood pressure my GP recommended using Bene*ol products, I know they are very expensive but his advice was to use the margarine spread and just a couple of slices of bread spread with it each day would be beneficial, so it needn't cost a fortune, hope that's useful.
Thank you all for sharing the facial hair dilemmas we have, my problem started with the first pregnancy and has just got worse as the years have rolled by, I thought I was the only one with this as a problem, you have stopped me feeling freaky this morning, bless you all it's been a lot of years on my own, Ta muchly!!!!!
Have a good day all, we are having a little expedition to Lidl this morning in the hope of finding another sack of onions at a reasonable price and some of their lovely greek yoghurt, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Re facial hair, i asked DD if this was a problem for many ladies. She said yes, and most have theor eyebrows waxed and then the top lip and chin. She even has one lady i to have the sides of her face waxed!!!! Seems everyone has some but at varying degrees. My daughter is 21 and she does her 'tash as she calls it.
Oh and a horrible though, she has to pluck ear hairs from someone too. yuckBSC member 137
