Hi everyone, MIA yesterday did a full 14 hours work. Today im just tired. Kidcat my thoughts are with you, i hope your uncle gets to see his son. SDG you need some me time, easier said than done some time.
I have done the family shop today, we wnt to @ldi as i had the newspaper coupon from thursday. I think he was plesantly surprised with what i spent, or didnt as the case may be. I had to add DD shopping in with mine as i had only spent justover £30. I think she was grateful, seems even she is finding things difficult.
We have new neighbours, they dont speak....... well thats ok. Just dont think they will be popular with the other residents when they block their driveways in!!! Think im glad im at work in the day now.
Have done the washing, all dried in the TD would have pegged it out but its only just above freezing. I too remember the items coming when i was little totally frozen solid. And then creaking as mum folded it onto the clothes horse. I also remember frost/ice on the inside of the windows!!!
Take care everyone.BSC member 137

Yeah, families can be ingrates, sometimes.
One of my uncles worked for a wealthy businessman for decades and had got used to some very fine dining courtesy of his employer. His wife was a superb cook and kept a very fine table.
His reaction? To carp on how much she spent on housekeeping compared to other men's wives.
She told him bluntly that if he wanted to eat the kind of food those men were eating, she could bring the housekeeping in to that budget. Just tell her when he wanted to start. But if he wanted the gourmet dinners, she was going to have to keep spending what she was spending.
He never played that game again.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have just posted a severe weather warning on the SHTF thread. Thanks folks, stay safe and warm“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0

Had a shock. Been spreading my wings and venturing around MSE. I asked for foundation recommendations as my skin is changing. I looked up the price and it was £30. Having been around here for so long I forget that MSE isn't about not having money. I can't pay £30 for foundation. That is half my weekly shopping budget. I wish I could go au natural. The problem is, if I do my confidence takes a nose dive. What a ridiculous problem huh?
Just watched a piece on Countryfile about farming (surprise, surprise) the farmers wife was saying that they didn't make any profit last year. She was asked how they survived. Tax credits.
A farmer and his wife, working horrendously for nothing. Taking from the state because they have to. I'm angry on their behalf. Is this the supermarkets fault?

Busy day tomorrow the electrics to be checked out and I may have to see a Dr...it appears I have my first eye stye...got adive from the North East's own NHS Direct and in passing I was told that more younger people are phoning up suffering with gout and they cannot work out why...
My run in with gout some months ago was blamed on the tablets I take for water retention..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Probably many reasons but one morning I had the farming radio programme on and there were people in the farming profession receiving food from a food bank and needing help from a charity! Fuddle, lots of people swear by Aldi make up. EG their concealer is reckoned to be just as good as Touche Eclat by Yves St Laurent and the packaging looks vitually indistinguishableIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Fuddle I use a foundation that is sold in Lidl stores..its really good, has natural ingredients and blends in perfectly. Even with my sensitive skin and allergies it suits be great...and its only about three euros here. I think the brand is called Aveda..
Pops wasn't there an old wives tale that you can get rid of a stye on the eyelid by touching it gently with a gold ring? Hope it gets better soon.
Had a rough night, I went for the curry last night and felt strange afterwards, then found it hard to breathe and was in a lot of pain..definitely an allergic reaction to something in it. I had my tablets with me and had to take more when I got home. My other half was in agony with burning indigestion and felt ill all night and most of today....we suspect there was chilli in the curry but no way of knowing. We won't ever eat there again..they promised me it would be flour/gluten free but I am sure it wasn't ...very disappointing.“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -

I can't believe thatThanks both. I actually found my Aldi today. There is one is S'ton Kez Off the High Street though. Not found Lidl yet but definitely will try them! I have used Aldi moisturiser before and found it no different to others. I'm using E45 on my face at the minute and I think it's having a detrimental effect bizarrely enough

What make was the £30 stuff out of interest? I'm afraid that foundation is one of my last remaining extravagances being desperately pale and interesting (Clinique girl) but I found an unopened one in the drawer last time I tidied up which as a blessing. Do you have a 'factory shop' near you? cos' I've had some cracking cosmetic bargains from there. Including a huge tub of mineral powder which was about £4 (IIRC it was Calvin Klein!)
I saw Country File too...yes, can't say I'm surprised. Desperate times for farmers! Weren't the red squirrels cute?
