Westcoastscot, I'd rather no-one left at all(and not just because I'm scared of the idea of Mardatha without sweeties), that isn't what this thread is.

We shouldn't all have to agree with each other at all. Heck, much like the average community, we don't even all have to like each other. But surely we can agree to live and let live, ignore if we must, skip posts we can't contribute to and support where we can.

Morning all! DD is at her work trial right at this moment, and I'm biting my nails! Waiting for the phone call.

I'm also having my long awaited second tattoo this afternoon, and feeling a bit nervous! :o I don't know why! The other one was fine. I haven't the slightest intention of growing old gracefully, and this is my way of proving it :P

DS and OH are [STRIKE]playing[/STRIKE] working in OH's workshop. DS has been asked to make a wooden dog barrier by one of my friends, and OH is supervising him using the equipment. Nice to see DS out of bed for something useful, hope it motivates him to 'do' a bit more. I've plenty of little jobs he can practice on!

I think the yellow ball is out to play...which will be nice, I'd like to get the dogs out again later, maybe for another socialising walk with DD's. It's a bit odd, my 'dodgy' girl is absolutely fine with him, she'll let him walk right up along side her, sniff nicely and everything, but the one who is usually OK with other dogs, tries to pretend he's not there, and gets all skittish if he goes near her... mind you the first time he met her he tried to hump her head...so maybe she's bearing a grudge!

Anyway, tonight's dinner will be toad in the hole with some YS mini chipolatas, but I must buy some milk while I'm in town!

Byatt, I used to work for a water company and they have huge pipe cut offs. Even if you approach workmen laying or repairing new pipes the might give you offcuts. They will think you are nuts but aren't we all!

    Some good news today.

Just before Christmas I won a marzipan hamper in a magazine giveaway.

It arrived today and I have about 3.5 pounds of assorted chocolate covered marzipan to eat, just tried a couple of pieces and it is very rich so think it will last me quite a awhile.:)

OOh! Bigjenny that sounds a lovely prize!
Happy Birthday Rosie! I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your fish and chips. My ham sandwich is looking very dull in comparison.
I have been to work and been shopping and only got a little damp in the process. Need to do some more work very soon but enjoying a cup of coffee first.

Thank you so much boultdj for your kind post and the previous one about my stammer. You certainly have not overstepped the mark! I feel a little better today, trying to concentrate on what needs doing like the application for the volunteering and pre-course prep rather than worrying. I am coming out of my comfort zone and I know my reaction is a normal (for me) response.

Getting the family on board is hard as kids moan so much when asked to help. I have been working on them doing little things for a while and I know eventually it will be a habit and they won't moan. Also been working on DH, again hard as he is studying, working full-time in a demanding job and commuting. He has also got used to me doing virtually anything and everything within the household. Slowly slowly catchee monkee!

I have decided to write my whole week(s) out like a timetable and cut out/down on things until my priorities fit - course time, my down time, family time, chores etc. I won't have as much time for friends which I am trying to explain but getting nowhere fast as each one is saying, that's ok, we will still find time to get together. I really don't want to take their friendship for granted but health, family and getting back to work eventually have to take precedence at the moment. I think I will have to arrange a couple of eves out and also invite several friends who may not know each other to come over together. I hope that suggestion will go down ok with them- expand their social circle and all that?

I am going to try and do more cooking and baking at weekends to help in the week. Will try the baking idea - think they might go for that thanks.

Thanks for sharing what happenned 7 years ago - you had an awful lot to cope with.

    Thanks also nutty.

    sq:)
