I think I'm mixed up now...sorry to confuse you, the post I thought I had quoted from was not one of yours, I was just belatedly acknowledging both at the same time and I guess I was a little taken aback by what had happened at the time but I think all is ok again?

I hope so...even I am having difficulty working out what I was on about which isn't difficult...call it a senior moment...

Popperwell no problem:) I have a fair few senior moments myself. Life is not easy.

I didn't understand the rabbit thing either - we don't have that saying about 1st of the month and rabbits here.
Can somebody tell me more about the nasties in shop bought bread and cakes? I find I can't eat them now, there must be something in them that doesn't agree with me. And what fruit has wax on it?
Sorry for all the questions :)
  • Morning all and what a soggy start to the day. It has been bucketing down here. I hope it stops before i go shopping. One of my lovely cousins has tracked down a foam flop out chair bed for my dad so we are going to collect it tomorrow. Its in as new condition but half the price of the ones in argos so dad is very happy. He is currently sharing a bedsit with little brother and it only has a single bed with no space for another. This chair bed will just fit and make life a little more comfy for them:).
dad has applied for the council but is waiting for the registration to go through so he can bid for properties.
    Dippypud those rabbits are gorgeous!

I think that was very diplomatic of you meme30:T

There have been several rather questionable posts on here over the last day or so and it all makes for a very uncomfortable reading and unpleasant atmosphere.

Sorry for all the questions :)

Fea*hers/human hair in bread -not sure which.
Nasties allowed in choc*late - I was so shocked!
Something disgusting in icec*eam -double yuk!
Wax on Lemons* and possibly other fruit.

Have a G**gle and you will find it:( I couldn't believe it!

:) Hi Mar, citrus is waxed and often apples are, too.

Re shop-bought bakery goods, they contain so-called "flour improvers" which translate as "unnecessary additons to make this bread flour take up extra water and puff up with air so we can sell you a bigger heavier loaf which won't satisfy your appetite but will enhance our profits considerably."

We never did identify what it was, but there's something in shop-bought pies (talking meat pies) which triggered my brother's epileptic fits. Scary. He avoids eating processed meat products, just very plain stuff like chops etc.

I'm mooching around on a website called Mark's Daily Apple at the moment and reading up about the primal and paleo types of eating. I'm finding starches make me feel very very sluggish. And the last thing we ME-ers need is extra-sluggish.

It'd be a big liefstyle change and I haven't done anything concrete about it, but am at the research and consideration stage. I'm middling-cynical about health kicks, anyroad.

  • Dippypud - It was lovely to log on this morning and see those gorgeous rabbits. It brightened a grey morning.

I'm another one looking into changing my electricity supplier. I just loved the letter from E.on saying that my plan was coming to an end, they have decided to put my on this other plan - although they do have cheaper ones if I choose to ring them! Now, maybe it's me, but why not put me on the cheapest one right away?!! So, I'll be visiting the comparison sites in the next week or so. I must admit I'm not very loyal. I've only been with E.on for a year but if I can save a few £ then I am going to.

Got the day off today (it's my birthday) so am going to get ready and go to the beach - well wrapped up as it's pretty cold and windy out there. Might even have fish and chips later (I know how to live!!).

  • Rat hair in chocolate? This is terrible.

... Off to google to see which brands to avoid in future ...

:bdaycake: Happy Burfday Rosie. Hope you have a great day. And an exhilarating blowy winter day at the beach is a treat. F & C is probably mandatory, too. ;)
