This bedroom tax? Erm, does it not just encourage people to have more children to fill the rooms. Child benefit alone reducing any savings? Just a thought

I'm sorry I missed this post and another by Elizabunny...I am using it for the reason it is intended and it will be put to good use...I don't intentionally ignore anyone...I've been reasonably cosy this past week...

Fuddle I'm supposed to be on a good plan(but perhaps not so)as I have standing charges but it was a case of...standing charges, cheaper gas and electric or no standing charges but the electric and gas costs more...I'm with NPower and my bills were supposed to be frozen until the end of October.

** I'm slightly puzzled about this reference to my post:huh:. I have no knowledge of CWP and made no mention of it any of my posts.

Certainly there has been much dicussion on the thread recently about heating/bills etc. and some of my recent posts have reflected my own position on heating with reference to my own circumstances and not anyone else's. Just wanted to clear that up.

Your post did not mention CWP but was before the one I did mention and quoted from by someone else, so I can verify what you say, I was just acknowledging it...even though I had not replied to it as such...

Sorry Popperwell but could you please elaborate? I cannot find anyone quoting from my posts today and I don't need anything verifiying because I know what I posted.

Maybe, it's just me but I really do not understand what you are trying to say to me:o apologies.....

Byatt:- It's lovely to see you falling in love with your cat.:)

Fuddle:- Driving confidence comes back, just give it time.

Ginnyknit:- So pleased that your garden is nearly sorted, it sounds like it's going to make a big difference to you.

Thanks for the ideas for the cakes, I will let you know how it goes.:)

softstuff - thank you for mentioning the book - it has not arrived and I had forgotten, I have now been prompted to chase it up :)

kezlou - I want one:) but my two currently would fight over it, we had a small nice one and not one of our cats has even sat on it - no interest at all. DS8 on the other hand loved it to bits and regularly tried to cram his body into the hidey holes, I had to get rid after that - was terrified he would get stuck :)

    Evening all

Had sad news this morning - my lovely sister and her OH are separating.:( So sad, especially as she said they just don't like each other anymore. She has had a pretty hard time since she became an adult - one abusive relationship, being left as a single mother with pretty much nothing as she and the baby had to flee for their lives, and now a failed marriage. We knew things were hard for them, but not that it had come to this. Helpless. THat's the second bit of bad news in a week, a colleague's husband has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Dreading the third now. :(

I wonder if I may ask some advice? My 16 year old daughter is overweight - probably by at least a stone. My OH thinks we should speak to her about it but she is such a body confident girl I don't want to knock that out of her. We encourage her to eat healthily and don't have much in the way of Carp food in the house. She could do more exercise but, as said, I don't want to be seen to be nagging her as she is actually confident in herself. I know I could post in the families board but I don't want them to tell me I am a dreadful parent or that I should leave my husband (which seems to sum up most of the advice :rotfl:) and you guys seem like mates :p I know some here have "mother" issues, and I don't want her to think that I am not on her side, so what would you do? I would be grateful for any advice.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

((hugs)) VJsmum thats so hard to get two lots of bad news. As for your DD my what a toughy, could you do it as a family online checker type of thing, where you type in your weight body type etc and it tells you to lose weight? I wouldnt fancy telling her outright she needs to lose weight, I would be trying to subtlely alert her to signs and allow her to make her own conclusion
