Flipping eck! just taken me a hour to catch up. :rotfl:
I really am hoping that that is the worst of the dratted fireworks over. They seemed to get even louder last night. Even my grunpy but usually sensible Sky dog left her tea half way through to bark at them. We were out last night so left both dogs in the living room with the tv on rather than out in their kennel.
Despite planning to take earplugs to the Motorhead gig last night we both forgot as usual. I have a strange fuzzy, buzzing noise this morning. It needs to go away before tonight as I will be topping it up with more loud rock music. Then we will be staying in till next year! (Tickets for both were budgeted for and paid for a couple of months ago so I don't feel too bad!)
Hugs to all that want one, especially the four leggeds.0 -
Well done to Mr Possession and Mr Thriftyniftyme. :j"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

I was just thinking.. wonder if there is a market now for jobs like general housekeeping/childminding/dog&cat minding, living in. If you were a high flyer who had a great job in a city, with stress levels going through the roof - wouldn't it make sense to have a Mrs Doubtfire at home ? And plenty folk would be glad of a roof and heating plus a small wage. I think that kind of job would be good if you were single.
Aria - I wouldnt waste rice pud on them. Can you get tins of kale??0 -
MAR - How about getting a lock for the empty cupboard and putting a notice on the outside saying Private - do not open, then standing back to watch the RVs reaction? Harmless fun eh? Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Not seen you posting before, redruby ? Are you new?
Redruby's been posting on old style even longer than you Mardatha. She's probably a sporadic lurker like me.

As many other folks on here have suggested, do as we do and use the ignore button. I cannot recall one time when anyone else's needs or problems have featured in the ME,ME,ME, POOR ME liturgy that pours forth limitlessly. .
Can I just say that I think that's quite unfair. I have seen lots of posts by Popperwell which are very helpful to others.
I am really shocked to see people talking about using the ignore button on the actual thread. I agree with Kidcat on this one. It should be kept to pm or it just gets really nasty and no one deserves that.
In the spirit of the title of the thread I'd like to say that I hope both Fuddle and Popperwell are feeling ok now. x0 -
This thread moves way too fast for me! I only read it yesterday tea time and there are pages and pages more now!
Chilly here! Off out for tea for a birthday meal tonight - looking forward to that although one of the ladies going really hates me so I will be walking on eggshells! Even though she has been retired for 2 years so we rarely see each other she is still awful to me.
Little things just seem to be getting to me at the moment. I am just so over sensitive. I bought a top at a charity shop (I like buying clothes there or on eBay as I can't afford to spend much) and when asked about it at work was honest about where it came from. This lead to dig after dig from another lady about dirty clothes and how she would NEVER EVER consider wearing second hand clothes. She is on more than double what I earn and her husband has a really well paid job.
Things like that just upset me. I am not well off nor am I counting every penny but it bothers me when people make snap judgements about people who do shop in charity shops.
:rotfl: I must be super ratty today! Off to go make a birthday card and figure out how to wrap a candle!0 -

Well said HJGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0
