  • Ok panic attack over with.... I thought everyone was hibernating until I saw that you had a new thread.
I am owned by 2 senior pugs who spend the day snoring farting and generally following my every move ( when not snoring) they are lovely and very loyal, I couldn't pay them to leave!!! Mya is 10 and Kizzy is 11 which is a good age for pugs, the only down side is with the recent weather they would much rather pee in their bed and sleep in it than get their dainty paws wet outside...... getting fed up of putting them in the garden at midnight and them looking at me like they have been mis treated( staring at me like "what am I supposed to do now eyes) Unfortunately being a single parent I am not able to take them on a walk at that time of night, but with their age I find they cannot hold out til morning most of the time even if they do manage a tinkle at midnight!! I have tried everything over the last few years taking water away at 6pm etc nothing seems to work... thank the lord for plastic beds, took me a few years to figure that one out!!! anyhow now that I have rambled on I must go out and give the chickens some corn... they are such soldiers in the face of egg giving, we had an 85g egg that measured 8cm width yeeouch!!!! this morning, maybe its a double yolker who knows!!!, Hoping you are all warm and toasty we currently have lovely winter sunshine and I have just stocked up the bird table and feeder with seeds and fat balls.:T

I have some good news - OH has got a job!!!!! :j :T
It's poopy pay and not really what he was after, but a job is a job is A JOB!!!!! :D:D:D It's through an agency but won't start for nearly a fortnight as it's a MOD contract so he has to go through security clearance and all that. It doesn't have to be forever, at least he will be earning while he looks for the job he really wants.

Anyone job hunting, there are jobs out there. Don't give up hope and don't stop looking for them!

Plan for the rest of the day is - OH is deep cleaning the bathroom and the hallway. I am rearranging the stock cupboard because I need some space back to store christmas presents. I'm not very mobile at the moment but I'll manage that okay.

    Hugs to all :)

Congrats! And a big hug too. No it might not be the best pay but its a job and its a good employer to have on his CV. I've been there so I know what's its like. I volunteered in a CS to fill in the time whilst job hunting (both times after being made redundant). If i can say one thing though? Tell him to enjoy the time he has now until he starts as he doesn't need to worry about finding a job. :o

I hope this snowballs for him into something he does want to do.

Oh my what a catch up :(

I have to apologise as I think my snappy post last night probably triggered the ensuing chaos. I am very sorry, I should never have been snappy but doctors and their middle class well meaning advice is a bit of a personal bug bear of mine.
That said I am really sad with all this talk of ignoring people, I appreciate that sometimes there are people who we may for a time want to avoid but can that not be done quietly and sensitively without causing upset?

I bought a poppy for my car today as wearing one causes issues with DS8 if he gets the pin and it occurs that the wonderfully kind gentleman who served me today fought, was injured and lost family and friends in order that we may all have the right to speak freely.

I think I am going to take a break for a few days as I really do feel I have kicked this latest spat off and I am cross with myself for that.
This thread has supported so many people me included, and been a life line I would hate to in any way contribute to its demise.

Kidcat - I really don't think it was you, please don't go! - or Fuddle. The Ignore button is your friend, it is there for a purpose. Don't feel bad about using it, we can't all agree with everyone.

I have to take exception Byatt, and put the record straight - twas not a goggie but a lolcat - :Dhttp://speaklolspeak.com/page/G+%E2%80%93+I

I get the Icanhascheezburger email every day and it cheers me up!

  • Oh KIDCAT - you are such a support and good friend to all of us, it would be an unnatural world if differences of opinion didn't happen, as in real life. It's no ones fault, least of all yours or anyone elses, these things always happen when you have thinking people communicating with each other and always resolve themselves in a few days. I suggested an ignore policy to give all parties some time out without feeling the need to justify or explain which always seems to prolong exchanges. I'm not taking sides or passing judgement I would like to see harmony restored for all. Please don't leave us, we need you and your input and we'd miss you very much if you weren't posting, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Thriftynifty - just a thought - if your DH is being checked out for security for the MOD this is quite useful to put on a CV for the future
    Good Luck to you both

OOps - Unix beat me to it!!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

  • JEM - Click on the username and a drop down box appears with options, the ignore option is at the bottom. Click on the writing and it will operate the service for you. Should you wish at a later date to do so, there is an un-ignore option that you can use to be able to read the posts. Hope that helps, Lyn xxx.
