    Thanks Molly,
I know its what many have to do. We are always adapting and its what I mentioned about that programme earlier in the thread about learning to let go and not dwell on the future either.

More good days than bad over the last few weeks. Even Mum used to say panic attacks can only last so long...

Think I'll have drink of tea and I may have a small sandwich. Then I may see if I can settle again and get some sleep.

    xx

When I lived in the states in my 20's I used to suffer from terrible panic attacks, a therapist taught me to visualize a big field with a gingham red picnic blanket and all of the picnic food, why did I choose that food? did I bake it? ( maybe she was mse too). at the time i thought she was batty, however it really did help concentrating on each individual picnic item along with breathing. hope you feel better popper, I feel your pain it's a horrid thing, however feel safe in the knowledge that it will soon pass as the body cannot produce enough ATP energy to keep going like that and so it will pass after a period of time... we are learning this in biology at the moment.... feel better hunni xx

What a beautiful day! Happy New Year!

No resolutions here except for me to take stock of my weight, healthier eating and banish the low mood induced gorging.

I spent New Year's Eve writing out my piece for the deposit scheme. Odd I know but cathartic as I've now let it all go. I was in a state last night.

7ww my knees are no longer sore but thinking about ceasing couchto3k until I loose a stone. I've a heck of a lot of walking to do and thought about trying power walking training. In wondering if the twisting action rather than weight bearing would be easier on the knees?

Were off to a country park today, let the girls run free and is tangled up in dogginess.

Kidcat, I hope you're all ok

Pops, when I have a panic attack I hit my wrists together 1) for distraction and 2) as an act of difiance ie bashing it away. If that doesn't work I give myself a ruddy good talking too mentally. I second the AD's as a tool to use to break the anxious/panicking cycle. I can't remember that last time I had a panic attack now and they were once sometimes as frequent as bi weekly.

I hope each Nd everyone of us can raise a smile today, think positively and think fondly upon the gift of life and loved ones past and present.

I am so different to how I was earlier...perhaps it was something to do with waking up so suddenly. I will keep a close eye on things...especially as I have been doing so well.

Sometimes it happens to me when I've been in an all action stations mode for a bit because of caring for others a really busy time or other stresses. I kind of push my feelings to one side in order to deal with the immediate crisis.

Later on when stuff has calmed down, I feel all out of sorts and agitated. I think personally it's because I couldn't allow those feelings to surface while all the problem stuff is going on, but once it's calmed down I unconciously allow them to suface.

I suppose it's just deferring the inevitable, in some ways I don't think it's a bad thing, I guess when you have genuine empathy then that generates feelings that have to be dealt with sooner or later.
    Keep well,
    bb

pops - glad you managed to pick up a little, sometimes these things just hit us and then we can gather ourselves to fight on :)

katie - yes we sat watching the fireworks and my DD18 said the same, as for the biscuits - they all need to lose weight anyway!! Give em stale bread and tap water

7up- yes we are going to do something for him in the garden and I will also plan something special as a way of memorial, it was all so sudden and so shocking that I couldnt think yesterday, thankfully DS14 emerged from his room later in the evening and sat with DD18 and I to let the new year in:)

My parents are coming for dinner today as usual, have to say I really gave it no thought yesterday so am chasing somewhat to catch up.
Off back to the stove again now, I hope you are all having a peaceful day :)
  • KIDCAT - How about planting a Hazel Bush as a memorial to puss, the humour of Catkins on it each year might make DS14 smile, and it will be useful if it sets nuts too. Glad he has come out of his room and good luck with the parental visit and dinner, Cheers Lyn xxx.
  • Kidkat sorry to hear your news. I hope your son is OK I know how difficult auty/ADHD kids find these things.

    Fuddle apology appreciated and accepted.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, healthy and happy 2013. I think we proved in 2012 that between us we can help and support each other through the toughest of times and celebrate each others happy times and achievements. Here's to continuing that through 2013.

Now where's the seed catalogue I have planning to do?
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Happy New year to one and all....we went to a fancy dress party and saw in both the Greek new year and the British one two hours later. Hence we did not get to bed till 4am. Missed the shotguns that are fired in celebration as we were in a resort rather than our village and didn't see any fireworks from Corfu town either. I drove home as I had only been on soda water as usual but my husband wasn't even tipsy.

Took our own food to eat and I am glad I did as everyone took things I cannot eat (with gluten in ). It seems they were sick of them as well as they ate all the gluten free healthy food I took to share and left the other.

Aching all over from getting in the wood and stacking it yesterday afternoon, so a quiet day in front of the fire is on the cards . Just had pheasant (slow roast in the oven) for dinner along with mash and veggies, then made a banoffee type pudding with Greek yogurt that was to die for. Full now and ready for a snooze while my OH watches Dr . Who on the Greek tv (in English with Greek subtitles).

Later on I might even get round to hoovering up...my pink fushia boa shed feathers all over the house last night when I got home....they are everywhere LOL..next time I will buy a more expensive one...
