Happy New Year everyone, I wish you all a happy year free from ill health and disasters:)0

Thanks Everyone,
Headache seems to have gone and leg is improved but will take it easy. Had a cup a soup too and may decide to have a little snack soon:)
Nice and cosy in bed too. It is so quiet around here, all the houses are in darkness, people have given up on partying, been this way for years.

Its so noisy here Pops, I dragged my eldest two out to let the new year in, there were literally hundreds of fire works and loads of our neighbours are outside, they arent being really rowdy just enjoying themselves.
OH is up for work in 4 hrs though so wont be impressed.
I've been awake 40hrs now and it seems will be awake a while longer as the fireworks are still going like crazy - they are really noisy, am surprised DS8 and DD6 havent woken with it.0 -
Happy New Year to you all! Still awake at nearly 2am! DH and I have been on the champers and now I have gone past being sleepy. Little bit longer on here and then will try and sleep. Think we will regret it tomorrow when the kids are crashing about but felt the need to do something to see the old year out and new year in. The champagne was a wedding anniversary pressie from me to DH in the summer and we didn't get round to drinking it then (??!!) so didn't cost anything.
Too tipsy to reply properly to posts sorry but will catch up properly soon. Wishing you lovely people the best of everything for 2013.

Hi Kidcat and Saving Queen,
Glad someone is trying to have a Happy New Year...I went to sleep but woke up perhaps half an hour ago and had to get up. I think I am having a panic attack and as yet haven't found a way to control it. I hate being a drama queen...as many have much worse to deal with.
Yes I am missing Mum but I think it is hitting home all the possible changes I have to face sorting myself and whether I can stay put or whether I will move somewhere that I hate and whether I will have enough income.
And yet it may still all work out fine...panic attacks can't last forever and it may all look different in the morning.
Take Care Everyone...

Distraction works well for panic attacks and get control of your breathing - perhaps listen to some soothing music. Take it a day at a time xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Thanks Molly,
I know its what many have to do. We are always adapting and its what I mentioned about that programme earlier in the thread about learning to let go and not dwell on the future either.
More good days than bad over the last few weeks. Even Mum used to say panic attacks can only last so long...
Think I'll have drink of tea and I may have a small sandwich. Then I may see if I can settle again and get some sleep.

Breathe in for a count of three in your head, hold for a count of three, then breathe out for a count of three pops. Try not to think of anything apart from the count, repeat four or five times.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Thank you Softstuff...
I can't pin down a particular thing that is upsetting me just a general feeling. I am going to see if I can sleep some more and if not I can listen to the radio quietly. Perhaps it is more like anxiety.
I have always thought things seem worse in the early hours of morning...that was why I liked to keep Mum company overnght in the Nursing Home as there was a familar face when you wake and are all alone."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy.
