Can I just add to the good news? Well, sort of.
I had a job interview today (in a country house hotel; joint poshest location I've ever had for an interview).
It was for a pt post but is really well paid. I will have to travel a bit, if I get it, but the good news is it went very, very, well.
Even if I don't get it, I really enjoyed the interview.
Night out tonight too - party time at the live music club.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Just re-read properly - Smileyt, well done. I had four years of having to sign on in the holidays, I quite often met some of my students in the job centre. Luckily I had a job to go back to and was allowed to sign on.
Since I got my e-tutor's post I haven't had to do that.
Unixgirl, good luck!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Unixgirl, good luck! I found this site very helpful when I was preparing for my interview: http://www.best-job-interview.com/customer-service-interview-questions.html Especially the questions to ask them and make yourself look intelligent! I really think that preparing so many answers beforehand swung the interview for me, too.Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I think it's an old Music Hall joke but I [STRIKE]am[/STRIKE] oops, have nuts at any time the price is right.:D
Still mourning the ending of the Tosspot brand of value peanuts at 29p a pop, last seen early 2012.
Have just scarfed down a punnet of YS blueberries and have 2 more for the rest of the week, happy days. Haven't had a blueberry for months, don't like them at full price, the taste is a wee bit off, IYKWIM.;)
All righty, time to visit with some other spots on the web and see what some of my fave bloggers are up to.
Smiling at all the good news we have had today on the thread and hoping that job apps and health probs will all come through well for the rest of us. I'm really looking forward to Crimble as a break from my routine, working the Eve then off til New Year. Hooray!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I can't read back on this blasted phone but it looks as if its been a lovely day for many of us today! Well done on all the good news and a big hug for those who have had a pants day.
All is well here. Money is flying out left right and centre. £30 for this bracket, £8 for these wall fixings, £25 for the ariel (DH figured it out himself) Too many takeaways and an extra tyre round my middle but were nearly there! Throughout this year I have read negatives and mocking about why prep for Christmas all year, why think about winter preps in te summer etc an ill tell you if I hadn't prepped for all those things theoughout the year we would be up the creek without a paddle right now. No spare money left so have to be very very careful. We can do it though
Alfie has really struggled with the move. He was a very sad doggy and spent the first couple of nights howling because of his anxiety. he's not on medication yet Lyn and pleased to report he's a different dog today. It's like he's settled but also switched on to learn all his new rules like where to lie down while we eat and to go in the kitchen when the door knocks. Bless him he even has learned to sit on the mat when we come in from walks and offers his paw to get cleaned lol (all fr a treat mind you, Alfie learns and complies solely for food reward!) I think he's gonna be alright
We visited the girls' school and boy it's lovely. I'm thrilled with it. We've been very lucky with the whole darn thing. The walk is earn, mammoth but the school encourages biking anyway and has bike sheds.
Stressed beyond belief with different performances, carol concerts, parties and achievement assemblies but soon it all with a huge smile on my face!
Also great news, DH is not going to get sky. That was the final non frugal thing we had and now that's ceased.
The river is very close indeed but it's got some hefty banks to climb and not forgetting the barrage controlling the river flow. Also thermostat doesn't work. Electrician coming to rewire it. Radiators are rarely on and when teu do kick in its too hot! Major money saver I hope when it all works as it should. Right, I must dash. Lying on my bed trying to get te 3G connection and because of paper thin walls I can hear DH singing 'don't mess with this old man because dont ya know I'm Santa Claus!' Divvy lol
Sorry this has all been about me and not interacting. Broadband is something I really do miss
Love to everyone xxx0 -
Ohhhhhhh lovely lots of good news!
Congrats Mr VP and SmileyT on the job front.
Best of luck for the interview unix
Fingers crossed Mcculloch
Kidcat - so, so pleased for you, I know just how much easier this will make life for you.
Heartwarming to see such lovely news.
Had a great day in Brugge yesterday, already planning to take DD's next year, the ice palace we went to was simply astounding.
Managed to pick up a couple of the weekly deal sets in the chemist shop beginning with B for DDs, I've tried the past few years but they've been sold out. Just need 10 minutes alone to get them out the boot and wrap them! I swear the girls do some sort of "don't leave her alone for two seconds" tag team type thing this time of year.
!!!!!! at 9pm, the fire is roaring away (but I can't see it as the airer is in the way - but hey the washing is drying), I might have a sneaky glass of something to keep me awake!
ETA - Fuddle - glad you're settling in ok and the girls new school is to your liking. Hope you get your broadband soon!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hiya FUDDLE glad things are sorting themselves out for you in your new home. Glad Alfie Pup is getting used to the new neighbourhood too, that is some trick to get him to sit and wait for his paws to be cleaned, do you think he could explain that one to Docky? he thinks muddddd is for sharing, thank goodness I have lino and washable floors!!! The girls school having bike sheds is a bonus and should make getting them there easier for you specially as it's a long walk. Good decision about sky I think, there seems to be less and less I want to watch lately and if you are inventive and into craft like you, it's more making things time in the evenings, can only be good. Hope you can get all sorted before christmas and have a nice warm feeling when the last box in finished, take care of yourselves and be happy, Love Lyn xxx.0
