Well done Fuddle!!! OH bought one today, I refused to spend £20 on a tree. He's put it up, just hope he knows where the decs are, 'cos guess what he has to do next??? Oh and again on the 6th Jan :rotfl:
He's also spent the afternoon writing cards...wonders will never cease, I should try this "I'm doing nothing" lark more often! :D

Kidcat - Glad you got the result you wanted, you worked so hard for it.

Unix - my fingers are crossed for your interview.

Mcculloch and Smiley - don't forget us little people when you're schmoozing with the toffs.

Fuddle - Glad you're settling in, but try and take it a bit easier!

Katieowl - congrats to your DD

I'm glad too there's a bit of good news. It's because new year's coming and next year's got to be better for most of us.

I'm dealing with the after effects of my hormonal migraine right now, I don't get it every month, but get it some months the evening of the first day of my period so I just go to bed and sleep it off. Then the day after I'm fuzzy, but ok.

We still have a large bushfire 2 mins from here they don't seem to be able to get under control, so we're shut in from the smoke. The real downside is I haven't been able to do laundry, so we're running out of clothes!

What a joyous thread this is tonight. Some happy people around, well done everyone.

Can't actually stop long as I'm on a roll. I've discovered that if I want to get things done it has to be at this time of night when there are no interruptions.

Take it easy Fuddle, glad Alfie is settling down. They say that cats hate to change locations but dogs are OK as long as their people are there. I found quite the opposite. When I moved my cats were ecstatic - lots of rabbits, moles etc to hunt - but the dog sat by the door for 3 days waiting for us to take her home.
    Back to work for me.

Grandma:- Twelve Grandchildren! That's amazing! Lovely news for you.:T
Fuddle:-Glad you are all settled in. A new start for a New Year, no wonder you are so happy.:)
Kezlou:-I'm so pleased you and your OH had such a good time together, sometimes it's hard to remember to be a 'couple' because life just pulls you along so quickly. It sounds like you have a decent GP who listens and when you are struggling that's so important.
Katieowl:- Goodness me! reading your post put such a grin on my face. It's wonderful that she finally has full time hours and will be more secure. I bet you were just bouncing at her news!:j
Softstuff:- Sorry about your migraine, I don't like the sound of those fires , you keep yourself safe.:grouphug:
Monnogran:- Hope the Rev is recovering ok, It's great that so many of your community have been so generous at a time when their help is sorely needed. Of course it might have a lot to do with you. A great lady, with an infectious personality, whose quiet determination to help others has inspired them, (and us here) to do what we can for other people around us. Your hard work, patience and tolerance shine out of all your posts. I know that when you finally sit down on Christmas night to put your feet up, it will be after a very busy few days, and your rest will be very well deserved. Thankyou :A

Thanks Meme, but don't be concerned about me. Bush fires are a fact of life in Queensland and we're in a town, so the only thing for us to face is smoke.

Just to give you an idea of how much bushfire is going on right now, here's a map of incidents for anyone curious:
    http://www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au/map.html

If that doesn't appeal, then there's always golf ball sized hail or 95% relative humidity.... but then, this is paradise ;).

I'm making a new invention, a baileys mud cake at the moment, if it turns out you'll get the recipe. Unfortunately the knob has broken on my oven, so I'm having to guesstimate the temperature :rotfl:

Gosh meme, I don't recognise myself in that glowing tribute. I don't do it all alone you know, there are wonderful people out there who support us so much, and when people who are struggling themselves offer what little they have to help us I find it humbling.
Anrway, I'm off tonight to a jolly on the beach. One of the cafe/bar owners is putting on live music and eats and Open Arms is to share the proceeds with a homeless shelter on the island. Hope it doesn't rain, although I believe they have a marquee.

Last parcel and cards to post today. Hallelujah!

    Onwards and upwards.
