Unix - if you really cannot cover your bills next month it would be better to get some debt advice now, realistically these things can take time to get into appointments etc so if you start the process now you can at least be on a waiting list.
Odds are you will need to enter some sort of debt management plan even if its only temporary until you find work.
Sorry to sound harsh but I know how hard it is to get seen by anybody quickly and have experience of how quickly creditors turn nasty.0 -
Unix, if you do go for debt help try CCCS which is no 'Step change charity. They are kind, helpful and wonderful people who do not judge just help - I would have lost my mind long ago without their help. they even have a note of OH's condition so I dont have to mention it.
DGS came round to help put the Christmas tree up - then I tidied it up when him and mummy had gone home. They appeared like a pair of drowned rats after a short walk here from a birthday party, apparently the pathway under the main road was flooded. Of course mummy had a change of clothes with her so he was soon warm. The tree was well worth £10 simple green and easy to put up. Thank goodness I didnt opt for argos one, although cheaper apparently it was chaos in Stockport, people are going mad out there - silly bu**ers
My SIL seems to think she needs 2 turkey crowns from M&S - better because she always throws the leftovers away  think I may make her a do it yourself lobotomy kit as a gift :rotfl: We are having sutffed turkey thigh - 4.00 for the full leg, then the drumstick will make curry for boxing day. I usually have a ham but the leg was such a bargain I couldnt resist it.Clearing the junk to travel light

Unix:- Worrying about money puts a huge strain on relationships. Ginnyknit is right CCCS are very easy to talk to and calmly will help you sort things out untill you are on your feet again. Hopefully it won't be too long until you get another job.
Kidcat:- I am so chuffed for you. All your hard work is coming into fruition, I'm so pleased you had such a good time.
MrsVegPlot:- Lovely news.
We got the strangely good news that the leukaemia is the most common one and not the rare one that they first thought.:)
Four weeks chemotherapy followed by four weeks radiotherapy. All being well they think blood transfusions will work instead of needing a Bone Marrow Transplant.
She has her first chemo today and although it's terrifying it feels like the fight back has started.:)
Thanks again for all your good wishes for her.:AGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Good news sometimes comes in strange packages meme, so pleased things look brighter for her now.0

Commiserations to all going through the doldrums at the moment. It's doubly bad when the rest of the world seems to be celebrating and having fun. Thank goodness for all you wise and helpful people on here, what would we do without you all.
My troubles are trivial and could be resolved by moving Christmas to about January 15th, I might just about be ready by then.
I am overwhelmed by peoples kindness and generosity. We have had pensioners handing over their heating allowance to Open Arms because, " They need it more than me." One couple spent their allowance on food - trays of tinned vegetables, fruit, beans etc. cheese, flour, sugar, butter - everything you can think of which has filled our stockroom. It's just as well really because more and more people are turning up and some of the stories are so sad. One chap came in complete despair, his benefit had been stopped abruptly, no warning, no reason given. When he investigated they told him that he was being moved from whatever benefit he had been on to JSA, in spite of the fact that he is due to go into hospital and has already had his pre-op assessment. He is on his own and has top-up rent to pay apart from needing money for food and electricity etc. His new benefit is due to kick in 'sometime in January - probably!'
Loving thoughts to all who are struggling.

Morning all. Meme30 that is good news to wake up to.
I'm feeling a little tired this morning as my eldest daughter was texting me at 4am as she couldnt sleep. I told her to try having a warm drink of juice, and to not think of anything except maybe clouds, rainbows or waves crashing on a beach. It must have worked as she stopped texting! Then my muttly was whining at the door at 6am so i had to let her out, wait for her and let her back in by which time the hamster was awake and staring at me!
I gave up and cooked bacon sarnies all round for breakfast after that:).
Today i am going to make christmas cards with my youngest and finish our Polar Express Lapbook. Hopefully i will also be able to write my shopping list ready for tomorow as well.0 -
MEME - Wonderful news!!! So relieved for you all and the little one, she must have a guardian angel looking after her. The treatment for childhood leukaemia has developed so much in the past few years and the recovery numbers have grown substantially as a result of this. Hopefully she will make a complete recovery and live a normal life. That would be the best christmas present ever, wouldn't it? Thinking of you all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

I wrote that when tired. I should have explained it better that I have enough to cover the bills at the start of jan and the majority at the start of feb without counting on any other money. If I inlcude money from OH and SS's dig money and any money I make from tarot I'll be able to cover feb's bills.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Meme there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel for the little one. Im so glad its a little better than first thought, will light a candle later for you.
Unix hope your plans work out.
Kidcat glad that you children are enjoying things more, it must be a huge relief for you. DGS seems to be doing well - touches wood all over the house - He is walking nicely and mixing quite well and as for talking, well he is a chatterbox, you cannot understand it all but there are definate sentences. if I sing twinkle twinkle little star he gives me a round of applause and then sort of sings it himself - soo flipping cute!
Hugs to all in need ginnyClearing the junk to travel light

This made me smile Ginny - DD sings "tinkle tinkle, ittle - you do!" and I have to sing the rest, but those 3 little words - in tune I might add - are amazing!
Poor little flower is getting very end of termish now - she was practically bog eyed with exhaustion when I picked her up from nusery yesterday - have to say I'm pretty zonked and end of termish myself, 2 1/2 days nursery added to all the other appointments and running round that I do has really taken it out of me - don't quite know where I'm going to fit in all DS's new appointments let alone when DD goes up to 5 days - something is going to give! DH looking at reducing his hours once we get DLA sorted for DS in the new year which would be a big help TBH.
Oh well lets eat drink and be merry for the festivities ad let RL sort itself out later - good old ostrich approach!!!
Hugs to all who need or want one! X0
