Thanks Possession. I'm just worried re the money aspect i.e paying my cc's. I have some ideas for generating a little cash and I have enough to pay the bills at the end of this month and have a tiny bit left for january. But decided once I am back in work (and hopefully it won't be too long) I am going to put some money away in case this happens again. My cupboards are ok (might make some interesting meals) and I have a full freezer although its a hotch potch of stuff.
I did come across unopened christmas cake from last year . Worth risking?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I meant to say I got handed a freebie in the station this morning. Sad to say its something I do need and will save me about £7. Its Nikwax wash in re-waterproofer for jackets! i haven't a clue why they were handing them out (they were only handing them out to those like me that were wearing outdoors-y type waterproof jackets). So it got put in my [STRIKE]tardis[/STRIKE] handbag for use later.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Oh that Nikwax stuff is magic, I never use it in the machine though, I wash stuff to get it clean then mix the Nikwax as for the hand washing instructions and put ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I want to re-proof into the water mix, as if rinsing and then wring out. If its a big item I give it a spin in the machine to hurry along the dying process. This means I get many more items reproofed (socks if you have dodgy boots for instance, gloves, hats, scarfs, fleeces, fleecy tops you name it I have probably reproofed it using this stuff) out of one batch. To the point where the last time I literally wiped the bowl round with the socks I was doing to get the last scraps up!Start info Dec11

:j:j:j:j Mr VP has been offered a job :j:j:j He goes in for orientation tomorrow and starts in the new year.
7WW I love the nativity especially with knowing the story behind it. The penguins are great.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Oh Mrs VP - that is brilliant news, am so pleased for you0

Kezlou :mad::mad: on your behalf - it so annoys me, have had the same thing happen with OH. I usually make a caustic comment as they walk away.
Unix got my fingers crossed for you, as kidcat says concentrate on you and yours until you get over the shock.
7Ww what a beautiful nativity, and so special to you. Love the flock of penguins, makes it all the more special.
Mrs VP excellent news and god knows we need some.
To all who are struggling remember we are here for you - as so many have been for me.
I finally got my little steam cleaner from Lidl, had a look online to see if I could get one elsewhere in case they sold out and they were originally more than twice the price at the makers :j Also got a tree from Mr A for £10 and have been told DGS will be coming to dress it tonight as he loved doing theirs. OH has wandered off to a craft shop - Im not supposed to know where he is - where he can park outside and wobble in to buy me somethingJust waiting impatiently for him to get home safe.
Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Mrs Veg Plot that is wonderful news!
I am trying to defrost my fridge freezer :eek: So far i have scraped three full ice cream tubs of frost out and am now waiting for the bottles of hot water to melt the ice stuck to the roof of the freezer. Why on earth do i let it build up so much?0 -
Afternoon Toughies lovely sunny day down here and not too cold either, far cry from yesterday which was very wet.
UNIXGIRL - so sorry to hear your sad news, rotten timing on the part of the employers . Chin up though girlie, you'll find something else in the not too distant future I'm sure.
MRS VP - Clever Mr V P that is wonderful news for you, hope the orientation day goes well and that he enjoys it.
POOKY - Hope you are having a lovely time in Bruges at the christmas markets, have some mulled wine for us while you're there.
MEME - So sad to hear the news on the little girl with lukemia, I think the successful cure rate is pretty high in small ones these days and hopefully she will be on the mend pretty quickly, sending hugs to all of you and saying a small prayer too.
Hope everyones preparations and shopping are well under way if not finished and that all the poorlies pick up soon, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Thanks for all the messages. I'm still having teary moments and just been on the phone to my agency to tell them there's a job going in another department but unless they put me forward for it I can't go for it due to conditions of my contract.
Sat with a big mug of green tea and I find it more soothing than chamomile. Oh and (bad Unix) have munched 2 small scones and butter and a little bit of fudge sent through by a friend (which arrived today).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. But haven't you heard? Scones and fudge when eaten under conditions of extreme stress have absolutely no calories:rotfl:
And my fingers are still crossed that you get some good news soon.
Mrs VP - huge congrats to Mr VP, what a brilliant Christmas present for you both.0
