Has anyone seen Byatt about ? I swear I havent seen her post for a few days - unless I have missed her, just a little worried as she was in a flood area I seem to think.

Im sure mrs VP will be happy to help she is nice like that.

We have a few people MIA so sending hugs and hope you are all lurking and are doing ok.

Had a busy day and got lots done whilst OH was dozing on the couch - seems to be the rise in meds he had 2 weeks ago. Im glad its Christmas because I have the motivation to do stuff while he sleeps. He woke up at 3.30 pm and decided he needed new slippers, so I went to the post office first  it was school home time and the palce was full of screaming kids and Mums on mobile. I swear I came out 10 years older. Wont make that mistake again!

Frozen solid here again, but no snow thankfully.
Yesterday I popped out to the shops after making the Pease Pudding mountain and did not realise that while I was whisking it I had spattered splashes of Pease Pudding down my top and all over my hair! The phrase 'What a clip' comes to mind! :(
Still, I have never managed to graze my bum on a tap  Softstuff, you win first prize for that one! :rotfl:

Kezlou:- Well done on talking to your sister, :) it's an odd thing, as much as we try to bottle things up, it's such a relief to let it go. I think it's that we don't feel so alone and that the reaction is not as negative as we feared. Sorry that your legs are not so good though. :(

Stiltwalker:- I hope your little ones are feeling better today, it's an awful bug.

Popperwell:- Good news about the vouchers!:)

Kidcat:- It sounds like you had a mind numbing day. How on earth do you keep track of it all?

Does anyone know how to make a wheat bag? Could i also use barley instead of wheat for filling?

I think pearl barley would work fine but I wouldn't use barley from the field/pet shop/farm food supplier as the grain would always have tiny bits of the "whiskers" that it grows with mixed in with it and they'd act like itching powder!

    Morning Meme and all,
Pease Pudding...now what am I like? I have lots of YS ham to use up and pork so I suspect no meals for a few days but buns...why did I forget to buy some PP...

Wonderful news on the vouchers...thanks to those here who mentioned all might not be lost. I still have £40 of M&S vouchers that must have been given to Mum as a present so that will save some money early next year if used for food between the two. The M&S vouchers are not dated.

Kezlou, I hope you see some improvement with mobility, it is horrible when you want to go one way...and can't. Anti depressents, of course we do not want to take them but am happy that for many the stigma has gone and if they work and it has to be over a long time so be it.

At least now they understand just as with the condition SAD there does not have to be a reason, it can come down to something as simple a chemical that is missing. It is a pity that so many try to come off them and too quickly and sometimes that causes problems in itself.

Though it is possible to have depression when everything is good. Two weeks ago John Loyd a successful TV producer said on Desert Island Discs that he had it all, a good marriage, children, cars, more than one home etc...and then found himself seeing no point in what he was doing and would find himself crying and unable to function. It can hit anyone and there are so many reasons.

I don't have to go out and as it is cold and freezing, I won't. But I do have plenty of work to catch up on. I had to paint a strip of woodchip and repair a couple of small cracks with plaster that is done. I have tidied the bedrooms, toilet, bathroom. The lounge, dining room and hall are ok. I have to get rid of rubbish on the landing and in the outhouse.

That will be a job and a half. But I hope I can finish that today but that will take hours and could last tomorrow too. Then at least the rooms are quite empty. And then perhaps a quick dust and only an occasional hoover will be needed.
