Its very interesting to hear about the Makaton classes Stiltwalker. DGS has taught himself some and I looked into doing them but Im rubbish at sign language. OH however already knows BSL and learns things like that very easily. If I can find somewhere nearer here he might go and do classes next year - health allowing.
Quiet day at castle Ginny, picked Dgs up from group with his mummy and ran them home for nap time. OH slept all this afternoon and yesterday too so Im busy crafting which is no trouble for meSeem to be very cold at the moment so taking vitamins quick so I dont come down with anything.

Stiltwalker well done in passing your course!! My youngest DD is currently learning basic sign language, at her collage they could learn a new skill. There was a long list of subjects but she has chosen to learn basic sign language. She thought that if she ever gets to do her dream job (working as a rep abroad or on a cruise liner) then she would haave an advantage over other condidates. Its also teaching her how to appreciate how lucky she is.
The only downside is bank of mum has to pay the fee for the exam at £64 each and there are up to 6 to complete, its gonna be an expensive one.
Have had a lazy day, and im doing a very lazy tea. Chips with chicken!!! Well it is my day off lolBSC member 137

Hi everyone,
I'm back from my first effots with the Andrew James Twins - dehydator and halogen oven!! Very impressed with HA, started off with Cheese on toast(yum so simple, so good), frozen chips ( fab) and worked my way up to Roast chicken and roast potatoes!! Go me!!
I want to experiment with the electricity readings this weekend and see what the difference is between ovens.
I have dried mushrooms and dried sweet potatoe but they are a bit wangy - do they need another few hours? Also a question to the dehydrator goddesses out there does it matter if I have to turn off the dehydrator for a few hours ? Does the food remoisturise ? Any assistance appreciated. I found a website today dehydrate2store.com so will be checking this as well
I haven't caught up on threads but Sunshine very sorry to hear your news - take care of yourself.
Cheers,

Kezlou thanks for the PM about the wheat bags (have responded to you). Posession was spot on with the other fillings you can use. If you need need more info than I have already sent you please let me know.
Left over chicken tonight in a chicken and pumpkin curry. I think it works out at about £5 (including the rice) there is enough for 6/7 portions.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

My OU grade has been released early - wasn't expecting it til the 14th but it's here and I got a grade 2 pass!! Really pleased with that specially considering I looked completely blankly at the exam paper when I first turned it over and I didn't really like any of the questions. Now officially half way through my degree with 2 grade 2 passes and 1 distinction.0

Congratulations Stiltwalker, from a former OU tutor who was /is absolutely blown away by the commitment and talent of many of the students.
I studied as a mature student, but was lucky enough back then to be able to study full time (once child no. 3 had gone to school of course...)
Times are different now. Fees, finances, families, jobs, illness, special needs, bereavements, divorces, etc.... I was, and remain, totally in awe of them
I was priviledged to be involved, and wish I still was x
Well done  :A0
