  • I can`t rest with this weather, we have some dreadful stuff coming tomorrow and are on amber here, very strong winds and then tremendous rain again. Many many homes and roads are badly flooded. We are in an R5 period, that is the highest due to solar activity, it is like it shakes the whole earth. December has two periods of R5, when things get a bit dodgy but it still appears to be better than 2010 wrt temperatures and snow

I am so so glad that dh and I cancelled our trip up to NW on thursday

wd re the jacket fuddle, you are a try-er and a half :)

Went in lean to today to fetch flour and saw that something has eaten half a stored apple  It`s got to be a rat so dh has moved a rat trap tunnel thing into there. I don`t want anything to get at my flours

I confess to chomping through chocolate stored for christmas and beyond, it is because I am bored tbh. Good job I didn`t store any crisps or they would be on my hips by now

Byatt you watched the same news as me, stupid insensitive car drivers. Do you listen to Emma Britain? She was ages giving breakdowns on flooded areas today

Fuddle - glad the coat worked

I stood up from a low kitchen cupboard earlier and whacked my head on a higher cupboard door, it hurt, but weirdly I have no lump yet my neck and shoulders are agony!! I have no idea how I manage these things!

I went rooting in the freezer earlier for stuff for tomorrow and decided to have a clear out so I emptied all the drawers and generally tidied up and reorganised, I now have a beautifully organised freezer - which wont fit everything back in!
So tomorrow I am going to have to cook up some stuff, planning on a fish pie for tomorrow night, and a chicken casserole into SC for the next day. Oops these things always seem a good idea at the time :)

Poor Kidcat, I hope it stops hurting soon.

I'm really not in a good way today. I started off hobbling about but had to give up and take to the sofa. I've done sweet fanny adams all day, but I wish I'd been able to appreciate it more :(

I'm going to send someone to buy me a thigh support tomorrow, as the internet would seem to suggest I have a ham string injury, which will be aided in healing with compression. I just had a bit of a snivel sat on the stairs, as OH and DS are being less than a comfort.

SHEILA - Hope you are feeling better now, and that you are snug and warm with your lovely fire alight and the door securely closed against the world and all its vexations, enjoy a peaceful evening, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hope Rosie dog is curled up on the sofa with you, L xxx.

Thanks for thinking of me Lyn , yep im sitting by my open fire flame watching.:D Its the best place on a night like this, we have no rain , but we do have a bit of wind here...........

Little Rosie as gone on "her dads bed", she hates the fire snapping and banging, although her hearing is real bad, as soon as the fire snaps she can hear it..!!!...And shes gone.......

My son is going to take some pics of the dogs and the fire so that I can upload them on here, do anyone know where we have to upload the pics so we can get them on here ? please..........All keep safe tonight ...Sheila....

Sheila - try photobucket or flickr, I use both and find photobucket easier but its about personal preference. Sitting by the fire in this weather sounds just the job :)

katieowl - ((hugs)) wish you were nearer I could pop around and give them a kick for you.

two of the cats had a massive fight today, I ended up throwing a bowl of water over them to split up - twice as they went back for more, OH is less than impressed with the amount of hair shed along the hall but no way I can consider hoovering and forgot to get DS14 to do it earlier - he will do it tomorrow though!

DS8 is still not well, had screaming and crying bout again earlier when he dosed off and am considering that we will need to visit the gP tomorrow, am concerned if its his throat it may need AB.

Poor DS8. Hope you can get some sleep tonight kidcat.

I'd love to see some pics of Rosie too.

DH has an old Hi vis jacket at work so I'm going to wash it and make 2 x body sashes if I can. I'm hoping to use a bit to tie round Alfie too. Fingers crossed.

Is it normal for a room window to be dripping wet with water when it isn't used and not heated? It's the problem room. The condensation just never goes away in there even when in use and heated. 24 days and counting.

Oh, reminds me. LL called. He wants to come for a pre leaving visit at the end of the month and then another one when we leave, of course. I've said to DH I want non of it. I don't care to deal with the man. I'll be on a dog walk when he comes ;)

I tell you what though, i'll miss the old couple next door. I can hear their music now, sounds like choir singing. Really nice actually :)
  • katieowl you are probably feeling it all the more because you are so used to coping with everything and just getting on with it. It is very difficult having to rely on other people. You will need regular painkillers and plenty of rest. Just do a little and often to keep things moving.

After the physio on Monday I spent Tuesday in a lot of pain. The painkillers did not seem to touch it. I could not sitat my desk and ended up pathering around the office trying to relieve the pain holding a wheat bag on my back. I had to ask a colleague to collect a trolley full of notes that I had ordered. I really dislike having to ask for help. Physio says it will take about 12 weeks for me to recover so only 7 more to go.

Mr VP has had no luck on the job front but keeps on applying. On the plus side the housework is getting done and I am not having to do it after a full days work.

Have lit a candle tonight and sending positive thoughts to all as a lot of us seem to be going through the mill at the moment.

    Mrs VP
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Thats fairly standard fuddle - same thing happened with us, it allows them to assess if there is going to be an issue then when you do go they can check closely to make sure all is good. In our case it was things like the ripped carpet and the kitchen cupboard I had moved that they took pics on visit one, so when we signed out he was really checking they were ok.
Obviously he highlighted the carpet and I reminded him it was ripped when we arrived, the cupboard was ll fixed in better than before so no argument there.

Wouldnt let it worry you, at this point you are leaving its doesnt really matter you can argue deposit later if it comes to that :)
