Has anyone tried those chair massager things? My back is really sore (bad office chairs, we don't get our own as its hot desks and train seats) and OH is useless at massage, he won't even use the handheld massage bug I got as he says he gets 'bored'..

I got my older son waterproof trousers on ebay just this week they were a total of £5.50 including the postage and they have them in ages 2-16 and in either black or navy.

They are a good well known brand as well.

If lidl don't come up trumps I know where I'm going ;)
fuddle don't forget to use umberellas

I used one down to work because my 'waterproof' was drying. It helped. I won't use one tomorrow though because of wind. Umbrellas and I don't get on but today I was pleased I had it because it is flat calm.

Moan. It has stopped raining here but I am soaked through as the cars decided to just drive on through the water that had congregated at the bottom of the hill. I'm a driver too (when I have a car!) and would never do to someone walking what a number of people have done to me today. Whoooosh, straight through at 60mph. Some drivers need a little more foresight  It's unsafe for a start! Aquaplaning

Need to keep my eye open for high vis vests or body bands for the girls. Lyn we do have to walk along a 60mph road still but it's been well thought out with bike lanes etc. We're a way from the main road with a decent grass verge in between. It's long and arduous but not beyond us ;) Taking little DD's scooter to school this afternoon to see how she does. Lyn how are you feeling today?

Right, bathtime for me as I've hurt my back lifting the tables away. I felt it go but was fine. I then leant over to cut a little boy's lunch up and when I tried to stand up I felt it pull and go a weird numb but hurt feeling. Getiing on I guess

Unix - try a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel when you're sitting down at home (assuming you get the chance!) Its really comforting & eases out sore stiff muscles. I've even taken mine to work on occasions!!

Thank you I will try that. I wouldn't get away with taking it to work. We've no kettle or microwave in any of the offices. :(

    Latest for UK weather..
heavy rain already across much of the UK today, with reports of flooding in Western areas. The situation is likely to get worse still. Not only does our attention turn to gale force winds tomorrow, but with it further heavy rainfall in the areas that could do without it - in particular Wales and the Westcountry. 50-60mm of rain likely in parts today, and the risk of a further 50mm tomorrow - to put this into perspective, the average rainfall for the whole of November is around 95mm.

The following chart shows the total rainfall amounts likely during the next 48 hours, and highlights the areas of highest concern with regards to flooding. The darker the colours, the higher the rainfall totals. The numbers shown are exact forecast rainfall totals.

Gale force winds nationwide tomorrow, highest gusts initially across SW England and NW Scotland during the morning. Continuing across SW England into the afternoon, and also into a swathe of NE England from the humber northwards.

 Oh my goodness, isn't that in breach of some kind of welfare regulations?!

Even when I was in the woods with the Mad Bushcrafters they had a cauldron of tea water on the fire at all times, and all the fixings for tea, coffee, cocoa and even biccies in Lock 'n Locks in a sturdy lidded plastic box.

    No tea..........that's just wrong.

:p I now have no bathroom. Or at least a bathroom I have to stay out of until 7 pm when the screeding on the floor will be dry. You've heard the definition of being too poor to have a pot to p in.........?:rotfl:I have the keys to SuperGran's an an invite to let myself in if she's not home to use the facilities.

Quite amazing how WC-absence makes you a bit obsessive; it's been precisely 10 mins now and I'm getting twitchy......... I shall go out shortly for some [STRIKE]chocolate[/STRIKE] ooops, meant to say essentials, and my new library book is ready to collect, yippee.

Well, no chance of the rain stopping so might as well get booted and GoreTexed and hit the streets. Laters, GQ xx

Thank you unixgirl. They would be perfect actually, because the girls wouldn't have to faff about when they got to school. Anyone seen high vis for dogs?

Also do your dogs have coats? DH won't let me get Alfie a coat, saying he'd look stupid and that he's designed to withstand the wet and cold. I know he has a lot of under fur as it's forever coming out when I brush him but is it enough?

My waterproof has been sprayed with tent proofer. It actually mentioned goretex on the back so I think it'll be fine on mine. It's Nike ACG and was bought to do the job two years ago but I guess It's in need of reproofing? Do you have to keep topping the waterproofing up?

I've sourced the Nikwax Lyn. I'll do the girls' in that when I wash them. Thank you. When I move I won't be too far from GoOutdoors so that will be really handy
