Yes you can apply for a Blue Badge but if not receipt of benefits you may have to attend an assessment with an Occupational Therapist. Blue Badge is issued though the county council so contact them for an application form. Have you thought of applying for DLA? The range of financial help is staged so you might well be surprised that you find yourself eligible? I use mine for help with transport.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Byatt:- Pleased you are ok and not going out today, forecast looks really carp for you today. Best have a baking and a sit in front of the fire day.
Monnagran:- Bu88er the car parking! You will have enough on your plate without having to stress about that. Having seen your December itinerary, and having envisioned you and the Rev as a pair of blue a**ed flies,:rotfl: I think a few days of downtime will do you the world of good. I'm sure there will be someone who can pick you up to attend any of the numerous events you have to attend, until then try to relax, and rely on your store cupboard.
MrsVP:-:grouphug:
PIC:- Rant away if you want to, we are hear to listen. Sometimes just writing things down clears a little space in an overcrowded brain and things seem a little clearer. Sorry, I know nothing about Blue Badges, but someone will. :grouphug:
My microwave died last night!Lots of sparks and smoke! It's currently residing outside. Unfortunately I don't think I can do without one so will have to look on-line. I like to use the microwave to heat food up so the oven is not on as long. It's 12 years since we last bought one so now I think a smaller will do. Just typical this time of year isn't it?
Stay safe, warm and dry today everyone.Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
I'm getting a bit twitchy about the forecast of snow in the near future.
x
what snow? It`s NOT going to happen. Don`t believe anything the express writes about weather ::) I hate it when they try to whip up panic
re painkillers: my dd (medic) says that paracetamol alternated with ibrufen works best as they have slightly different actions. Do NOT overdose on paracetamol.0 -
Morning all
Hugs to all those in need, hope all the poorlies are on the mend.
I've read several reports now on the potential bad weather for December, so I shall be prepared just in case. If it comes to nothing then fine but if it's as bad as it has been suggested then I want to know we're covered. Our village is quite high and whilst neighbouring towns might not have any snow at all we could have 6 inches and not be able to get to the main road.
DD2 is off to hospital tomorrow for 4 teeth out under a general anaesthetic, one from each corner, she's going to be sore bless her. But it's another step closer to getting her teeth sorted for her brace. Bottom brace goes on in two weeks. Both my girls have had such issues with teeth (they inherited my small, overcrowded pallet). They will both have beautiful teeth at the end of it though.
Finished quilting a throw for DD1 for Christmas, got the binding on and as I went to iron it for the last time I realised I'd not quite caught a bit of the backing fabric.....ideally I'd take the binding off and start again but because I'm running out of time to get everything finished I'm going to slip stitch it and hope no one looks to closely. I am going to another town today with a friend for Christmas shopping - am very excited! And in other good news, am not allowed to say how at the moment but a friend who really needs it has won £10K and I'm so pleased for her.
I am currently putting all our massive CD collection onto iPod and cloud storage, and last night I gave away about 150 of them on Freecycle - I feel nothing but a massive sense of relief they are gone really. I still have another 100-150 and I know I could get a little bit from Music Magpie but the old guy who collected them will get so much pleasure from them. (If anyone here wants the remainder PM me!)0 -
Horrible weather again today - mainly the wind. Our new double glazing plays wee tunes in high winds, its like the background music to winter in a log cabin in bloody Siberia. Vicious winds, just whip really fast out of nowhere and really fierce. And the rain is battering the windows in sheets.
Kittie the Scottish weather forums are getting really excited about Dec - so some places up here might in line for some snow, although we get snow in this village every winter because of the height.
I've going to stop reading the news, try to filter out the bad stuff because it gets me down... maybe internation headlines but nothing else. Too much bad around,
I need to try and focus on only the good for a while.
Monnagran how's the diet??0 -
Another thing is the sky is pink and the light is very strange - reddish, and its very light but the clouds are very dark. Guy on the Scottish weather forum who lives near me has commented on it and says his shepherd is worried. I think I'm worried too now :eek:0

:eek: Oh joyous day, just used my brand new WC and the thing blocked! Aarrrggghhhhh! Never ever had the one block on me in all the years I've lived here and this brand new one has to do it.
Ick. I've called the company who installed it and left them an answerphone msg. Hope they'll get the plumber back to sort it soon.
What is it with modern loos, are you only allowed to flush liquids?!
Well, I was going to have a second cuppa but better not now.........:rotfl:I thought home improvements were supposed to make life better, not worse...........:p
Otherwise, life was going OK apart from living under a permanant raincloud but counting my blessings as nothing like the rain which some parts have been having.
Right, going to excavate the cupboard of doom, the one under the sink...........I may be gone for some time.;)
