Crumbs, there's a lot of stuff going wrong. The only thing I can say is that when carrying on seems hard or even impossible just take it hour by hour and keep plodding on.

A lot of people would be surprised by what goes on behind closed doors in the houses of people who are supposedly "coping well". I think it's one of those phrases people use when they can't think of anything else to say sometimes.

Kidcat maybe you need to put a bit more emphasis on what you don't get rather than what you do, as in "How's your sleep?". Answer..."awful, only three hours at the most and that can be broken if the children wake".

Stiltwalker I'd be looking for more than a pointy stick if the people who let you down last time don't turn up to the next meeting.

I'm going to alter the curtains that I hung yesterday now, and do a bit of ironing if there's any time left before the school run. I hope things start looking up for the people with problems, I really do.

My Gran (Dad's side, she passed away when I was in my teens) once said to me that friendship, life and its problems are like climbing a hill and seeing a friend at the top, a good friend will tell you the path to take as they've been through the journey themselves. Once you're at the top you can either watch your friend make the journey down the other side and let them hear you encourage them or you walk down together and take each step in your stride, keeping each other company. .... I think what she meant was that a good friend will help you through no matter what, whether they've been there themselves or if they haven't just provide moral support.

Kidcat if possible can you contact that unit again and tell them what they need to hear, even if it isn't true ALL the time, what matters is it's true SOME of the time and it will allow you to access the help you need. Don't let them make you feel guilty, you are already dealing with so much more than most people. Phone them and cry at them, don't save the tears for after. (((hugs)))

Meme you're very wise pet, and you see life as I do - but I haven't had the level of illness and loss that you have. Now that I'm older I tend to be more impartial which makes it easier. I know there's another place and life after this one and I look on this life as the ante-natal ward LOL - and we're all sat in beds with our bumps, waiting our turn to go upstairs to a nicer ward :D

I am going to do something unthinkable to me, I am going to go into the office and cry all over the place and tell them exactly how it is and how I feel, then I am going to make an official complaint about their attitude and advice.
  • Kidcat- I hope they listen to you and you get the help that you need and so deserve. Will be thinking of you.
