    Morning everyone,

Thanks for the kind words about my anxiety. The mind is a funny old thing isn't it? For all the advances in science and medicine, there isn't a magic pill to wash away such things so we struggle on as best we can.

GQ, I'm always overwhelmed by the amount you seem to do, working, prepping, allotmenting, sorting out bikes, so I'm sure you've earned a lie down with a trashy novel (as long as it's not about TEOTWAWKI :rotfl:)

Kez, so sorry about your news.

Everyone dealing with grumpy OH or children, hugs all round.

Dd16 is in her last GCSE this very minute so ten thirty today will mark the end of her school life and she is sooooo happy:j She wants to go to McDonalds to celebrate. Not a big ask but even a trip like that to the drive thru is hard for me at the moment so I will have to put on my can do attitude in a minute.

Hope everyone will have the best day they can.

Morning FPK, yes, I freeze cooked rhubarb that I've done in the slow cooker in the juice it cooks in, I have some square plastic boxes deep enough to take just the right amount of fruit to serve both of us for breakfast/pudding. I line them with a freezer bag and freeze in the boxes and then I have rhubarb bricks which stack nicely in the freezer. It's a little softer when it defrosts, but lovely for a crumble or a rhubarb fool or with rice pudding, it's one of my winter staples along with the apple puree I make and freeze from the drop apples from our tree.

PX87 good luck with the inspection check, you'll be fine, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hi ALFSMUM, just sending you some hugs, because I can and it sounds like you could do with a few, help yourself, as many as you want, no limit and smile again, Lyn xxx.

    hi everyone,

I honestly has tears in my eyes earlier, i couldn't cry as i had both boys with me. If ds2 had seen he crying he wouldn't have left me alone.

Went to my see my great auntie yesterday and she looked awful, by the look of her she won't last the weekend. She looked so much like her sister (my adoptive mum / nana), i nearly burst out crying, but i held back and sat down holding her hand and chatted with her.

She was still lucid but the morphine had really taken it out of her.
She was still her usual straight forward self. She had us in stitches.
The stuff she was coming out i told OH and he laughing his head off, he aid she hasn't changed a bit.

My aunite tried to put lipsyl on her, well that was it. My great said "Your not putting that on me, will ya just f**k off. I'm not a doll ya know!"

She knew my sister wanted a fag but she wouldn't let her go. Instead she tortured saying "i'm DYING for a fag, are you dying for a fag". My sister was fuming, we just laughed our heads off at her. She had us in stitches calling my bio mum a twister and saying "Oi you twister, you better not be hiding any card under the table!"

So yeah it was good, heartbreaking though. I'm going to try and go over and see her later while the kids are at school.

I thought i would come on before i have my meeting at 10am. I'm supposed to be going out tonight to a charity night, but don't want to go. OH told me i had to and it would do me good.

Well best be off i'm running seriously late.
  • KEZ when you've stopped hurting over this, your memories will make you smile and remember her as the funny feisty lady she was, she has given you such a rich gift, chin up pet, laugh for her, it sounds as though that's what she wants you to do. Good luck with the meeting, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Oh Kezlou she sounds lovely. She doesn't sound scared either, she sounds like she has accepted it's her time to go. I hope they can make it as painless as possible for her. (((hugs)))

Alfsmum good luck to your DD, and bless you for girding your loins and taking her where she wants even though it will be hard for you. Fighting it is a good step towards curing it. but I know it's so hard.

Not an easy time for you Kez . It's hard seeing those we love in these situations. I'm sure she appreciates you and she sounds like a great lady - full of independance and not liking a fuss . I'm sure she's being well looked after and just being there for her will comfort her .

Git woken with Dane barking - I've sooo much to do today ! 2 dogs to groom , finish straightening the house, go to pick up a dog crate then off to caravan for the rest of the week for a short break - took it to Kelso Monday . Came home to find I'd had a breakin when I came back as had course for work yesterday . Still working out what has gone . Got a championship dog show ( my dogs are in the ring on Sunday ) but may find time to go and watch IF I get there in time lol . On that note must get on .... Hugs to those that need them ......

Well what a turn of events this morning has been...Is it nearly bed time yet? :rotfl:

After posting my last message, I witnessed a dogger being hit by a car. To say i'm shaken is a understatement. Both my dogs are too. The driver just drove off, Then come back pretending he didn't know if he had indeed hit anything :mad::mad:

I had my visit, As usual everything is fine, TBH, i cant wait until we can move and stop having someone coming to check every inch of the place we live in. Its not nice having someone coming into our home every quarter nit picking.

Kez, Your family member sounds lovely and i'm sure in time you will be able to look back and laugh at her our burst's! x

  • Oh heck PX87 how horrible, was the one who was hit OK? The driver of the car must have noticed, even something small is noticable from the noise alone, are you and the doglets OK as well, it really unsettles you when something like that happens doesn't it? A nice cuppa wouldn't do you any harm pet. Glad your visit was OK and one day, you'll be able to close the door on your own home and only let in people you want to, that's where you're aimed at, yes? Look after yourselves, Cheers Lyn xxx.

    Cheers Lyn x

I have phoned my vets as its the local emergency one which the dog has been taken too, They couldn't tell me any further information other than the dog is having emergency treatment with the vet and is on oxygen. :(

I think this was a simple case of human error on both parts because the dogs owner had the dog off the lead, The driver would have heard & felt it as it maybe a almighty noise.
My dogs are struggling to settle at the moment, They keep crying at the door and one of them who is my shadow has been sick ever since.

(Think the stress i'm showing has created the above)
Thats the plan Lyn, Everyday is one day closer to us having our own home. Renting private can be a nightmare! xx

I tell you Kez, what a gorgoeus lady. I agree, she sounds as if shes accepted what is happening but not only that, she wants to make the pain and burdon on you less because of her making you laugh. Give me a shout if you want to cancel Monday, it's absolutely not a problem. x

I hope the little dog is ok! You must be so shook up. Take it easy and please update us on the dog if you can?

Ok, well I have been to my doctors appointment this morning and I'm afraid to tell you I'm back on the anti-depressants. My head and chest are filled to bursting with some sort of angst but I don't know whether I want to get angry or cry. I face everything head on, have sought to fix or get help with every problem that comes my way and what happens? I get bogged down with something I can't fix or control. Only mam can do that and she won't.

I was doing so well being off the anti-depressants and so proud of myself for coping and managing with my lot. No amount of baking or crocheting is going to fix how I feel right now, I feel lost and angry.

I will not be a victim, I will not be a by product of someone elses misery but at the moment I can't see how I'm going to get out of it. I'm stuck in these four wallas with JCB's revving and clashing, reversing beeping, I look out my window and see builders and scaffolding, I look out the back and see bricks and cars - I need a release but fear if I walk out this house with the dog I will just sob.

Even the strongest people are allowed to break down yeah?
