Morning all - I read about your thunderstorm on the storm chasers facebook page, Mrs LW. it is expected there will be localised heavy downpours and the storm is moving northwest from you - so the marches (do I mean the marches? hereford, worcester etc) and wales and the NW may be getting some too. I am so grateful to 2 Tonsils for the heads up on that FB page as they are spot on so far. Mind their predictions for the summer are a bit concerning and next winter more so. Summer is lower than average temperatures and average rainfall and next winter is shaping up to be '62 - '63 all over again  I am going to have to emigrate.

Oh and if you are thinking of going to central or eastern Europe in the summer - DON'T:eek::eek::eek:

I am spitting about something I bought yesterday and wonder if you clever people have any idea what I can do with them? I went to a lovely farm shop and cafe after dropping DD and her friends at Alton Towers yesterday (end of exam treat courtesy of Mr T vouchers). Had a lovely coffee and spent more than I should in the farm shop - including some cards. All are very nice and quite reasonably priced for something a bit different. Included in this was a pack of 8 cards - all the same with a little cupcake design on them. 8 cards for £4.95 - I thought that was quite reasonable and could dish them out around friends and family and DD's friends. Today I have opened them to discover that they aren't a card you can open up but are just a card front  - the back is printed like the back of a card. So they aren't any use as birthday cards, i can't really use them as post cards, I can't take them back (the petrol alone won't be far short of £4.95) - so any ideas?

Hokay - I'll leave that with you and I'm off to Ald! to do the shopping. I inventoried the freezers yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that I could identify almost everything, could clean one freezer that hasn't seen a cloth in a while, drew up a decent meal plan for the first time in ages and formulate a sensible shopping list rather than buying "just in case" - suffice to say I won't need any frozen sweetcorn for a while :o:rotfl: it took less than an hour to do all that so i really must do it more.

Have a good one all - enjoy the sunshine, it's disappearing again next week.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning all.

Slightly breezy here this morning although apparently its meant to be warming up as the day progresses. At the moment I’m sat here reading mse thread snapping up all advice given and checking all our paperwork.

OH should get paid today. Once he does, Every penny goes straight out to pay our rent. I suppose this is the downside to renting privately. Had a lovely phone call from my MIL (2b) earlier, Its so refreshing to speak to people who doesn’t judge and in fact offers support, information & advice.

OH & I had a conversation about where we want to be after crushing our debts. After reading some of these posts I see that one way of keep your marbles is to have a long term focus or goal. Ours is getting a mortgage.

It’s a long way off, but its lovely looking forward towards something rather than living with our heads in the sand.

I done a step change yesterday but half way through my laptop crashed..
    Today’s goals are doing:-

    Doing the housework
    Do 3 loads of washing
Get paperwork organised for the bank tomorrow (Should be fun!!)
Take doggers for a hike, Could do with the rays and fresh air too!
Read the rest of this thread
Pay rent when OH is paid
    BE POOR FOR ANOTHER WEEK!!

Have a good day all, Stay safe!!
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    .

I would cut a tag shaped piece of card, maybe colour in the edges of it just for a faff, and then sit it behind the picture card and hole punch the two at the top centre. String both with yarn or ribbon, and write your message on the card???? Have done this before with vintage used postcards to make greetings cards - its really effective and looks "arty"

    Mrs Lw,
Thanks, I think she hopes to be here but has some repairs that need doing and its probably going to clash, I'm tired and would happily go to sleep right this minute.

In fact I am resting at this minute ready to doze off...

This is THE site for remedies http://www.myhomeremedies.com/topic.cgi?topicid=93 but I found that L*ster*ne original works if you put it on in evening wrap head in clingfilm then open top of clingfilm in the morning after sleeping with product on head, re-apply more product, wrap towel round and keep on until later so that after 24 hours you remove wrap and shampoo and rinse with vinegar. At all applications keep eyes well covered. Product must be original as it contains alcohol.
