OH's day off here so will get nothing done today..
Need a rest anyhow and have MrT delivering in a mo,Lynx are on here buy 2 get 2 free for anyone with men in the hoose :D

Got a few other things half price which are usually on my list anyway but noticed the revamped jars of their own yeast extract has indeed risen by 20p accordingly  I knew that was coming when they changed the jar but it still makes you cross!

Have a great day all XX
  • Morning Toughies, MAR that is the best possible news we are going to get today, how brilliant to be able to live again, and not just exist eh? That pales any problems into insignificance and makes me grateful that I am able to do what I can in health, it is enough!!!! anything else is icing and I can see it as such. So happy for you, enjoy!!! Love Lyn xxx.

    morning all!

I am also a believer in herbal medicines and alternative therapy.
I have been feeding the boys one vitamin capsule on alternate days its a combination of vitamins a,d and c. In the time they have been having these they seem to concentrating more, ds2's hypermobility has improved as apparently the mixture of the three helps the body repair wear and tear.
I've also been taking an adult version of vitamin b and its really helped me lot.

I had everyone trying to tell me to give the boys all this carp when they had measles. They thought i was evil for making them drink water and home made soup, i've done this since they were babes. Lo and behold both are fit and healthy and ds1's immune system is so strong he hardly ever gets ill. Less than 48 hours with chicken pox. The measles he fought it for 10 days before the rash came through, with 48 hours of the rash its starting to fade and he's eating again.
The GP reckons its because his immune system is so strong that illnesses stand no chance.

    Hi Guys,

Hope you don't mind me rejoining you all?? I have read occasionally but not really up to speed with all your ups and downs; I have been thinking of you though.
I'm feeling much much better - my PsA is pretty much under control although i'm still wiped out at the end of the day if i've been swimming or walked any distance. It just feels really good to wake up knowing that within the hour i'm going to feel refreshed! Mar i've a call into the rhuematology dept about kelp, as i've been borderline in thyroid tests for years, get the ok to try it.
Other than that, my corner of Scotland is beautiful just now - long sunny days with little night - its just a fantastic boost! the garden is doing ok, we had our last frost late may so everything is behind, but looking hopeful if the rain stays away long enough for everything to get established.
Workwise we're getting busier supporting folks as the recession bites, and making headway with personal financial security slowly but surely.
Right, I have a day off today so laundry and housework planned, then a little time in the garden with my stitching,
Hope everyone has a peaceful day,
    WCS

mar i love ranges, my FIL has an aga, he thinks its great as it is multifuel, heats the water, cooks and keeps the whole house warm.

WCS :D Makes a world difference when the suns shining!

Its another lovely day :D Sun is shining, birds are singing, heaven again. Just managed to have a cuppa in peace, ds1 is in bed, OH and ds2 are out at school / work. First time over a month its amazing how much you enjoy the little things.

You never guess, after the meal i made yesterday, and it was pretty filling and big. DS1 about half an hour later said" i'm starving are the burgers defrosted yet. Not yet son." by 7pm OH, ds1 and 2 had scrammed down a 1/4 pounder, salad and bun and then had mine between them as i was too full!

Thanks for the info regarding the farmers market pops :)

Well better make a move and make more bread. Think i might make a foccacia too.

    Hi all,

I’m wondering if I could possibly join..?

    Abit about us:-

OH is the only one working at the moment. I’m suffering with depression, stress & anxiety.

This has now thrown us into debt, lack of household funds.
During the time I was left untreated I was in a complete daze and allowed our bills to become unmanageable therefore now, we’re in the solid brown stuff.

I have been refused ESA because apparently my partner is a high earner. (Under £200 weekly) & now been told that I need to try and apply for DLA. Which I done 4 weeks ago but have been told this can take up to 8 weeks for a decision to be made.

This has now woken us up completely.
Right now, As I type I’m a wreak, We have hit rock bottom. No food in the house, Up to until yesterday we never had a kettle, Bills are unpaid, ect.

I feel totally ashamed. How does anyone else manage to get out of bed when they are in a situation like this?
This forum has now become a lifeline for us. We now coupon, buy YS items just to make ends meat.

Sorry for the sob story, Just I feel this thread and its posters understands what its like to be at the bottom. I need some inspiration & support which reading I see this thread offers.
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

PrincessX87 when I stumbled on this forum back in 2006 I too was in the proverbial..£36,000 worth no less  I used the DFW forum and they are a huge help and support there too hun. We paid every last penny back and although it was a struggle we got there finally, there is always light at the end of the tunnel no matter how long that tunnel may seem at times! Do keep posting there is a great bunch of people on here and we all have our ups and downs.Look forward to reading your progress XXX

    Princess welcome hun!

Were the same, i suffer from depression and anxiety too. Its hard but honestly you will get through it. I take everything day by day, if i think to far forward i break down.

We are in an amazing amount of debt and we are slowly paying it off bit by bit. I try to make little challenges for myself, to try and improve my mood and our financial situation.

you know where we are hun x

I agree very much with all that has been said about vitamins/minerals etc...yes even Kelp...one thing when we mention things like that here we always put a kind of disclaimer on the thread and say it is helping us personally.

I have loads of sites that are v good to look at or send me regular information via my e-mail about such matters and general welbeing.

I think the sun may shine today but it is a bit chilly at present. I am in my final straight of tidying up...so that will keep me busy.

    I think/hope I'll make the deadline...

Kezlou, I am torn whether to go to the anniversary of D'ton Covered in Market(lots going on)or Saltburn...though that will be on again next month. There is(somewhere in the town)a kite flying event this saturday too.

I know about nearly every market/dates and times across Cumbria, Northumberland,Yorkshire, Durham, Teesdale and more so if anyone wants details just ask. :)

Have finally arranged for Mums ashes to come home...so another hurdle has been crossed.

    Princess,
You must have posted whilst I was writing mine...agree with all that has been said by others and no doubt you'll get advice/support from many more. We've all had our personal problems(money/health/caring for someone/unemployment)to deal with and will in the future.

Life can and does change in seconds and there is not always the help we are led to believe that there is...but you'll find it here.

The light at the end of tunnel probably cannot be seen but every day is one day nearer to that day and you will be stronger because of the experience and also be able to see the signs should depression and everything else start to return and hopefully deal with it quicker before it gets too great.

Wishing you and your OH well...
