Glad everyone is having the lovely weather - doesn't it make you feel better?
We did do the cash and carry and then went to the farm shop. It was so gorgeous that we phoned DIL and she and Mia joined us in the farm shop cafe for lunch. Mia did her usual beaming and dimpling to the other customers but was a bit taken aback by a nun in full habit.
DIL was very touched by the c&c gifts we had bought her, soap powder, nappies, baby milk and a joint of pork. We know how to spoil them.

Tomorrow I have threatened myself with a day in the garden. Would it be very wrong of me to pray for rain?

    Afternoon toughies

Another glorious day here, can't believe how good! :j What a chatty bunch over the last few days.

FUDDLE - I've been a childminder for a while, very rewarding if you get some good families. Glad you're back to being "just" a mum like me again - get texting, lass! :D

Have been slowly going through the freezer, some interesting meals still to come! We have to clear them and the pantry, too much stuff been there too long, and I want to get them sorted before the summer hols.

Taking DD out for a bit, will pop back later. Have a smashing afternoon everyone! :kisses2:

Was almost hot here today, 19C *in shock*. Got a fabulous expensive rose from the garden centre - a Mary Rose rose. :)
RV hauled it out of the pot to plant it and the top half of the roots came away :( so it's in the ground and will see how it does. Looking a wee bit sorry for itself so far but then so would I if I'd been ripped in half. He's paying for a replacement if it dies!

Best way to deal with the rose now is to see it as a "bare root ", which it near enough is if its lost its compost and soil, you really need to dig a hole larger than the pot was , then back fill with compost, add bit soil on the top and stamp it in well, then water it everyday for next 4 weeks then water it every 3 days, it should make it, water is vital to bare root plants , and espeically now the weather is warming and no rain.......

Hope it makes it.........You can only but try your best now with it, TLC......

It wont be no geed going back to the garden centre , because they arnt to blames, it came to you in perfect order, you could also give it a rose feed , which would also give it a good chance, I buy Miracle Gro, granules for roses..........

Beautiful day today, Ive been pottering in the garden , although I did cut a hedge, and I did check first and no birds nesting in there...........

Ive got a garden full of purple alliums, with ox eye daisies growing between in white , and now got some roses in flower, oh they smell beautiful, I just stand there sniffing them ,its so addictive .....:D

    Hope your all well....Sheila....

    Good afternoon. :)

Another glorious day. Girls back at school so spent a lot of it walking dog. Have to escape the house as right out my living room window are big hairy backed builders with their tops off. 'tis not a nice sight.

Cheaps I'm looking forward to my childminding course next Monday evening. Still heard nothing about any jobs I applied for. Think I've been out of the game for too long. Still, all adds weight to the decision.

It's tiring striving for bigger and better (andggetting no-where) Just to plod along calmly is something in looking forward to but I do need to feel I'm contributing to our finances.

I found some welly socks reduced in Asd* so put them away for girls' Christmas box.

Have a lovely evening everyone. We're headed to the garden again for our teas although we have no garden furniture I do have a freshly mown lawn and a picnic blanket ;)
  • FUDDLE if you want an instant garden, get the girls to do a big flower picture on some old paper, even on newspaper and, them pin it up on the fence in front of you, then when you have your picnic blanket in the garden you'll have some flowers to look at and they'll have fun making the mural, enjoy this lovely weather, it's super isn't it? Cheers Lyn xxx.

Thanks Shegar - that's what we've done. And the watering. :) I went to see the sea today... had a lovely day at North Berwick sat at the harbour watching the boats coming and going. Then fish & chips and a cone. :)

mar your day sounds lovely :), summers finally here!

Been another gorgeous day, so lovely and hot!

My friend came over today to visit myself and ds1 today, it was really nice just chilling and drinking tea :) ended uo chatting about all sorts and shes trying to persuade me to go out on friday night for a charity do eek  Still not sure what to do.

DS1 asked for fish cake and chips so spent £2.80 on his dinner, we ended up sharing it. There's still a plate of chips left over.
What can i say i'm a sucker, just so happy he's asking for food!!!:j

Think were going to have pork and noodle stir fry for dinner. DS2 is chuffed as he loves noodles. OH just came looking like he came back from a mine so forced to strip in the kitchen and go straight in the bath.
I'll wait for OH to get the bath before i make it as stirfry doesn't take long.
