Thank you muchly. Afternoon reading sorted for me.

Good morning. Girls off school still as teacher day so we've had a lazy one :D glorious day. Taking picnic to the park today. The only gardening I have to do is mow the lawn an I don't like that one bit. Lawns are increasingly getting on my nerves as they are space wasters that do nothing other than look pretty... But the girls do play handstands etc so at least it's useful for now.

Washing machine electric point getting fixed on Wednesday :D

So a bit of washing/tidying/cleaning then its a day of park and garden for us :D

    Enjoy

    Morning everyone!

What a beautiful day it is here, I feel so very happy. I think my moods are directly related to the weather and my hormones and nothing much I can do about either. :D I was itching to go out today, anywhere at all but have tons to do indoors so have resisted. Today is my only "free" day and even doing chores is fine when the sun is streaming through the open windows and fresh air coming in. I feel like I want to tackle everything today but sticking to what needs doing first. I have two coffee mornings this week so downtime then, one a birthday coffee, the other divorce support coffee (neither my events BTW).

2nd load of washing on, will do bits of handwashing lurking in the laundry bin (for months), dishwasher ready to go and bread proving. Some birthday cards and gifts ready to go. Online tasks done. Will bake some cakes and clean and tidy everywhere. Have a meal plan to finalise, am using up everything lurking in the fridge in true OS style. A good start to the week - I actually usually love Mondays, generally at my most energetic and who knows what the week ahead might bring?

Will look at those London websites later - thanks to those who posted. I usually do my own thing but will look at those for inspiration, my boys love walking round places as long as stop for plenty of food and drinks!

fuddle - your day sounds lovely, enjoy it!

re: cats purring. We must be lucky, our cats only purr when they are content, being stroked or just sitting on our laps. We have had them since tiny kittens, found out they were weaned too soon and I had to nurse them back to health. I have been their catmum ever since. They love being fussed over but will always go to my lap (and push each other out of the way) first if they have a choice.

right best not waste the day, going to bake banana loaf, blueberry muffins and something with lemons next.

    sq :):)

MRS CHIP, Thats sounds lovely going to the garden centre then off on a wildlife walk, how exciting , not knowing what you might see........

I got quite a few arches in the garden , well I mean I have 3 , each one as climbing roses with different colours and the scents are magic..Luvly....

I started off with one metal arch , then I gradually kept adding more , so in the end its now like a tunnel , I have 5 metal arches tied together with roses and ivy and a rambling rector rose climber on , its about 3 foot across and 7 foot long, its a magnet for wildlife, ive also put nesting boxes in with the ivy.......

Then ive got 2 wooden arches with clematis and climbing roses over........Which are now in bud........

I bought 2 Lavandula plants Sunday , so ive potted them up and they stand at front of bungalow, they dont want much watering so they should be easy to look after..........

The weather is super again today , about time I hear you all saying........Got loads a washing line dried today ......

Hubby in respite today til next Monday , so it gives my batteries a chance to re charge :D.........Sheila
  • SHEILA take a deep breath and enjoy your 'down' time and I hope with all my heart that this beautiful weather continues for you for the whole week, enjoy every second and as you say re charge your batteries, the spiritual ones too!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Was almost hot here today, 19C *in shock*. Got a fabulous expensive rose from the garden centre - a Mary Rose rose. :)
RV hauled it out of the pot to plant it and the top half of the roots came away :( so it's in the ground and will see how it does. Looking a wee bit sorry for itself so far but then so would I if I'd been ripped in half. He's paying for a replacement if it dies!

Oh Mar, RV gone a bit rampagious with it?

Beautiful, beautiful day. MIL came down with the paddling pool and lettuce seedlings and a clump of mint :D my peas have sprouted fairly over the course of the day.

Pinched DH's winter car box to grow my lettuces so will have to replace that eventually.

Question: how can I make a watering can?

Had my pension statement - £123

Anyone used Aldi sun cream? I'm nearly out and spied it was £2 something last time I was in. Is it any good?

Fuddle - I use a 4ltr milk bottle, just puncture the top with a skewer several times and put it back on. I use one for my little seeds and seedlings.
