Kez: I know just where you're coming from. I have had cats all my life and I've only ever had one difficult one. She was much loved and throughly spoiled, as all our cats are, and looked so sweet but if you stroked her she would purr contentedly and then without any warning sink her teeth into you. No, she didn't have a sore spot or anything like that, she'd just bite, you'd scream and she'd run off. I swear she was laughing.

I had another proposal of marriage again tonight. High as a kite he came for his customary hug, told me how beautiful I was, how blue my eyes were, how he'd always dreamt of a girl like me, ('girl' nearly had me persuaded) and what fabulous puddings I made. Ah..... so that was the idea..... He didn't offer to let me share his sleeping bag in the bushes on the recreation ground this time."Sounds reasonable." said a passing volunteer. Well he was. As reasonable as a newt.

It's our day off tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be good. We are going to the cash and carry.

    Hi,
Just testing to see if I can post images. I mentioned going out on Friday and being disappointed by a market event that was promoting health and well being but there was a section with birds of pray but they seemed to be being used just for photo's of children and them being placed on a heavy gloved hand...

There was another bird and an owl but I avoided taking images as that would have meant children were included and you have to be careful...

Aw fuddle I hope your new plans for your life come to fruition. Just be careful about buying those cheap pjs. I hate to think of the conditions they are made in to be able to charge so little for them. :(
Sorry but the working conditions in the factories of some of those big companies really upsets me. :o

    *goes back to lurking* :o

Hiya, PTP, :), I know what you mean, I've never shopped at Pr!mark, but mistakenly thought the big names, high prices companies were somehow different, but it seems not (H&M, Gap and so on). It's really hard to find out names, but came across this site, http://www.goodguide.com/about

not looked at everything yet but maybe you've seen it. I don't know what works with these companies, as if people boycotted what would happen to the workers...I struggle daily trying to balance living in an ethical way.

I've stopped eating meat recently, because of ethical reasons...not so hard as I thought it would be as making lush vegetarian dishes :D, although I still eat fish at the moment.

In my cat sitting life I come across quite a few cats like that! :rotfl:There's an absolutely gorgeous ginger cat who comes up to me purring like crazy, wanting to be petted...I have the battle scars... The vet had to put him under anaesthetic just to examine him. I've come to read the signs now but still get caught out.

My Polo-cat goes into wild cat mode when overwhelmed with petting.

It wasn't a conscious decision but I do eat many more meals that have no meat and fish and when it does I make it go a long way.

I don't miss it much and it is mainly fruit and vegetable based and now I also add yogurt and various mixes which add fibre by sprinkling it on various meals...

I have to admit I have been eating yellow stockered sandwiches since Friday instead of worrying about making meals and cooking. When sandwiches worth £2.50+ are being sold with good quality fillings and bread for £1 or less and have many vitamins/minerals and calories...its not bad...I've had chicken, cheese, ham, salad, egg, tuna, bacon and various combinations of all these fillings.

a very early good morning toughies, I don't have any pets now sadly but my parents used to have a cat. Furgo would come to you if he wanted petting, and then he always favoured my dad. Children were a definite no, he would hide.

Nearly a full day again at work today, well till 3ish. Tomorrow is the full 14 hours - im tired already.

Had a trip to the charity shop yesterday with OH, and we got a practically brand new oak table and 4 leather dining chairs. The chairs have cream leather, not ideal with OH but it was a bargain price.

Well must get my hair done and go.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning Campers!

Kidcat - if the children are up for walking, you can do many of the London sights by walking along the Thames path, and diving off at strategic points.
You might pick up some useful stuff here http://www.walklondon.org.uk/route.asp?R=6http://

Our cat can be purring one minute and savaging your hand the next, he has never been a lap cat, was a rescue so we don't know whether he was socialised as a kitten but the chances are he wasn't. I just have to read the signs and make a strategic retreat at the right time, I don't always get it right! After the incident in the spare room he never did it again outside his tray, so it must have just become habit.

Weather lovely again, and set fair for the week, so planning to do as much in the garden as possible. We are going to a garden cente Wednesday to see if they have the roses we want for the arch, will have lunch there, and a wander on their wildlife walk, it is in a lovely location by the coast and nice and remote.

    Have a lovely day everyone!
