i hate ironing, i used to do it for money when i was younger but not now.
Instead i hand things on coats hangers and on the line straight and crease free so i don't have to it.
Its a miserable today here in the north, the fog was so thick i couldn't see the back garden from the bedroom window. Its cleared a bit but now its just rain and mist.
kidcat fantastic news on the dla :T:T
We haven't applied for dla or any other funding for that matter with for ds2 or myself yet, my OH won't let me. But in the past couple of days i've thought s0d it and i'm going to apply. Honestly i'm sick of buying mattresses and asking for them off freegle. So i;m going to op0en a separate bank account and if we get awarded anything then it can go straight in there.
Were like stiltwalker - ds2's hypermobility and arthritis costs us a fortune in heating. The hosue id freezing ta the moment so i'm tempted to put the in, but i won't because the lads are still in bed. Another thing is we can't afford it either:(.
Not sure what were doing today, probably another game day or might phone up my sister and see if she's staying in. she only ten minutes walk away so its not to far. Also to do lots of paperwork, asi've neglected to do it for a while and its really building up.
On the plus side the two tomato plants and cucumber plant i planted out the back are alive :j:j:j0 -

Have just washed all the floors so am stuck in the study until they dry. I have been through all the kitchen cupboards and sorted out the ends of jars that accumulate and given them a wash and tidy, done the same in the store room and done the same in the fridge, is it by any chance that thing called Spring? I seem to be infected with the spring cleaning bug today, looks heaps better though.
When the lawn is dry we are going to SHHHHHH bath the lurcher!!!! so his towels can go on the lawn for him to dry off on, it's warm enough down here but it is NOT his favourite thing in the world so he will be very offy with me for the rest of the day I expect. He Who Knows is on the lottie and gathering in ye rhubarb whyle ye may, and is also going to take down a couple of dead small trees for the ladies in the sheltered housing flats that back on to the lotties, they asked him if he would and he's a kind boy so he said yes, mind he always does, he's a good'un. Nothing planned for today so will probably keep on sorting out the house, it always looks better for a good tidy up and the sea scouts jumble sale benefits from any rejects, can only be good. Have a good one everyone, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Morning toughies, TOMORROW IS VOUCHER DAY IN THE MIRROR NEWSPAPER.
I have been to see my friend, shes on her own with 3 girls. I have been sorting out her tax code, she is on 380t. So ive left her to call the tax office to try and sort it. Hopefully they can sort it and give her a big refund.
First load of washing is on, and ive packed my sandwich for my tea at work later. Hopefully today will be a better at work, and no one will feel the need to shout at me when all I am doing is following company procedures.
I have paid the car tax today, I just wish other people would tax there car's too. Next door have had no car tax since march, surely this invalidates insurance (if they have any) as the car isn't fully road worthy?? Oh well at least I have done our car.
Well must hoover before I leave. Take care everyone xBSC member 137

Looked ok earlier so we went out to Haddington for Aldi and a wander. Got caught in a very heavy shower, the RV was seriously not happy
I am though - I got into a real butchers! He had stuffed black grouse and pheasant on display, he had venison sausages, steak sausages, he had a huge pretty basket full of eggs on the counter for you pick your own, and he had steak & kidney! So it was worth getting wet. I didn't anyway, I always buy jackets with hoods. The RV got wet though. I didn't laugh. Honest. :rotfl::rotfl:
Got home and the neighbour had left me a pile of lovely Ikea white plant pots, so will get bedding plants for them and put them on the front steps.
I feel a lot better recently, for anybody else with ME - I started on Kelp tablets, and I def have a bit more oomph.0 -
Good that you're feeling better MAR and I am envious of your lovely butcher, what a find. All we need now to complete your betterness is some nice dry weather, if it could be warm too that would be good, but I get the feeling just dry would be enough, yes? Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Glad you got your oomph back Mar, wish you lived nearer I have trays of bedding plants that we bought for pennies and am running out of room to plant them. Its a dull drizzly day here so am confined to barracksClearing the junk to travel light

Lots of fruit/veg to use up so thinking late breakfast of yogurt, fibre and fruit. Main meal Jersey potatoes, turkey and other vegetables but so many I can choose from...have to decide whether to have it dry or with gravy."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Thanks for the links anakat, very kind of you to post them. I remembered I ordered the free railcard offer (thanks MSE!)so have decided to go to one of the big, free London museums while we can go a bit cheaper. Railcard expires 31st July which means it is valid for the first week of our summer hols and we will be a mile away from a train station so might be useful then too. Plus just remembered I have the freebie £5 rougespootedhanky voucher to use too off rail fares yay!!
Friend lives near a station so is going to pick us up and drive back to hers to save me parking fees, we are taking a picnic to eat in the indoor picnic room and made a pact to bypass the gift shop.
I haven't seen that website before anakat so will definitely look for the 6 week school hols, some good ideas thank you.Have you been to the free activities at Lakeside?

Hi fellow ironers
I too confess to loving ironing. I used to do a friend's as well when the children and I used to visit. She used to detest doing it, and I loved to help. I still enjoy it, and I always make sure I have some essential oils to drop in the iron with water so the room smells of lavender as an added extra:)
We have lovely warm weather today and the washing has dried fast, so ironing as it comes off the line. Lovely to catch up with you all, take care MargaretxDo a little kindness every day.;)0 -
I knew I wasn't entirely alone, it's lovely how many of us do like ironing though, thanks all! Thanks to He Who Knows being kind this morning we now have half a cradle full of lovely heavy hawthorn logs for free to start us off with the wood pile this year, can only be good. I don't know why stacking logs is so satisfying, but it is!!! Happy now, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
