    Me again!

Welcome back jem. Sorry to hear things have been difficult for you and hope you are able to post on here when you want to. Sending you a massive hug.

Monnagran - I have a lovely picture of little Mia crawling backwards at speed with a huge grin on her face! Shame about your denuded garden and what a kind, generous heart you have.

Liskay - a hug for you too. Hope work is helping you at the mo and the diazepam is kicking in. Sounds like you need some toughies' support too.

Hugs and positive thoughts to anyone else who needs them.

Will have another cuppa, didn't drink much yesterday (think queues... :rotfl:) and feeling thirsty all the time. All the dishes done and kitchen tidy so will sort some laundry after... some days I actually need to just concentrate on the laundry pile and nothing more taxing...

    sq:)

Screens banned today as that often kickstarts rows, evil things sometimes.

    sq:)

sq, I do this often, no tv, pc, or whatever, and def at mealtimes! Having re-read Remotely Controlled by Aric Sigman recently, I feel vindicated - very scary reading in some places, but should be required reading for everyone, especially those with young children!

I've rejoined the hoarding thread as our home is fast becoming not a home, and I need it back now, to improve our collective sanity! I've read some other psychology books recently, a common thread suggests (quite sensibly!) that living in a mess physically doesn't help, and can worsen, your mental state. As I'm on the slow hill back up to "me", I feel ready to start tackling it all, so I don't get ill again!

fuddle, enjoy your jollies, keep in touch will you?

    A xo

I can relate to a lot of your posts Cheaps. I will see if I can borrow that Sigman book and I think we will go back to "screen tokens", a system we use in our house to limit screen usage. Boys given a weekly allowance of tokens (each token represents 30 mins each and a maximum daily allowance applies.) That makes sure we are in control over actual number of hours of screens used but boys have some control too and monitor themselves better.

I've also rejoined the hoarding thread thanks to you.

we will get there, baby steps in the right direction...

    off I toddle ...

good morning!!! we have light rain showers here, I am so glad we managed to get the garden sorted yesterday.

Fuddle have a lovely restful break away. The sandwiches for the journey sound lovely. Nothing beats having a picnic on a long journey, and it also saves a good few pennies.

I took a picture to get framed today, and was shocked when they said it would cost nearly £30, so I will need to find somewhere internet based that is considerably cheaper. If anyone has any ideas please can you share.

Well must start preparing tea for OH and DD, and pack my sandwich for my tea. take care everyone x

Do you have time to trawl the charity shops for frames (take any pics out), I often do that, although it's a good idea to take a tape measure along. :o

    What a revolting day. : (
DH took the car to work today so we are confined to home, with a couple of rainy walks to visit the house rabbit we are looking after while her owners are away. She's quite elderly and such a contrast to our bunnies who never stop moving.
We've also done the dreaded clearout under both cabin beds and it's looking so much neater. A few binbags of stuff, lots more washing (!), a much fuller bookcase and some Build a Bear stuff to sell.
Now I think it's homemade popcorn and a film to pass the time. I do hope it doesn't rain the whole half term! I have some teaching to bake planned but if we can't go out I will go slowly crazy.

sq the cakes sound lush :)

We have days like that where no screens at all, instead we just listen to music, play toys, colouring and books. Its works quite well and gives us all a time out. Our boys (and myself) are emotional too, i think its being cooped up in the house for the past few weeks with illnesses etc

Jem - nice to see you back hun ((hugs))
    Fuddle - enjoy your holiday!
mcculloch - the horses are gorgeous, great ayton is so nice, we often sit by the stream while the kids play in it. Perfect place for a picnic and of lush ice creams! OH and ds1 love Petches pork pies!

Well the garage is finally fixed! Only took the council three months to fix it! The workers are lovely though and very funny, just made them a cuppa.

Sadly because of the rain we've lost about 12kg of flour :mad: So just been sorting more things out for the bin that have been trashed in the rain. It means now i have to face up to my hoarding tendencies :o to be honest i'm looking forward it as i finally start to declutter my mind, in the vain hope it helps.
Went to see the GP today and she has upped my antidepressants from 20 to 40mg she said its still a low dosage.

I'm knackered today, been hocking up green flem, i hate chest infections. Just hoping i can sleep tonight, only had an hour so i''m pretty shattered. Still the boys have perked up :D Fingers all will be well on Thursday as they is a free family fun day for children with disabilities / special needs.

What a miserable day! Thick misty fog and heavy rain.....not cold though which is something.

DD2s birthday today, DD1 has taken her to London for the day, lunch and off to see a tv show recording this evening. No idea what time they'll get home, but they stay in touch so we know where they are. DD1 was getting very bossy last night to her younger sister...."make sure your bag is done up, don't carry it with the pockets on the outside, put your phone out of sight, if we get separated head for the train station....." lol was quite sweet to see her take responsibility.

I'm decluttering too, it's that time of year I think. I normally don't have hoarding issues but since all the building works been going on I seem to have lost a grip on what's coming in. I sorted through a big chest of drawers in the living room, chucked loads, rehomed loads to the rightful places and managed to have 2 clear drawers at the end. What's the betting the clutter fairy fills them up again?

Welcome back Jem we have missed you.
Fuddle, enjoy your break. It doesn't matter what the weather is like just being away from home and in a different environment does you good. Does Alfie send postcards? I'm sure Dockie would like to know that he is on holiday. He needn't worry about the spelling as Dockie doesn't spell.

There is something very special about old planes isn't there? My FIL was in the RAF during the war,and also in SOE. He flew Lysanders and dropped agents behind enemy lines - which is where he met my step MIL, she was one of the agents. Brave people who had to be persuaded to talk about their exploits after the war, they were very casual about the whole thing. But like the rest of you I get a lump in my throat when I see a fly-past.

Well, today was designated 'gardening day'. I was geared up to dragging sacks of farmyard manure, (or 'poo' as it is called round here) down to the vegetable beds and digging it in. Hallelujah! It's raining. Saved by the weather. I firmly agree with the person who said that the only way to garden is to put on a shady hat, grasp a cool drink and tell the man where to dig.
I was very quick to put on the heating this morning, (naughty monnagran!), put on the lights and pick up a book. I'm finding it hard to get out of holiday mode.

Cheapskate, I should really join you in decluttering. I'm not too bad but books and paperwork are threatening to take over the world here. Most of the clutter is not mine but trying to stop the Rev collecting things that might, or might not, be useful for displays in the future is like trying to stop the tide coming in. But I'm not blameless and am going to make a real effort to get my stack of stuff under control.

And I'm not going to do it sitting here.
    Good bye!
