Morning Toughies, it's blissfully damp here this morning, soft and lovely gentle rain that has been falling steadily overnight and hopefully will continue for most of the day and water our plots and fill up our water butts,on the down side of that though the weeds will now grow twice as fast as the proper plants, but we have had so little rain over the past few weeks, this is much needed.
He Who Knows cut all the lawns last evening and I'm glad he managed to do it, we'll have had hayfields otherwise. McCULLOCH what beautiful photos you've posted for us, she will make a beautiful adult and I'm a devotee of Jack Russels anyway, but he is beautiful. I'm glad he has made a good recovery from his stroke, he looks such a nice boy!!!
FUDDLE have a nice break away with your in laws and just enjoy yourselves, you deserve it!!!
Have a good day everyone, I'm houseworking, ironing and meal planning from the freezer, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

For Jack Russell fans, this is the Angrove dog, Charlie. He was very ill last week - he had a stroke, but has made a very good recovery, as dogs often do from this.
In the bottom of the pic you can see the Stedifoot gizmo fitted to my walking stick. It's a shaped 'foot' which clips on to the stick. It's to aid with uneven and slippery surfaces, which was a real help on grass and rough ground yesterday.
Sure were Mcculloch! Saw the children playing in the stream, families having picnic on the village green and just thought, yes I woul like to live round here.
So pleased to read so many of us are happy and enjoying some good days.
Jem welcome back
Thank you for the well wishes for my jollieswe'll be off soon, just tucking into weetabix, packed ham and pease pudding sarnie for the journey and lucking for to tea and cake when we get there. Got shorts, flip flops, wellies and rain coat. You never know up there and between the mountains even the weather can't seem to forecast locally. To the person who lives there
I shall be waving when I pass
Hoping to keep logging on to read but doubt ill be posting because dont want a data bill in my phone bill.

Morning All,
Wishing you a nice few days away Fuddle, missed that you were going away(safe journey)its a change...
Lovely photo's mcculloch and again nice to hear you got out of the tow for a few days...that impliment for adding to the walking stick, looks great. I may get one myself:)I know how my stick sometimes shoots away if the pavement is a bit wet.
Sorry you disappeared for the reasons you had to Jem but glad you are feeling happier. And we all have to deal with depression our own way and its not easy.
Its a dull day weatherwise here, catching up on the usual tasks(cleaning, polishing, dusting)putting stuff into cupboards. Pretty good though. Waiting for the annual central heating check later today...

POPS it's good to have the odd day to not have much to do, it helps recharge the old batteries!!! Hope you have put your stress of last week behind you and are feeling much happier now, have a good day, Cheers Lyn x.0

Off to father in laws caravan in west coast Scotland Pops. Just a few days but we're all very excited for a laugh and a rest. We're just at Penrith and had 'are we nearly there yet?' Still in blimmin' England!

good morning!!! we have light rain showers here, I am so glad we managed to get the garden sorted yesterday.
Fuddle have a lovely restful break away. The sandwiches for the journey sound lovely. Nothing beats having a picnic on a long journey, and it also saves a good few pennies.
I took a picture to get framed today, and was shocked when they said it would cost nearly £30, so I will need to find somewhere internet based that is considerably cheaper. If anyone has any ideas please can you share.
Well must start preparing tea for OH and DD, and pack my sandwich for my tea. take care everyone xBSC member 137

Nutty does the picture have to be framed professionally? I was in Wilkinsons yesterday and they had such a large range of frame sizes to choose from."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

It will mean seven hours of travelling by bus(return)and only six hours there but I may visit Scarborough this coming Saturday. Ideally, I could've perhaps stayed over until Sunday/Monday but I want to be home on Sunday for a remembrance service for Mum and Dad.
Why this weekend for the trip? There is a food festival and my friend will have her stall there...
Perhaps I'll have my new camera too to take some images for my blog etc..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Afternoon all,
I am sitting here in PJs with tons to do and no energy, physical or emotional to get me going. Had a good but tiring day to a theme park for DS9's birthday yesterday. Traffic was fine but the queues for the rides... why? why? why? is all I can say. DS9 didn't get to sleep til after 12, he is always the same so DH, DS9 and myself were feeling it yesterday.
We got in free with test-my-patience-cos and took a picnic and drinks but still spent more than planned. Toll charges, car park charges (the cheek!) and a round of icecreams and a coffee alone nearly £15 (even the lovely young lad serving commented on the bill). We usually bypass any giftshops but made an exception for a birthday trip and was annoyed to find a lot of the stuff unpriced but lots of staff hanging about doing nowt. The moment I complained about the lack of prices, one staff member scurried about with a labelling gun.
Not my ideal day out but the boys plus a friend loved it and we did have fun.
Birthday cake was so big that it became two cakes and even they are very generous in size. Studded one with jellybeans which DS9 loved and called "crazy cake" and the other a little more tastefully decorated with various choc decorations, that one's "posh cake". They are the BEST cakes ever mum!
Today however the tiredness, emotions etc have got the better of both boys and they had a big argument. I had to cancel our plans to have friends over for lunch and birthday cake followed by an art session (run by schools). Not ideal but boys just not coping so we are now having a PJ day and calm is restored. Screens banned today as that often kickstarts rows, evil things sometimes.
Think we may have to convert the box room which is our only proper storage area into a bedroom so boys can have a room each as I think having their own space would help a lot. That would mean a major declutter and cull of things - all good and positive but means I need to face some of my hoarding/clutter demons in bigger go rather than the gentle approach I currently take.
Well chores to do, so will intersperse with cuppas as feeling emotionally fragile. Feelings not helped with all the stuff sent by extended family, letters, photos, answerphone messages etc yesterday as DS's birthday. In some ways very kind and thoughtful but with my sister, also an undercurrent of emotional blackmail which thankfully only DH and I pick up on.
