Yes I wouldn't be surprised if it's weather related ya'know..My friend was bitten 2 years ago by, she doesn't know what, but is still now suffering from horrendous blisters breaking out and skin probs it's really getting her down she's being pumped full of pills and has to wear surgical wraps on her legs at times when it flares up,all from an insect bite!
ETA Have a lovely day Fuddle and Kez0 -
Maybe it's one good thing about Scottish weather - being too cold and wild for horrible wee beasties
Just got midges up here

Morning all,
I am being naughty today, bunking off my course! I told them I was unwell and its true I feel ill, sore throat, thumping head but probably could have dragged myself in to be honest. I really want to have a chat with the tutor/s about my concerns but just not up for it today. We are meant to be discussing amongst other things how we feel about the group (if they stick to the plan which is always doubtful) and I don't feel strong enough today to be brutally honest with them but would find it impossible to lie. Decided to take a breather and either go back next week, see how I feel and have a word or maybe phone the tutor I get on with better in the week for a chat. My gut feeling is telling me to quit but I want to be sure that's the best thing for me.
So DH is working from home today and Monday so we save best part of £30 in fares which is great as our bank balance is getting low. I popped into Test(my patience)co to get couple of specifics I only get there and for a change did a bit of browsing. The prices! the prices! I stood staring at a twin 'value' pack of branded choccy digestives and it was £3.20! I was just rooted to the spot in shock and from there got chatting to a lovely woman about shopping practices and prices. She told me her life story, always happens to me, I love chatting to strangers!
DS6 has a friend over after school - a rare occurence as not many children to invite from those DS plays with and likes. Some go to after school care, couple of mums are unfriendly, couple only allow their kids over here for free childcare and tea (DS6 never gets invited back). It's a minefield really. Anyway it will be chaos as this particular boy is very excitable but he loves coming to ours and so glad two little boys will be happy together.
Planning to finally get on with some tidying, don't want DS6 feeling embarrassed at all the stuff that needs putting away. I really have to get a grip on the clutter, it's an ongoing project but come to a standstill of late. Interspersed with tidying will be lots of tea/coffee as I'm feeling a rotten raspberry.

I think your meeting up sounds great Fuddle/Kezlou...I would have taken everything at a much slower pace yesterday on my own. Done a lot of sitting down.
The exhibition was full of pretentious rubbish one room just had massive rectangle blocks that looked like stone but were polystyrene, some had a metal strip in them. On the wall was a kind of small picture hanging of wheat with a loop of 35mm film through it.
The same artist had another display, a room which you look into with two tables in it.
Another artist had a number of images being projected into a room on a loop and the images were doing very little, one was just the back of someones head.
The same room had what looked like an old printing press the kind schools used to use when they used to do their own newsletters placed on the floor.
Too many examples to try and explain away.
How we killed two or three hours in there I have no idea.
Then the concert...I know you have to encourage new musical talent but most performing were not as good as what you see in a school concert or at my free music club on the town and those performing last night are on a university course.
At my club we have new, young artists that come along that have never attended a course and they can really play their instruments and some write their own songs.
The audience were responsive...of course they were, as often they were in the show waiting to go on or had been earlier and I supect that most were parents, family, relatives and friends. I don't think they were good enough for the X factor auditions. No charisma or that special something."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. I went into Mr T when I was doing the live on £4000 challenge. I had been making my own laundry soap for about 18 months and one day had a wander down the detergent aisle. I had to clap my hand to my face to stop myself screaming. I could not believe how much the prices had gone up.0

Re choccy digestives, did you spot what makes this a real doozy of an offer. According to mysupermarket, the exact same biscuits in their separate 400g packs are currently on offer in Tesco for £1 each. So buy 2 separate 400g packs, pay £2. Or snap up the bargainous 2x 400g "big value pack" for a ludicrous £3.20.
Don't you just love supermarkets!0 -
alltrustgone - I didn't get over the shock enough to look at the other packs! In fact I bought the value pack at about 59p. I rarely buy these sorts of things in Mr Ts just got them today to help DH who is struggling to do 4 sets of complex, academic minutes for work.
as you say though, supermarkets, can't trust em as far as you could throw em! well spotted.
well I pushed past feeling very pantsy and got the house clean and tidy (excluding our bedroom...that's a job on it's own) to a rough standard ie. floors hoovered/swept but not mopped, sinks and loos sparkling but bath not cleaned, you get the picture. Took an age to sort mountains of books and toys!
off to collect my darlings plus extra whippersnapper then doing as least as possible, just cooking tea/dinner and refereeing and being a taxi service.

I've had a lovely day with kezlou
she took me to an oldy worldy tea shop that had every kind if tea on the shelf to choose from. I had no idea! We opted for pot of tea with cinnamon notes amongst others and drank out of china tea cups and saucers (auld fat fingers here kept holding it like a mug!) we had cake and a natter, wander around the shops, a bit of a Primark spend then another cafe where I had a chai latte. Oh.my.word! Beautiful. Out classes a hot chocolate!
Kez and I got on like a house on fire, lots of giggles and talking about our quirks. Really very comfortable and as if we'd been friends for years. About half way through our 4 hours it dawned on us thy it could have all gone horribly wrong. Kez is very much a sweet heart and looked after me.
£4 day ticket got me there and back and even means I can use it to go where kezlou lives so might just be able to meet up more often! Kez is a bargain hunter and so interesting to see the same battle over whether something is a bargain, do I really like it, am I making do, should I hold off and ultimately walking away. I do that all the time and Kez did that today although I have to admit to seeing top = buying top pretty darn quickly... Primark though so allowed, no?
So as I type I have mixed spice, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and ginger infusing with tea bags in the hope of making my own chai tea tonight. Kez knows her tea!!0 -
Savingqueen, not surprised you didn't notice, I'm frequently stopped in my tracks at prices too. Can't do a quick supermarket shop these days, too much time needed to check value for money.
Oh, the joys of writing minutes, hope DH enjoys the treat and it inspires.

Now that's my kind of day...glad you enjoyed it Fuddle(I'm sure Kezlou did too)that day ticket at £4 is good value, here that would cost around £7.60 just maybe if more bus companies did this more people would be able to use their services.
I mean with some planning you could do a visit, a shop and possibly something else. Or if its a heavy shopping day where items needed are at various places you can travel to them all...
Going to have a look out see if there are any quick bargains on the reduced shelf, may look at that camera if any are left. Finish smashing up an old chest of drawers(I have an old bereau)might be Victorian, its ok but means nothing to me so may try and get rid of it. Creates more space.
Will come home have a quick meal then back to a big go at clearing things(been lazy because of yesterday)but it has to be done and it won't wash with them...can listen to the radio whilst I set about things..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
