GQ my OH translates prices into old money which makes everything sound much worse :rotfl: Im comparing prices all the time and its getting very boring. Custard creams are 31p at Mr A and 41p at MR T so stocked up today.
Went to local landfill with old video's and cardboard boxes from out of the garage today. As usual I came back fuming, a nice Ik*a dining set the same as mine and about 8 folding chairs all tipped -:mad: - surely the ex owner could have found someone to take it but no probably couldnt wait a day or two for some one to pick it up. We are working our way through the garage and re-homing what we can as we may have to stop renting it, its only cheap but its another bill.
Kezlou and fuddle glad you had a lovely time and turned out to be on the same wavelength (never doubted it).
Rosie, so sad for you, sending hugs, think you have probably had your share this week, hope things buck up soon. Im expecting the loss of my puddy tat soon as he is getting very old very quickly. He is at present asleep on Oh's bed comforting the old man who has real flu. Phoned GP and demanded a prescription for antibiotics as really couldnt face the weekend with him so pooh and they gave them me  Either that or he could have an appointment next Thursday - realistically people could be dead by then - bring back the Gp who made house calls and knew your family history without notes and didnt have to go online to find out what meds to give youClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

I had hoped for a stress free end for her, but the vet had trouble and my poor puss squealed several times. She was nearly 20 so a good age, but no age is a good when it is time to lose them. Now have a headache from crying.
What with that and confirmation of redundancy due on Monday, it is not going to be good few days.
RIP puss. Missing you already.

Oh Rosie - how awful for you & Puss. I'm so sorry you've lost your Furbaby. They really do become part of the family - HugsSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Awhh wee puddytat will be hunting meeces on the other side now, fit as a fiddle. And will come back to visit you xxx
I need to know something - what is the proper name for those door curtains made of strips of plastic or beads or shells, that you put up in summer to keep flies out?0 -
RPP, I am so sorry about your puss cat, huge hugs. x
Popperwell said Eddie has special needs and depending on those special needs, may have a reality that is different. What seem like fantasies may be excited plans as he believes he has a new friend, possibly his first outside of the sheltered housing. Yes, special needs are "allowed" out and it is very possible he does not know the rules of friendship or what should be paid for. He may have a daily allowance only.
I am an advocate of honesty and openness and not making excuses or avoidance, this just makes the self esteem of the person concerned, which is already fragile, plummet, instead of "excuses" which "are seen through".
You can legitimately say the age gap is too great/inappropriate and you can also contact the support workers at the sheltered housing who I am sure will be familiar with Eddie's "attachments" to people and can talk to him.
I am an expert on people being taken advantage of, I am sure Popperwell you are intelligent and astute enough to handle this and not be "taken advantage of " yourself.
My daughter's "fantasies" would break your heart knowing they can never come true.0 -
Byatt that is really well put
