I am no longer sceptical about homeopathy since I have seen animals given it get better. There is no way you can brainwash an animal into thinking itself better is there?0
-
Re homeopathy, the logical part of my brain is saying that the animals maybe responded to the extra attention of having the homeopathy 'delivered' to them, or would have recovered anyway. I would love to be really proved wrong by rigourous scientific experiment, as that would stand the world on its head.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

I managed to go with Eddie and also avoid having to get a taxi home...but I am approx £10 out of pocket. The complimentary ticket was not valid and I had to pay. I managed to talk him out of going into the Baltic's(its a place on the lines of the Tate modern)restaurant and ordering a meal and paying silly money. There was no way I was going to.
You can imagine how expensive it was when you had a barman making and serving cocktails etc...I found myself paying for a pot of tea and coke for him in the area for poorer people and even that cost near £5.
It was hard work and I am shattered physically and mentally but I managed to get back in time for the last bus to my town. He has supposedly all kinds planned for me over the co ing year but I am a little scepitcal and has a Walter Mitty mind and has fantasies, I am wondering what is real or unreal.
Not saying its done maliciously. But even if made up what he comes out with is amazing.
I attended my first art exhibition and found it boring, wasn't sure what the hell I was suppose to make of what I was looking at. One can only guess what the artists were paid.
Even the concert was boring and I was so happy when it was over. Thankfully it barely lasted two hours and that included a 15 minute interval. A previous one two days ago was longer.
To be honest I am glad to be home and back to tidying my home...and have a good run at it as I am not out again until Sunday night for a couple of hours and Tuesday for a couple of hours otherwise I can just get on and have peace and calm."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Good morning all have great plans this morning to sit on my bum for half an hour for a change
:D
Been a busy few weeks with all the work in the garden but hopefully it'll all pay off later in the year.
Trying to cover all bases for when DS2 leaves school as he's due for a heart op around the same time.
We'll be losing his tax credits in September *I think* so having to plan around that and rejig the already stretched budget.
I may have to start Ebaying again but it's hard to find the time when there's so much else going on here thats why I had to give up work in the first place, and I don't know how long his recovery period will be as this is his first op on his heart.
Theres been a spate of nasty insect bites around here in the last couple of years too with a lot of bites going nasty, wonder why??
Right off for a quick read around before I have to start have a great day all XX0 -
Morning Toughies, I'm orf on me travels again for a few days, have a concert to go to and a telephone engineer to let in to fix the broken line so I'll be out and about until Tuesday at the earliest, don't think I've abandoned you but DD1 currently has no broadband so I probably won't be able to post until I'm home again (what's that sigh of relief I hear?????). Look after yourselves , Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Have a nice visit, Mrs LW and hurry back and post lots.
DD&D, I wonder if its the weather. We used to have malaria here in the UK; the Romney Marshes were a particularly bad place, as were several other marshy parts of the country.
I've met a woman who was bitten by a tsetse fly in southern England in a back garden. She swatted the biter off the back of her hand and it fell to the ground dead. When her hand started to swell dramatically, she was rushed to A&E and someone had the wit to take the dead insect with her.
The docs looked it up in a reference work and had to send to London for the treatment. It was several weeks after when I saw her hand and she looked as if she'd been bitten by a dog. :eek:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Enjoy Lyn, speak soon! x
Thank you for all the avon skin so soft recommendations. I will get online later and see if I can find a representative (to avoid postage)I'm a bit concerned of a moisturiser that repels insects mind...
I will look into the natural remedies for it, thank you! I am looking to do it as naturally as I can but the avon stuff is a welcome quick fix.
Pops I hate trips that cost an arm and a leg, tire you out, bore you and take forever to get home. Same thing happened to us to Blackpool last year (sorry if others love the place). We went for a day trip, had high expectations as others love the place. Hated it, girls walking past doors with skantily clad (very! Scantily clad) girls on the door enticing people in (on a Sat afternoon) the fair was extortionate to get in so girls had to look through the fence (felt rubbish about that) went on beah were youngest bust her pupae she fell and as it was illumination time we got stuck in standstill traffic for 2 hours before we could drive down to see the lights by which time kids had fell asleep! Got home after midnight, never again!! So I feel your pain pops and the word thing is you'll remember the experience more than an enjoyable one
Just waiting for the bus to go meet kezlou. Cannat remember what she looks like but never mind!wish me luck, I don't do new places alone very well. I'm more nervous about the bus and bus station than I am about meeting kez!
Have a lovely day everyone0
