    Very well put byatt xx

Rosie so sorry to hear about your kitty, its awful when they leave us. (Hugs) xx

Just got back from taking the boys to see horrible histories play. It was great, we went with a good friend of mine and her children. We all really enjoyed it, ds2 had trouble the shoulting so he just sat on my knee and blocked his ears sometimes. It was really good though as the tickets were heavily discounted and was a special performce for children with asd.

So today has been great seeing fuddle and seeing a play, was fab. A complete change from we normally do.

Kezlou, pleased you've had a break from the norm an that everyone enjoyed the play.

Really awful weather here with persisting down :(

DH fishing and my mam is coming down to stay the night. Trying to muster enthusiasm.

Forgot to tell you that my neighbour reversed into my car last night. I've a cracked bumper but hers is a mess. I told her bit to worry about it but a feeling a bit stupid now as by rights I should have my bumper fixed. Too soft when it comes to standing up for my rights in person and more concerned with falling out with people who live near.

Well best roll my sorry behind out of bed and get going!

Sausage, onion gravy, carrots , mash and yorkshires for tea and an aldi apple and custard strudel for afters.

I have nothing crafty going on right now so might well get some cheap Wilkos wool and crochet myself some slippers. Right there's some enthusiam, drool over ravelry with my breakfast cuppa ;)

stiltwalker belated happy birthday wishes to your DS, hope he has a lovely cakefest tomorrow.
Am glad you have re-discovered dressmaking, my friend says she finds it really destressing and after a bad day she will often immerse herself - to my DD7 benefit most times :)

I received my AF order yesterday as I am going all out to build my store cupboard right up before OH finishes, we have good stores anyway but I want to get them really full. Have decided to invest in washing powder, DW powder washing up liquid, toilet rolls, bleach and stardrops for the utility cupboard. Then on cereal, pasta, rice and flour for the main stores. Then as much pet food as possible, I usually buy a sack of dog food every month, I am going to try to get one a week at the moment and store in loft. Cat tins and litter too :)

Am taking a trip to Costco next week as I am getting some stuff for PTA, but will definitely be getting our stuff too. I am also going to get all the uniforms bought early and get DD18 whatever she needs for Uni asap.

I figure that if I can amass a minimum of three months stuff we can ride anything out :)

So sorry to hear about your cat RPP. Thinking of you and sending a massive hug. Take it easy.

We have another ordinary weekend planned. A list of boring chores, kids' homework, reading and dance class and some baking. Hoping to get some sewing repairs done and if time the hedge tamed, it's looking wild!!

Taking DS6 into town tomorrow am to buy a little birthday gift for DS8 and DS8 to a party in the afternoon (where I'll stay to catch up with a friend whose son has also been invited.)

Party is 4.30 to 6.30 and I know the kids going will be 8/9 but even so we won't get back til nearly 7. DS will be starving as the those hot party boxes they do don't fill him up - he doesn't like the mandatory chips they always have for one thing. To me eating after 7 on a school night is a bit late. It's surprising how late some kids go to bed. I think 8/8.30 is late enough for DS8 but he doesn't go to sleep for ages if we send him to bed earlier. He also reads for the last half hour or more to wind down.

better get off my btm and get weaving
    sq:)

more belated birthday wishes to DS from me stiltwalker - enjoy those cakes!

fuddle - how bad is your car's bumper? I too have let people off minor damage to our car as it's already so battered and bruised but if it wasn't superficial damage I'd think again. You could always pop into a garage and see what they think. Get a quote if needs be and mention to the neighbour? You could always say you didn't realise it would cost x to repair.

oh and good luck for tonight ;)

kidcat - that's our kidcat, planning ahead. Whatever happens re DH's job, you will get through with good planning I'm sure. You're an inspiration!

fuddle - I agree with SQ, you need to find out how bad the damage is, your neighbour can still arrange to have it repaired privately rather than her claiming on her insurance.
The trouble with bumper damage is that it can hide other more significant stuff underneath - definitely get it checked out.

RPP so sorry to hear about your cat. Hugs xxx

Fuddle, for what it's worth I'd also nip past a garage and just check that whatever damage has been done won't cause your car to fail it's next MOT.

Kidcat, I always feel better once I have a plan in place for dealing with things. Hugs to you too xxx

SQ I'd give him something to eat before the party if you know he won't eat the food, then he can have a bowl of cereal or some toast before bed. Mine never eats the food out of those boxes either.

Off to prise the house elf off the sofa to go shopping. We need some birthday cards and some wrapping paper. Something else is bound to sneak home with us too if I'm taking him. Take care all of you.

    Morning All,
Well, I was going to attempt to mow my stamp sized lawn at the front of the house, ready for friday's visit(worry about the back garden later in the week)as the rain in the last week had made everything shoot away and it had finally dried out.

Overnight it has rained such a lot I'm back to square one...:mad:Still plenty to do so time won't be wasted.

Busy weekend coming soon at the end of May...My birthday, a concert by virtually the members of the 60's band Manfred Mann and finishing with(hard for me to believe)the second remembrance service since Mum's passing.

And of course this next week we have the return of the HA again...

So where did the summer go?

I seem to remember last year wasn't much better weather wise.

Fuddle, I do hope the car damage isn't too bad. Do you know when I was driving I never ever had one accident caused by me. They were all bumps from others. Yes, that included a bumper incident and the other meant a rear light unit had to be replaced because a learner bike rider rode past and was too near and broke it with his bikes sticking out indicator light.

Kidcat, I hope everything falls into place regarding OH's redundancy and you manage to get ahead so there is a buffer whilst/if things are difficult that's why I have my food store and bought things ahead so feel the reaction to my store was an over reaction by the HA(they kind of hinted I had too much without actually saying so)can you ever have too much these days?

Whether in a private or rented home. I Know many more people these days are prepping for hard times and they may be ok on the kind of wages they are being paid but for many a situation can change within seconds due to illness or unemployment.

And changes in Government policies...I also find that people react in two ways now if it comes up about prepping in conversation...That it is a good idea, relief to hear that others are doing so because they are not alone.

    aw what a nightmare fuddle:(

good be an idea to get it checked out just in case as sq and kidcat have said just in case there's something more serious.
Have to say i'm the same as you. I would have have probably left it than upset the neighbours.

Think were going to open day at stewarts park, OH has been for a run there in the pouring rain. He came back totally soaked and shivering. His lips were going blue, so run him a hot bath to go in. He reckoned the farmers market was going to be on today as well so will have look when we go.

Just printed off a voucher for a boiler service to take to a special needs school tombola so need to drop that to the open day.Just hoping it finally stops raining.

Looks like all our plans for ds1's birthday are being rained out, luckily he doesn't know anything about them so he can't get upset. I'm cruel i know but we love to surprise the boys with birthday treats over the weekend of they birthday.

So say surprise favourite breakfast for instance. Or a dvd and hm popcorn, its little things but they love it. Just hoping that on Monday its going to sunny for his birthday bbq, another surprise he has no idea about;), ds2's idea.

Been eating simple good food again...salads, cereal, fruit and a new idea for me which has worked very well, especially when the local supermarket has had very good yogurt on offer often at half price.

Having yogurt poured over fruit and/or adding cereal/museli instead of milk. I also manage to make bread last quite a long time without it going stale/mouldy so that is not working out too expensive if you work out how long it is lasting and costing daily.

And that will improve when I attempt to make my own again when all is hopefully back in order after their visit again...but again when I am able to buy reduced priced bread and breadbuns and sometimes the home bakery section have offers on I can do quite well.

If I was to order from AF I wonder where I'd store it all:rotfl:but whenever I look I never seem to see the bargains others do and items that I would be able to make meals out of, could do with some ideas in case I decide to make an order...dates on the goods don't worry me as nearly everything I eat is past their dates often by months and I am fine...

I also believe that if cooked and piping hot many use by items are fine to eat. If you have a decent fridge/freezer.

Its funny I used to avoid eating beef for years after the scare and since Mum passed away though with Kidney problems I am supposed to keep protein(red meat)to a minimum and only eat small portions I am eating it again. What I was told by my consultant was not to sit down to a massive steak.
