Kidcat, do get him to check things out with the union. If they offer "suitable" alternative employment and he doesn't accept it, he may be deemed to have chosen to terminate his employment and lose entitlement to any redundancy payout. Their idea of a suitable alternative and yours could be very different. Otherwise, just hang on in there and count each day they have to pay you as a victory
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Ooh my Glastonbury tickets arrived at 7am this morning!! Can everyone keep their fingers crossed that the weather dries up!

VJs mum I remember you had tix with your son, I am going with my boyf for the second time, but we have done lots of festivals over the past few years. We even met at Leeds festival 4 years ago!
If you want any tips or have any questions just let me know. I have developed over the years my essential list of stuff to take and it gets updated after each one :) i meant to say before but it slipped my mind until now.
I have Glastonbury on my twitter feed and have spent today looking through all the info. I can't wait!

Morning, had to catch up took ages...... Scarborough was well WET!!! Only had half a dry day. Caravan for £50 was lovely 3 bedroom and quite new. We slept in the living room as the bedrooms were too cold which is a shame. Oh well it was a nice break fro work, we are lucky compared to some people.

Will pop by later take care x x

Glad you enjoyed the break nutty even if it wasn't as good with the weather. As the saying goes... "a change is as good as a rest".

I'l keep my digits crossed (where practical of course!) for you Chopper. Never been to any music festivals but they are on my wish list along with a hundred other things. Good to have things to wish for and plan for eh?

Got some stuff done yesterday, all kids' bits done, sewing repairs done but still lots left on list that won't all get done today. Trouble is I find extra things to do as I go along like a food shop yesterday and deciding at ling last with DH what to buy DS8 for his coming birthday.

Ok dishwasher's on, washing machine's nearly finished then bath/hair wash before taking DS6 out. Trimmed my hair and fringe this morning, been about 2 years now since I've been to the hairdressers :D. Hope I get some time to bake between town and party expeditions.

hope everyone's ok today. let's have a massive dodgy group hug.... (((((((((((((((((((((( toughies )))))))))))))))))))

Was it it Kidcat? Possibly who said they were ordering a big supply from Approved Foods...and storing it in the loft? That's given me an idea:)

When I get sorted with the HA on Friday(hopefully)I may invest in longer step ladder and put some of my food store in my loft too.

With my luck they'd then decide to do some work in there but the old saying out of sight, out of mind...

Yes pops, it was me, I am more inclined to store my washing powder etc up there. And some plastics crates with dog and cat supplies rather than food just for ease of access I think.

Afternoon toughies! Hope you're all well, hugs to Rosie re pusscat x
Had a few nice days, except for the weather! Was my birthday on Friday, had some beautiful presents from family, but spent rather too much on ready made stuff for birthday tea! Still, it was cheaper than going out!:rotfl:

Having a cheap tea today (jacket spuds and beans with grated cheese) to make up for the other day, and have spent time with mum as my bro is away; her memory is slowly getting worse, and it's just hitting me that we'll be " losing" the person we've loved for so long - that is very tough indeed, my lovely pals! Will be here more often I suspect, just to have a tiny bit more "me" time as a break! :(

Sorry to moan, especially as it's sunny! :D Hope you're all having a good weekend, I really have lottie envy right now!:rotfl:

    Belated Birthday Greetings Cheapskate...
I don't see it as moaning at all. I appreciate your mixed feelings with Mum spending time with someone precious, make the most of the time you have...I know that I did and miss that and always will.

And though I am hopefully wrong I sometimes wish I'd said I love you more and given Mum more cuddles even though we knew how much we meant to each other. Word did get back to me from others how much I was loved. Unconditional love.

Getting ready to have a break from the tidying and will start again when I come in...time is flying by too quickly. Hows it going? Well, after today all bedrooms should be cleared. I have done more than planned but once I started...

That leaves a little in the bathroom and kitchen then sorted. Just a bit of dusting...

Thank you for the birthday wishes :) It's a day of mixed emotions as tomorrow should be my late husband's birthday and my wedding anniversary. I do try and see it as being lucky still though, as there was more love in our short marriage than some people have in a life time and I did end up with the house elf who has been an absolute star today.

I have had the company of friends, the sun has shone and we have laughed. For these things I am grateful when so many have nothing.

Take care all of you x
