Morning toughies, day off today and we have glorious sunshine yay!!! Im so in need of a non eventful day.
Going to get some wood chips for the flower beds, it helps keep the moisture in and stop excessive weeds growing.
FUDDLE, check with the owner to see what they know at the nursery. The wages might be in today, even if its only a part payment.
Take care xBSC member 137

Morning all, by 'eck it's a smashing day down here, I've just opened up the greenhouse and the poly and it's so warm in both of them already you can almost hear things growing and they smell wonderful. Have just put a wash load on, it's too nice not to do it and get things dry outside, He Who Knows and his boy are walking down by the river and playing with all thier doggie pals and a nice older friend has just offered us some already chitted Pink Fir Apple Potatoes for the lottie. FUDDLE have a lovely day today, I hope you have this lovely sunshine where you are pet, it lifts your spirits just by being outside. Hope you managed some sleep last night and are feeling a bit more positive now, you'll get there, it just takes a little time, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Lovely day here too, it's a shame I need to do so many jobs indoors!
Fuddle I hope your email has had an effect and they are speeding up your payment. It's so petty of them, I'm constantly surprised grown ups do stuff like this. Amazing the human race has survived at all really. Glad you've got the advance and the sunshine.
Am pleased to have hit the 2 stone weightloss marker now, although not one person has noticed yet. My parents are coming up this weekend, but luckily they prefer healthy food so I won't be tempted. I must say though, eating lots more veg has massively increased my grocery bill so am not sure how long I can keep it up. I need to find cheaper ways of doing stir fries.0 -
I've just come back from walking the boy this afternoon and as we were walking around the recreation ground, the school, which is next door, bought a couple of classes of kids out for a walk. They were listening for sounds outside and trying to identify what they might be. It is lovely that schools still have the sense to allow teachers to let the children be outside on these georgeous afternoons, so much better for them than sitting in a hot and overcrowded classroom. I think it's smashing!!! They are obviously going to walk round the whole village as I met them coming towards me as I walked back up our road, perfect way to spend the afternoon.0

Well done on the weight losspeople who see you every day tend not to notice so much but if your parents haven't seen you for a while I'm sure they'll be impressed. I agree that healthy eating can put a strain on your budget as the bogof s tend to be on carp like crisps and biscuits. Have you got room to grow some salad leaves, even in a pot or window box? And sprouting seeds and bean sprouts will fill out your stir fry.

I came across a little gaggle of younger children at the tip (sorry, recycling centre) this week. So much more exciting than the classroom0 -
Bloomin heck Mar, I know the Scots want independance but do they really want their own weather system too - its warm and dry here, am so sorry you are still suffering I thought it would have been at least dry if not warm up there.
When I opened the greenhouse yesterday it was so warm my glasses steamed upThink my veggies are going to come out ready cooked at this rate - not knocking it at all, am feeling very positive and have to keep the feeling going.
Congrats Possession, you must feel fab. Well done :jClearing the junk to travel light

We have had lovely days so far this week, but today is cool and overcast, with a very chilly wind. However, I have spent so long in the garden that I now look like I have been on the costas! The difference between yesterday and today is quite amazing, and makes gardening quite interesting. Everything is so behind, a few warm days and it gallops away, then gets checked again.
I saw an amazing thing the other day. A robin and his mate doing their courtship dance on my path. He perched on the edge and stretched himself right up and pointed his beak to the sky, then he started swaying slowly from side to side and giving out tiny trills and chirrups, whilst his lady hopped about with her feathers fluffed up and her tail bolt upright.
He look like a tiny Bird of Paradise, quite a wonderful sight!
Mar - I hope you get some good weather soon, it's just not fair!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
