  • You just need a couple of gentle days my pet and to have the ends tied up, it'll happen. Don't pressure yourself, you can't help how it makes you feel and it will all sort itself out in the not too distant future and you'll get back on an even keel. We're here in the meantime, so say it to us, and don't let it fester, smiles and hugs (and licks frum a Lurcha)Lyn xxx.

I don't know when I'm getting paid. Horrible conversation over how I cannot expect to be paid on time without any notice. Saying that it was in the hands of their accountants and I will get my pay when it's processed. She could not tell me when that will be. I fought for my 2 weeks in march's pay and said they were with holding that and she got nasty actually saying they weren't with holding anything and that I would get what I was due when the information had been processed. This was the clerk but heard the manager shout tell her to send her t-shirts back or ill deduct those from her wages. I had great pleasure of telling her they were in the post.

So, I have after school club to pay tomorrow and no way of paying it. I feel l should have my 2 weeks from march pay cycle but don't know if I'm entitled or have a leg to stand on in demanding it. I don't ever want to deal with them again to be honest. She wouldn't speak to my sister as is confidential.

    I am defrosting the freezer

    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

It's only taken 18 months to be able to do it. But i am working at home, freezer was empty enough to decant the important stuff into the other one, there are some croissants and rolls which will defrost and then put back, but they will be fine.

Quite excited - sad isn't it?

Fuddle - I think a strongly worded letter might be in order. I bet a quick google will come up with something. Or is there an employment forum on here? I remember how people on here helped someone get money back from a missold car (was it Penny something?) I was amazed at that. I found this site when looking for advice about our solicitors when we were house buying - we would have been seriously out of pocket without the help here.

Although I know contract law, I am not good at Employment law but someone will.

Fuddle - can you speak to the owner again, as she did seem sympathetic, and did say not to worry about the notice period. Explain that you have now worked for six weeks without pay, incurring travel costs, and now have no money left for the next week (I would paint it as black as it is, make sure she understands what a terrible position they have left you in). She should be able to do something, whatever their systems are.

If she is less than co-operative I might remind her of the fork incident and how poorly it was dealt with. It might focus her attention.

I know you might not feel up to it, but at least you would feel like you are doing something?

Fuddle - I have just looked at the "basic rights at work and redundancy - Citizens Advice Bureau" forum - they seem to be giving good advice. Why not post your issue there?d Nothing to be lost, anyway.

Sorry am rushing so will post properly later
Fuddle - you spoke to the owner who said she was sorting your wages and that she was making sure you were paid in full - that will take her instructing pay dept etc and as it was MOnday my guess is that its delayed it from the pay cycle, call her again and just see what she says. If any changes are made to OH pay on a MOnday he isnt paing till the following Monday and I know a few who have a rule that no adjustments are possible after the previous Friday for this very reason.

Hi Fuddle, sorry to hear you're having problems with your ex-employer.

Don't worry too much, they have to pay you.
I would imagine that you are caught between pay deadlines, very often info and adjustments need to be relayed to whoever administers payroll anything up to a month in advance so you are often working for over a month before being paid - it's quite a thing to get your head around when you're not used to payroll.

You'll be having additional problems as you've started and terminated within six weeks, makes the whole process a bit of a pain for you!
Having said that, if the payment is made via BACS (straight in to your bank a/c), then it is quite flexible and with a bit of firm "standing your ground", even if the deadline has passed then you should demand a "special payment" as they are causing you some distress and you have little mouths to feed.

I would express this request to the owner, not the jobsworths in the office who will undoubtedly have a grudge against you and while not actually impeding your payment, will not exactly be putting themselves out either! (Extremely unprofessional!!)

    Try this for info:

Loads of info and the helpine is good - used to pick their brains a lot in my previous life!

Stay calm and best of luck!

wow record for washing drying outside, jeans in 15 mins. I pegged them onto the line - inside out to avoid fading - just checked and all dry. Loving this weather :-)

Have done hard boiled eggs, prepared a salad and cooked some new potatoes for tea. OH will just have to cook the chicken portion when he gets home.

Last day for @ldi voucher, if anyone has one left from last week!!

Fuddle, hope you manage to get hold of the owner, explain its ruined your bank holiday weekend. Maybe they can do an express transfer today for at least half the money owed. Be brave, and go for it.

    take care x
