  • Morning Toughies, our Pigalettos have eaten with relish dandelions, sow thistles, groundsel, shepherds purse, chickweed, all the goosefoot family and most herbs including Bay leaves. We always made sure they had dry food too, but the 'wild' things were always favourite and meant the dry food lasted longer, so costing us less to keep the pets.

GINNY Brilliant news about your Mum, one less thing on already burdened shoulders eh?

Have a good day everyone, Cheers Lyn xxx.

No need to travel anywhere for dandelions, millions of the blessed things on my lawn! Yes I have been giving them some in moderation.

Blimey, pampered guinea pigs - what sort of relish? ;) Not Gentlemen's relish, surely? (sorry couldn't resist :p)

Morning toughies - Happy star wars day

I am off to Lunnon tahn for lunch with school friends. I am full of cold (thanks to a guy in an exam i was invigilating last week) but have taken a spoonful of honey and cinnamon and may take a bottle of what my DD calls "Gollum juice" - lemon and ginger tea with a spoonful of honey and cinnamon. Hopefully that and paracetomol will see me through.

Tomorrow, I am going to fetch what has been described as "one of those mini greenhouse type thingies" that a former student, with whom I am still in touch, is giving away - together with "hundreds" of pots and seed trays. What do you think I should give her to say thanks? She doesn't drink, so wine is out. No time to bake or buy flowers - I've got a couple of slabs of CDM, will that suffice do you think?

    Have a nice day all

    Morning All!

Glad that all is OK with your Mum Ginny, and cross fingers for yours Cheapskate.

Kidcat - can I just say, I have no idea how you manage to stay sane, lesser mortals would have crumbled years ago!

Can I borrow a small herd of piggies please? I have plenty of lovely fresh weedlings for them to munch on, they might come home a bit fatter!

I am doing the 5:2 diet, I started just after Christmas. My whites were getting very tight at the end of last season and I knew that my making a lot of chocolate pressies had not helped, so needed to do something. My whites are nice and loose now! I only eat once on a fast day, keeping my calories for a big evening meal and a pudding, after experimenting I found this works best for me. I usually do Chinese steamed fish and broccoli, I love it and am happy to eat it twice a week, and no thinking required! It takes moments to prepare, minutes to cook and hardly any washing up. Mr T had whole rainbow trout half price this week so I stocked up for the next few weeks.

Have a nice day everyone - Mar is it any better up there yet?

Morning all. Been lurking but not posting as usual but couldn't resist a comment on the dandelion thing. I used to pick these as a child as they are soooo pretty but mum told me not too as they'd make me wet the bed. Now I know the origins of that tale, as if I'd have eaten them!!

VJsMum, hope you feel better soon.

Have a great day everyone, sun is just beginning to peek through here after a very wet start.

Hi everyone, just managed to get home at last. Youngest DD has a days work, yay its a trial run working on a flower stall. I hope she gets it, the independace will be good for her.

Eldest DD landlord came to look around the house today, she is going to look at the heating. And will be repairing the door bar. Apart from that she seamed ok with everything. They will still keep an eye out for a house that has a garden.

Just waiting for OH to get home from work, we are going to go watch the flower parade. Hopefully we can park somewhere for free - why does everywhere increase there parking fees to stupid amounts?

We have cool winds here today, the sun shines and then we get a quick shower. Please can we have our sunshine back - whoever has taken it??

    Take care everyone x

Are you on the east side of the country nutty? We just can't seem to shift that cold wind at all.
