No Buying Unnecessary toiletries in November

kiplingmonkey wrote: »I have managed to resist both the LE advent calendar (the price was outrageous!) and the LIB - agree with Evilsquid - wouldn't really want at least half of the things in it. Have also put £5 into my SPC in advance of the BM TSV on the Q tomorrow. Had an email saying I could order early but really wasn't tempted.... OMG  progress indeed....
Here goes with the UUs:
OPI nv remover - nice but WMBA as I am sure there are cheaper removers out there. Have also got some to test out thanks to my lovely Summer Swap buddy.
Liz E skin repair normal 15ml - HG neck cream. Have more in stash to UU but will definately BA when I run out (especially now my local Bts stocks LE - luccky me, sadly no make up though as I went in to have a look the other day (but came out without spending anything))
Liz E hand repair - love this but it doesn't quite match up to my L'Occ HG shea butter hand cream.
That is progress kiplingmonkey. I think the only TSV I'm interested in this month is the Yankee Candle one. I am kicking myself cos last week they had a kit on that I would have really liked but it sold out. Maybe will watch later as they've sent me a EP voucher for today.
If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to the OPI nail lacquer remover I would recommend Cutex Ultra Cleansing. This is my HG remover.
I am going to get some more LE Skin Repair Moisturiser when I put in my Christmas order for Emma's C&P and MrM's body wash. Although yesterday we went to JL as they finally had MrM's Elemis Sensitve Shave Gel in. They were still offering GWP and said if we bought 3 items we could have all ten minis on offer. MrM bought me my cleanser and exfoliator as well so they let us have 13 minis.
So INs but MrM is insisting they all go away to Father Christmas:-
Lime Blossom Cleanser - my HG
Gentle Rose Exfoliator - again my HG
2 x Sensitive Shave Gel
GWP minis:-
Cellular Bliss Capsules x 14
Gentle Rose Exfoliator 15ml x 3
Oxygenating Night Cream 15mls x 2
Noushing Milk Bath x 125ml
Sharp Shower 50ml
Noursihing Milk both lotion 50ml
Tri-Enzyme facial wash 50ml
Pro Radiance cream cleanser 30mls x 2
Maxmium Moisture Day Cream 20ml
Will have a tot up of the value and see how much I've saved. In hindsight wish I'd swapped the Try-Enzyme wash for something else as I had already swapped a Frangipani Moisture melt for another cleanser. Will have to tot up the value and see how much we've "saved".
I'm using LE hand repair as well at the moment and can't wait to finish it. Don't particularly like the smell and if I apply too much it flakes straight off again. One UU today:
L'Occitane shea hand cream 30ml. This was the freebie from the FB giveaway. Really liked this, the only one that rivals my HG of Neutrogena but it's a lot more expensive...
I'm gonna have to pop one of these freebie tubes in my bag now as my hands are so dry at the moment.rogueylawyer wrote: »Another day another UU:
Champneys Spa indulgence thai royale bubble heaven 50ml
I really love the smell of this, and am using the body butter atm. WIBA? Yes, but not in the travel size as it is a nightmare to get out of the little bottle.
I have been very good today. Found myself feeling down and upset and wanted to spend money to comfort myself. I went in to body shop, boots and superdrug. I bought new blades for my quattro shaver and cotton buds, both of which were planned purchases. I spent ages looking at makeup, beauty products, bath products, and didn't buy a thing. Breakthrough!
You seem to be on a roll with your UUs now roguelawyer. I too hate it when you get bad packaging on a product. The packaging I particularly hate is the metal tubes that L'occitane use for their hand cream and Weleda use for their cleansers. Of course you then end up buying a L'Occitane key to help get the rest of the product out!
Well done on not spending in Boots etc.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Also have a couple of UUs to report:-
Batiste dry shampoo. HG staple and have bought replacement already though didn't realise until I got home that it's a smaller can. Grrr!
Philosophy Cinnamon Buns. Emma used this mostly as she has no shower gels of her own left. Is lovely. MrM has bought Emma one for Christmas. He's also got me my Pumpkin Pie and Candy Cane. Sadly my shower gel stash will grow again before I've finished it. The L'Occitane Cherry Blossom that I bought for my sister for either a birthday/Christmas gift will remain with me also. I asked her the other day what she would like for Christmas and she wants some Marc Jacobs Daisy shower gel.
I didn't really like the Avon Gunmetal nail lacquer I put on yesterday so I've topped it with OPI Golden Rainbow and now it looks gorgeous.
Am sitting here with Percy & Reed hair mask on as I keep meaning to use it but usually can't be bothered. Do have quite a few items that are spluttering so should have more UUs this week.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. It's amazing how long tubes go on for once you cut the end off them. I've a S&G scrub your nose in it and the end has been cut off for about 6-8 weeks now and I'm still using it daily
and it's got a few more uses left in it!
Pre-challenge I'd never cut anything open, I cringe to think of all the product I wasted! I guess I just wouldn't have thought it was worth it but it is surprising how much there is stuck in some poorly designed packaging!! I cut up and turn upside down pretty much everything possible nowadays :A In fact when I cut open a L'Oreal Ever Pure shampoo the other day I was most disappointed when it was already empty but also pretty impressed they'd designed a tube that didn't leave loads of product stuck...
One IN yesterday which was planned - Batiste Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair - got this on offer in Boots. Not tried this version before so looking forward to seeing what its like - regular dry shampoo makes me look like I've grey/white roots no matter how much I try and brush it through/rub it in with my fingers - my hair is really quite dark. A good look for Halloween but that's about it!
A few UU also:
Next Paradise Body Lotion - ok but WNBA - after a while I found the fragrance a bit sickly and the texture of the lotion was just really average and it felt like a bit of a chore to UU. I'm not very good at using body lotion daily unless its one I really like so I can't wait to have whittled the stash down in this area but its going to be quite a while yet! Then I will buy myself something really nice I'll enjoy using.
Olive Oil Soap - WBA in theory but I'm not going especially to Crete for it :rotfl:
Festival Dry Shampoo - Must admit there is a tiny bit left in this but I'm chucking anyway as I've moved onto the dark hair versions of this product as above. Its not worth giving anyone else as literally only a use or two left I think. As far as regular dry shampoo goes this was fine and bargain basement price-wise.
OH is at work today so I'm having a day to myself - been rushing round all week so its nice just to be able to potter about and not need to be somewhere!0 -
Hello ladies- I have an out to report.
TBS moringa body butter- wba because the smell is yummy!0 -
UU
Weleda Skin Food, 1.5ml - WNBA a little to strong smelling for my skin, i certainly wouldn't put it on my face!
Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion, 1.5ml - WNBA nice enough but again very strong smelling and a bit runny
Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer, 7ml - WNBA, not sure this does anything tbh as i don't particularly have wrinkles at the age of 26 but prevention is better than nothing lol!Total debts = [STRIKE]£3116[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]2216[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2066[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1916[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1766[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1616[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1466[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1316[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1166[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1016[/STRIKE]£866
DMP £150 each month
Total paid off so far £2150

Have managed to resist the TSV - strange e/shadow colours I think - wouldn't suit me at all.
Have managed another UU:
S&G off your face wipes - WNBA - preferred the Champneys ones from my lovely Easter swap buddy. Have some Aapri ones next. Use facial wipes as a pre cleanse before using the Emma Hardie moringa balm which I adore.
Also some INs from my Amarya box (in white so as not to spoil the surprise for anyone who hasn't received their box). I don't count sachets as INs so just 3 for me:
Essential care creamy coconut cleanser 30ml
Cowshed cow slip soothing hand cream 50ml
Weleda lavender creamy body wash 20ml
I should have no more INs now this month so hope to have a good minus figure by the end of the month. Have a few splutterers so think I should have about 5 more UUs to come.

Hi everyone, cold and sunny here, hope it is good wherever you are too. OH out, so lazy morning for me, unpacking from holiday, watching TV, eating toffee and drinking lots of tea:j
I managed to ignore all the inviting e-mails and the 3 easy pay one from Q, but have bought a mini Benefit Dandelion from eb*y, good price and not much money wasted if it does not suit me. Don't live near a Benefit counter to be able to try it.
Can anyone make a recommendation for mascara to suit runny eyes in cold winds? I used to love Clinique ones, but have got fed up with Panda eyes and the Gemma Kid freebie was a disaster for me. I have a No 7 waterproof one, but prefer not to use waterproof every day as I think it might be too drying for me.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Not hugely helpful given your previous comment, but I use Benefit BADGal. It's a very creamy thick formula so doesn't run like a lot of other products. Plus I use it in plum as it enhances eye colour (black is too harsh on me).
One more UU to report: Champneys spa indulgence thai royale body cream 50ml
Liked the smell, WMBA but it's quite thick and now I feel my clothes are stuck to me0 -
first use ups for November
30ml Hair mask, was a sample from my hairdresser.
50ml LE Superskin body moisturiser. MBA, thick and rich, but not unduly sticky.
50ml ElizabethArden 8 hour body moisturiser. Came as part of a gift set MBA, same as above. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I use Mabeline one by one which i got free through a comp and i wont go back to any of my others now i only ever apply to the top lashes as i find it looks too much on both but i never seem to get panda eyes and my eyes are prone to watering.
HTH
3 UU to report
2 samples of Garnia Intensive 7day body lotion .... OK i think this is the final straw my body is too large unless of course they designed the sample to only do one leg? Either way i think it could be diet time next week.
1 of that face wash/mask skincare revolution stuff stinged midly for a few seconds to start then stopped but skin feels very dry and tight following so i wont be buying it.
Now off to paint my nails in posh trash again .... it makes my ultra short nails actually look half decent :TConsolidated and under control 42 payments to go.:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:([STRIKE]£7028.50[/STRIKE]£5990.43Aim: 35 and Debtfree0
