thats what i wanna do, in clothes shop, supermarket, part time while at uni

All these jobs involve lifting - how do you think the goods get to the shelves?

Do you have a problem with your back? Have you looked at pilates or some weight work to build up your strength?

This may come as something of a shock to you since you are still at university, but best someone tells you this now - nobody is entitled to a job. There are lots of students, and lots of unemployed people, and lots of employed people, chasing jobs. You want the job you want - and one with training to boot? Not going to happen. You need to be what the employer needs, not what you need, and you are up against a lot of competition, so you have to stand out as the employee who is going to meet their needs. You can't afford to be picky if all you want is a job that fits around your studies. Many people can't afford to be picky anyway - and they have no studies!

The OP said she quits greggs because of lifting heavy trays, doesn't she realise that there will be heavy lifting involved in any of the supermarkets. I'm afraid the OP will have to learn that no matter what in jobs you may have to lift heavy items that is when manual handling comes into practice. Being a media student really doesn't qualify you for anything really, and has been said before you cannot be picky these days.

You "can't" get a job. I am fed up hearing this excuse from people. If you want a job you will take anything there is going. I've worked in chip shops and petrol stations before when I was a student to make cash. They weren't the most amazing jobs but if you want money start looking harder. Don't expect to just wait for a job to fall in your lap.
If I lost my job today I would find a new job tomorrow even if it involved cleaning toilets. Its not hard. There are jobs out there.

Don't complain that you can't get a job if you won't apply for half of them.

Jeez you're meant to be a university student, grow up for goodness sake.

I work full time but took a job part time for a year cleaning at a dentist to make extra cash.

I can tell you now I didn't enjoy cleaning toilets 5 nights a week but I needed the money so I did it.

Don't moan you can't get a job if you won't apply for everything there is.
